◘♠♣♦♥Kassidy Moreno♥♦♣♠◘

Kassidy drummed her fingers on the counter as she waited for the next customer to roll their basket up. Nowhere near half of her shift, and she was bored stiff. Her eyes shot over to the line when she heard a gentle voice say, "Go ahead, ma'am. I don't mind waiting and I'd hate to force you to wait for me when you have so little to purchase." That was sure a nice thing to do... She thought, taken aback by the sudden and random act of kindness as she began to scan the old woman's items.

The old lady, indeed, had a scant few items, and was on her way to her car with a basket boy to help her out. Kassidy looked to the male who'd allowed the woman to go ahead. She managed a small smile. He was an attractive sort, and she realize, he, too, went to school with her. This one she knew the name of though. Bryce. If she remembered correctly, they'd had a class together before, but she couldn't remember what exactly it had been. Probably an English class. She tended to sleep through those.

Ashelin was quite excited when Fawn finally managed to get out a yes. She said she'd have to ask, and get a dress. Ashelin had one, but she'd be happy to accompany the girl. "Well, I'll go dress shopping with you," she said with a smile. The girl began to ramble off a bit, and Ashelin knew she was still a bit flustered. She offered them to come inside, and Ashelin nodded. "Sure," she said with a friendly smile. She turned back to Kung Woo. "C'mon, let's not keep the lady waiting," she said to the boy, following Fawn into her house.

Ashelin wasn't sure what she was expecting out of going to Homecoming. She supposed it was just another attempt of hers to pretend she was any ordinary teenage girl, which of course she wasn't. Still, it was nice to get away from home, which reminded her constantly that she never would live a normal life. She just wished her parents would understand, but they were so set in their traditions that Ashelin knew there was no getting out of it. She had the rest of the year, and not long after graduation, she was to get married. 'Some graduation present, she thought bitterly to herself, and then smiled up at Fawn as if nothing were wrong. She was good at hiding her feelings.

She shrugged her shoulders at Jake's first question. "Well...some say i'm just hardy, others will admit i'm just the clumsiest girl alike." She leaned her head against the wall. "Me, i guess is say a little of both, you know?" It was true yet ironic, how the suppesdly athletic girl also had a streak of clumsiness.

In regards to his last question, she opened her eyes, peering anxiously at the boy. "Well, i say why don't we all try to fly sometimes? It broadens our view, does it not?" She yawned, stretching out on the grass. "But if you really want to, i'd say a trip to the arcade is in order first. Excellent place to break the ice and learn your opponent's true nature." She store down at Jake, a serious expression on her face. "are you in Jakey-Boy?"

He looked up from the magazine and moved forward, unloading his basket briskly onto the conveyor belt, shooting Kass a broad grin as he does so, guessing what she was thinking. "It was English. You sat two rows over and one row up." A little grunt escaped him as he hauled the food and litter up and thunked it down behind his other purchases, then rolled his basket forward. "You're Kassidy, right? I really enjoyed your oral report on 'The Fall of the House of Usher'. I liked the way you compared the premature burial of Usher's sister to that of Usher himself being buried alive in his own home. Very insightful."

He smirked at himself and rolled his shoulders, grabbing his magazine once she had rung it up, and folding it before tucking it into his back pocket, tilting his head at her. "You know, I never would have pictured you working here. Actually, I never would have pictured you working anywhere. Not that I think you're lazy, just that you don't...seem like the kind of person to have an every day job. I guess I would have imagined you as a writer or artist of some kind." He plucks one of the red roses from the dozen he had picked out, then offers it to her with a charming smile. "I hope you accept roses from strangers."

Mark was not surprised that Krysta had found such interest in glow in the dark eyeliner. She always seemed to be so easily entertained. Then, Krysta had brought up coming and asked if he were going. He gave her a funny look, fighting back the urge to laugh. "Me, Homecoming? Ha!" he said. He wasn't one for those big, school related functions. No. Most likely, he'd head out that night and find a party to crash. He'd call up Ashelin and ask her to tag along, but she'd said something about going along with some girl she'd met a few days ago. "I'm not the dancing type," he told her.

Then, she'd reached up and started playing with his hair. He rolled his eyes at her amusement. Cute as she was, she was a strange one, which is probably why he liked her so much. "It's just hair, you know. Nothing special," he said, but let her keep messing with it. He'd fix it later. Surprisingly, he tended to be a bit fickle about his hair. Not as bad as some boys, but he had a look, and he stuck to it.

Alex Rose

Beauty

Alex was, needless to say, excited. It felt like she was in one of her adventure stories. Didn’t a lot of them start out like this? Getting handed a helmet by some guy who was going to take you somewhere you’ve never been on a motorcycle. Okay, so this was a moped but basically the same thing. Alex shook her head slightly at her silly thoughts. She knew she shouldn’t be letting her mind wander. She had done that so many times before and ended up disappointed every single time. She wasn’t sure how much more she could take. Then she shook her head at that thought as well. She shouldn’t be so negative all the time. That kind of attitude was what kept her in her books and out of real life which is what left her with not many friends. She planned to solve that problem. Looking at Yuan she realized she had delved into her thoughts a little too much and she probably looked a little crazy to him at the moment.

Alex took the helmet from him and snapped it on. ”Nope. I got it.” There was a time long ago when her brother had taken one of his friend’s motorcycles for a spin and given Alex a ride. Her brother wouldn’t help her with a helmet and said she would have to figure it out herself. Alex had been scared that she wouldn’t do it right and then end up dying on the ride so she made sure she knew how to get it on exactly right. Apparently the action stuck with her. She thought about what Yuan said about her being shy. She wasn’t really shy. She could talk to people she just chose not to. ”I wouldn’t say I’m shy. More like unsociable. I do talk to people but I generally prefer to read. It could be that the people I did talk to ended up being jerks.” She added that last part as a side note. She didn’t want Yuan thinking she wouldn’t talk to him.

As much as Noah didn’t show it, he did understand where this girl was coming from. But he defiantly wasn’t going to admit it. Noah had pride and when he started something he was going to see it through. He felt a little offended when she classified him as ‘you people’. What other people where in this? He didn’t want to be bunched in with a bunch of jerks. Granted, he could be a jerk at times, but still! He looked into the girl’s eyes and wouldn’t break the contact. As long as she held it, so would he. He had to smile at her last comment. ”Well I’m flattered that you think I’m a natural beauty.”

Noah wanted to end this confrontation. He didn’t come here to be a bad guy. He just wanted to know what was up. Noah wasn’t one for making fools out of people and he certainly didn’t want to be made a fool himself. ”Okay I think we got off on the wrong foot here. I didn’t mean to cause a scene.” Noah laughed in his head because he had been the one to basically walk in on a scene already. ”Can we start over? I’m Noah. May I know your name?” He flashed her a genuine smile. Obviously he couldn’t be cocky around this girl.

Danny stood up and watched as Brandyn brushed himself off. She was kind of wondering how he did remember her name. Although, she wasn't quite sure. Danny was told never to trust everyone. She experienced it with her parents. The whole pet thing wasn't exactly the moment of her life. "Oh, okay. Umm..." When Brandyn mentioned Kung Woo Danny didn't know who he was talking about so she spaced out trying to see if she remembered him or even met him.

Danny didn't really know what to say to Brandyn. She was going to go shopping before she headed home but she knew that Brandyn wouldn't want to join her. "Uh, actually no. I'm not heading home. I was going to go grocery shopping. Um, you could walk me home another time." Danny said backing up. Danny didn't want to seem like she didn't like him she just wasn't used to the fact that someone actually knew her name. Danny was a nobody, she was gonna stay that way until her idea for homecoming.

"Brandyn, listen. I really have to get to shopping and then I go home. Unless you want to join me and then take me home then you can go ahead. Just a quick warning though, I tend to take a really long time shopping." Danny wanted a way out of this and she knew he wouldn't really believe her. Danny's worst thought was that he would actually agree to her indirect offer. If he did Danny would have to break it to him. She hoped she didn't have to. Brandyn was a nice guy but him being nice was the problem with Danny.

Kyle was glad that Kari was eager to go along with that. He couldn’t really find many people to come along on his little adventures. He would either get the people who were appalled that he would even consider such a thing or he would get the hard core people who wanted to do bigger stuff to break the law. Kyle was just a simple guy. He wouldn’t do anything too bad, just enough to tick the cops off every once in awhile. He had gotten held up overnight in the big house a couple of times but Kyle never really worried about actually being put there for a longer period. The cops knew he was just messing around and, although he annoyed the crap out them, they would more than likely put up with him.

Kyle thought about a plan for what to do. He had been thinking about a joy ride. He wondered if Kari would be up for something like that. She did agree to go along but he wondered to what extent. Where were her limits? Kyle certainly didn’t want to push her there. He had just met her and she seemed like a cool girl. He didn’t want to wreck that by being an idiot. ”Well I was thinking maybe something like taking a cop car. But if that’s too much we could do something smaller. Whatever you’re comfortable with.” Kyle thought about that last line and thought it was a little weird to put with what they were talking about.

Logan opened the door from the music area. He leaned his head slightly back and said goodbye to the music teacher. ”See ya later Mr. Morlock!” ”Bye Logan, don’t get into any trouble now.” They both had a little laugh before Logan gave one final wave and went into the halls of the school. The halls were silent mainly because of the fact that Logan usually hid out in the music area for a few minutes after school. He didn’t want to deal with the crowded hallways. Plus, Mr. Morlock would let him play music in there as long as he wanted. Of course, Logan would always have to leave when he did. Logan really enjoyed that specific area of the school. It was a place where he didn’t have to feel like a loner. He could just sit down at the piano and get lost in the music. That was something he wouldn’t trade the world for.

Logan ran his hands along the lockers as he counted them down till he got to his specific one. Finding the marking 0 on the lock he put in the combination and opened it up. Thankfully, Logan didn’t have any homework tonight so he put all his school books in his locker before shutting it. Putting his backpack back on, it was considerably lighter. Logan smiled at the lesser weight. He didn’t like feeling like a pack mule with his oversized backpack. Taking out his phone and turning it on, it beeped telling him that he had a voice mail. Listening to it, Logan quickly found out that it was his mom. She was such a worry wart when it came to Logan getting home after school. She never was comfortable with him walking but it was something that made him happy so she would just have to deal with it.

Logan made his way to the front of the school and out the doors. As he passed by some of the few students who were still around he heard the familiar whispers about him. Why couldn’t people get their own lives to worry about? He never liked it when people talked about him. He especially didn’t like it when they took him for being deaf, talking about him only a few feet away when it was obvious he could hear. They either thought he was deaf or they did it on purpose. Either way, Logan didn’t like it. Making it outside, Logan smiled as he felt the sun on his face. Today was a nice day and he was glad he was walking home.

Izzie had to admit she was slightly shocked that the boy tried to reconcile thngs between them. She had pegged him as a classic pretty boy who disses and runs, but perhaps there may be hope yet. Izzie knew that she especially shouldn't be so foward or stone in judging others. Many people had different faces in different places, so perhap this...Noah boy really wasn't all that bad. An interesting thought to say the least. The fact
he hadn't made that much notice of her annoying accent either also didn't make him seem that bad to her.

She decided to play along, and flashed him in kind a large grin, the poster lowering slightly. She whipped back her head so her ponytail was now hanging over her shoulder, her gaze never breaking from Noah's. "Hello Noah, I am Izamayla, but you can call me Izzie." She shrugged her shoulders. "That iz wat everyone calls me anyvays." She traced her mind to his previous comment, eyebrows raising although her smile didn't falter. "And please. Don't think anything of zat comment. I say it liek it iz, blunt and to the point." She looked down momentairly, adjusting the train on her sari, then glancing back quikly at him, as if daring to make a comment on her choice of dress.

Noah thought about her comment where she said she was blunt and to the point. You got that right. He thought but didn’t say out loud. He really didn’t want to come off as being a jerk. And hey, he couldn’t help what his initial thoughts were right? He was happy that his plan seemed to be working. At least she wasn’t shouting her ideas at him anymore and the crowd seemed to disperse slowly as they saw that the confrontation was cooling down. Now maybe he could get somewhere with this girl.

Noah nodded his head a bit. ”It’s nice to meet you. Which do you prefer to be called Izzie or Izmayla? I’ll call you whatever you want.” He noticed her adjusting her dress and then the look she gave him afterwards. It seemed like she was challenging him to do something. And Noah was never one to back down from a challenge no matter what it was. ”That dress is pretty cool and it looks amazing on you. I don’t think it would look as well on me though.” Noah had no idea what possessed him to say that. That was something that was defiantly out of character for him. Maybe this small town life was effecting him somehow.

Noah almost made her laugh out. Almost being the key word there. No, i don't think my sari would look good on you. Beside's, i'm pretty sure pink isn't all that flattering a color on you.She noted how the crowd began to walk away, and with a sigh she dropped the poster onto the floor. There would always be tomorrow she was sure. So she looked up, trying to resume her normal Izzie attitude, when she wasn't screaming out for equality.

"Vell, i perfer Izzie, but if you must, call me by my given name." She wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Although i do admit that i hate it. Much to long and grand a label for a zimple girl like meself." She reached back as she was talking, untying the ponytail loose from her hair. Her dark locks fell free over her shoulders, and she shook it loose, getting it to the wild mass she always preferred to have her hair in. His comment was touching though, in it's own weird way. She decided to give him a break for that.

Still leaning back on the crate, she gave him another one of her trademark frindly smiles. "Thank you very much for ze comment. I zuppose i should be thankful...yes?" She giggled pulling on a stray piece of hair. "It's not everyday i get commented on by one of ze...how i zay..." She wrinkled her nose again, then catching herself in a grin. "Inner circle." She wondered if he would catch the joke she just threw at him. If he did, there just may be hope yet for interest in this fellow.

”Alright then. Izzie it is.” Noah said in response to her. He liked to call people by the names they liked. Just because he didn’t have a nickname didn’t mean that he had to call people by their real names all the time. Personally he liked his name and didn’t want someone calling him something else. But there were some people with strange names and it made sense that they were called something different. Noah averted his attention back to what was happening now instead of his random spin off into nicknames.

Noah folded his arms and was surprised by Izzie’s comment about being in the inner circle. He let out a small chuckle and looked her way. ”I think you’ve got the wrong guy. If I’m part of an inner circle then I don’t know about it. But maybe to be in the inner circle you have to not know about it so then I’ve just been kicked out.” Noah decided to stop his joking around. ”I’m new here. Just dropped by school to pick up my schedule.” He informed her.

Lloyd, now aware fully of how stupid he just sounded to that girl, was beating himself up. Literally though, he was. As he made his way farther from the school he would momentarily stop walking, and spend a few seconds just whacking himself in the head. "Stupid, stupid, stupid! You get a girl falling right from the sky in front of you," Lloyd thrust his arms to the sky, yelling up. "And WHAt do you do? Make random comments and comment on sweaty hands!" He resumed walking for but a few more steps, then contiued the pattern. "Stupid, stupid!"

Lloyd normally wouldn't be that hard on himself, but honestly, he needed to change a few things. He was eighteen, a senior in high school. And he still clams up when talking to girls? He paused. "Stupid, stupid!" So now, on top of embarrsment and a blow on his self-esteem, his head was still hurting. Already, what turned out to be a relatively promising day ended up one for Lloyd's record books. Or at least deserving of an entry in his journal. Not that he had one! He was a guy...and guys don't keep journals. They kept... He paused, fist in mid-air. They kept...umm...daily planners! Yes. They kept daily planners. The walking contiued, minus a head beating. He would write this day in his daily planner.

So preoocupied the poor boy was in his daily goof-up, he was totally oblivious to the boy also walking next to him now, face thrust up to the sky. It was as if he was soaking up the sunlight. If Lloyd was paying attention, then would have been the time he divulged to said person that sun cancer on teh afce is the most common area of infection. But he wasn't which was why exactly in one of his bursts of "self-mutiliation" he spun around too fast, and suceeded in whacking the boy right in the back. The contact didn't stop there, and for the second time today Lloyd saw himself toppling to the ground. This time though he had a cushion, which was the boy whose back he currently landed on. With a near squeak lloyd jumped off, pulling the teen by the arm. "I-I'm so sorry, i d-didn't m-mean to do that. It just happened you know, because i was mad at myself and hitting myself in the head to get proper punishment for my eariler act of stupidty, not that i'm calling bump9ing into you stupid you know!" As Lloyd was rattling off again at 1000 miles per hour, the boy's bag was dusted and thrust out in front of him. "H-Here's your bag. I'm sorry." Lloyd said this last line in a mumble, eyes cast down. Hopefulyl this guy didn't beat people up for accepted apologies.
