Ashelin stood as Kung Woo grabbed the shoes and the box of crackers. They headed off toward Fawn's house, with the Asian boy leading the way. Ashelin had only just met the girl, so she hadn't the slightest clue where she lived. As the walked, Kung Woo was rambling about half a dozen topics. Her mind still in a bit of shock, it was taking her time to process all of his words.

He said that he din't like her, he just liked her as a friend. Where most girls may have been offended, Ashelin was quite relieved to hear that. It would make things easier in the long run. She just hoped that Homecoming would remain a secret from her parents. If she could keep it from them, Conner would never hear of it. He only stayed for a day or two any time he vistited, so she figured it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Hang out with him for that short time, and he'd be off home just as oblivious as he'd been when he came. Easy enough, she hoped.

"I can't say I ever have," she said in response to his comment about beat boxing. It was cool when people did it, but she always imagined herself looking rather silly if she were to try. When they reached Fawn's house, Kung Woo asked if she would knock, seeing as he had his hands full, not to mention his mouth which was still full of crackers. Ashelin had never seen someone above the age of five that enjoyed those things so much. She found it rather amusing. "Sure thing," she said, and knocked on the door, waiting to see if Fawn would answer.

With a thud Saybrae found herself on the ground below, the right side of her face plastered against the grass. She narrowed her eys, puffing out her cheeks as she blew an annoying clump of grass away from her. Her phone was untouched, still a few feet away, and began to pick herself up slowly. She reached out, grabbing the stupid phone, stuffing it in her pocket. She opened her mouth and closed it, making sure that she hadn't lost a teeth, or cracked a jaw. It was only then she noticed that Aladdin was on the floor with her, helping her up. As she was straightned out to a sitting position, she couldn't help but look on with amusement.

Jake seemed to actually be frantic, finally showing some outward emotion in the short time she had known him. To anyone who knew Saybrae, this fall was literally nothing off her. She fell from the roof of her house a few summers ago, just walking off with a sprained ankle as her injury. Saybrae was touch, and not afraid to get hurt. But to someone who didn't know her, she supposed that her fall did look relatively painful. Which was why she had a smile on her face as she turned to face the anxious boy.

"No worries Jakey Boy, bones are one thing that doen't break easily for me." She shrugged, trying to add more humor to the situation. "Only thing though, considering my luck in all other areas." Then she notieced her foot was absent a show, and looked down to his hand. "Umm..Mind giving me back my shoe too? I kinda need it..." Saybrae was trying not to make Jake feel humliated, considering he was worried sick. She knew that most males tended to have, hurt egos, when a girl gets by unscathed. Which was why she didn't shrug off his hand on her shoulder, which was still trying to keep her up fear she falled down again. Something not entirely unlikely, for her.

Avery could feel her hopes get lower and lower when she heard Josh's question. "A gift, maybe its for his date..." she thought, as she got into the car. "Well Josh" she said, sounding as happy as she could be. "It all depends on who the gift is for, but most girls or women love jewelry" Avery never been in a car before, this was true and she was somewhat nervous. She had to admit though the car was very nice and the seats were comfy. Many thoughts came to mind, a curious person Avery was since really she didnt know much. Looking around she noticed a belt looking object on the side of the seat and asked "Josh what is this?" Avery knew that Josh would probably think she was highly stupid, but she how was she suppose to know what the contraption was?


"Josh, will you go to homecoming with me?" this was the question she so desperatly wanted to ask, but she needed to know if he was already going with someone and not only that, if he actually wanted to go with her. Of course thats how most girls were, they had a certain someone on their mind and then they had that chance of being the lucky one or just the total awkward moments of the answer 'No' or 'i already have someone to go with' Still playing around with the belt like thing, she pulled on it and saw another little object that was down lower and on the otherside of the chair. Seeing that the belt had a metal item attatched to it, she realized it went to the smaller object down below. "oh i see" she thought feeling stupid once more. Placing the metal part into the smaller slot, she heard a small click and smiled.

♡ B eaming as Mark jokingly congratulated her for killing the mosquito, Krysta did a little mocking curtsy before bursting out into a little laughter. Mark, she guessed, was kind of like Brandyn, in a way. They both liked telling jokes, right? And they were both pretty nice to her. The only difference between the two boys was that Mark was more dangerously adventurous, and liked to get involved in very bad things, and Brandyn was more on the safer side of being adventurous, knowing when to stop and where to draw the line.
When he returned the question, Krysta cocked her head and tapped her chin with her left hand’s index finger. “Welllll,” she drawled, making what she was about to say seem a little more important than it was – in her mind, of course. Giggling, she continued with her response in her normal chirpy tone of voice. “Nothing much, I guess, except that I found this WAYYYY AWESOME glow-in-the-dark eyeliner at Bien Fait the other day!!!” Needless to say, Krysta wasn’t quite over discovering the new Emo fad and her purchase of two green glow-in-the-dark eyeliner pencils.

☆ G iggling, the girl added, “Oh yeah. And Homecoming, I guess. But that’s pretty much on mostly everyone’s agenda.” Starting to get fidgety as she stood still, Krysta fiddled with her white-blonde hair, peering down at the silky strands to check for split ends. “Speaking of,” she started again, a little distracted with her hair, “Are you going? To Homecoming, that is. Because it seems like a lot of people are gonna be going. To Homecoming. More than what I heard from people who went last year, anyway.” Dropping her hair, Krysta proceeded to forget the conversation topic she’d started and stared at Mark’s hair. It was quite interesting, to her – the silky-looking ebony, slightly spiked hairstyle – and Krysta couldn’t resist from touching it any more.

♡ L eaning forward toward Mark on her tiptoes, her eyes completely focused on his hair, Krysta slowly reached out her arm, her pointer finger already sticking out, ready, and cautiously poked Mark’s bangs once. Twice. Three times. Poke…poke…poke…poke, poke, poke, poke, poke poke poke poke poke poke poke!! In Krysta’s mind, the activity would never get old, and she certainly wasn’t going to stop until she was satisfied. Which could take forever.

Picking up the last item that fell from the back he started to stand listening to her speak as they moved out of the way of people. Never been to a place like this before? Wasn't Wal-Mart all around the United States? Unless this girl lived a very very very sheltered life or just moved to the States recently either way didn’t almost everyone know about Wal-Marts? "Where are you from then?" He couldn't help but ask that question he wanted to know where on earth a person could be and not know of Wal-Mart of all places. Once she spoken her name her hand moved out clearly her name wasn't English or at least most English names anyways. "I'm Alexander. You’re not from the States are you?" He asked giving a small shake of his hand and then dropped hers when she took his bag and started walking with it.

He hardly needed help and this girl took his bag. His lips moved into a small frown as he followed after her with his cart staying alongside her as she spoke. That's where he knew he saw her before she was one of the new kids going to school. His eyebrow rose when she asked about homecoming a smile only a few people knew about tugged against his lips. "Asking me or something?" He couldn't help but tease as he shrugged his shoulders. "No I haven't asked anyone and I likely won't be going. I am not one for parties usually especially when you got to dress up." When had the last time he been to a party that wasn't held but the people he semi trusted? A small laugh escaped his lips not being able to remember when it was.

"Well nothing will spoil in my cart or that bag that I am dropping this stuff at the homeless shelter this weekend. Why don't I show you around now?" He had nothing else to do expect return home and well that wasn't on top of his list.

Lydia "Fawn" Walker

Her head jerked up when she heard someone knock on the door, blinking before slapping the water off and racing out of the bathroom, completely forgetting to dry her dripping feet. She scrambled down the stairs, giving a yelp when one foot slipped and she nearly flew down the last four steps, crashing into the front door with a loud thump. "Oowww...Coming!" She shoved back and tugged the door open, eyes crossed to peer up at her forehead, her free hand rubbing at the place she'd thunked it against the door.

"Sorry it took so long, my feet are wet and I fell against the...the..." She finally looked at the two people standing on her doorstep and blinked, forgetting how to talk, though apparently not how to change colors. Her face went a brilliant pink and she stared at them with her mouth hanging open, hand still covering her forehead. "Door." That last word finally made it through her lips, then she swiveled around when she heard her father coming through the foyer behind her. He peered at the two teens on the porch, then looked curiously at his daughter, hands flowing through a series of signs. Fawn ducked her head and peeked back at them, then signed back at him, speaking out loud as she did so.

"Daddy, this is Ashelin and Kung Woo. They go to my school, but I'm not sure why they are here. Guys, this is my father. Let's...talk on the porch." She waves to her father, barely letting him motion his greeting to the other two before she darts out of the house and tugs the door shut behind her, looking at Kung Woo and Ashelin. "So, uhm...Why are you guys here, at my house? Did you follow me? I didn't mean to throw the cookies at you, Kung Woo! I'm sorry, I'm such a spaz, you guys probably think I'm a total weirdo." Her lips clamp shut as she turns a darker shade of red, then stares down at her feet. Way to go, Fawn. Now they really -will- think you're a total dork. And...you're still not wearing shoes.

Lloyd Lapranto's hand was busy, writing feverishly on his paper. He was in his favorite class, Ancient Civilixations, and currently his class was being assigned an in-class essay, to "note their progress" as his teacher, Ms. Snyder, so blatanly put it. Behind his red framed glasses lines upon lines of scribbles jumped out at him. For Lloyd, it wasn't so much a matter of not knowing the needed information, but of what information to write about exactly. So many cultures one could describe, such as the mysterious Mayans, the groundbreaking marvels of the Egyptians, the genius war strategists of the Romans. When so many had sucedded in ancient history, how could one limit themselves to just one? The clock was ticking though, and in the end Lloyd reverted to the people he was always fascinated the most about, the people of Atlantis.

As the teacher called up for papers she didn't even try to hide her raised brow as she got to Lloyd's row, used to by now his fascination with them. Never mind there was no historical evidence of their existance, Lloyd was just being Lloyd and ignored proof, instead wasting his time and brains on fantasical theories and legends. As the bell rang Lloyd was glad to leave, having enough already of the teacher's ever-so-painful skepticism. He scooped his backpack up, bulging to the brim with library books, and made his way out, taking the stairs down to the ground floor, and his locker.

It clanged open as Lloyd pulled it open, it, like many of his things, old and in needing of a good oil. In went half the contents of his backpack, out came various folders and textbooks now, so he can study at home. As he completed the transaction an old photograph came loose, and fluttered to the floor. Dog-eared and yellowing, it was taken by a Polaroid Camera, so many years ago. He paused and looked down, giving it a sad smile. He closed the locker door and slung his backpack over one shoulder, leaning down to pick up the picture. He studied it for a moment, his feet already moving out towards the front of the school. He needed to hurry so he wouldn't miss his bus, but for now he allowed himself to be trapped in the wave of nonstalgia.

The photograph was of his grandfather, and a 9 year-old him, both smiling cheerfully back at Lloyd. In the background were the Easter Island Heads, and Lloyd immediately remembered the trip he took with his grandfather, to study the still-secret reason of why those statues were erected in the first place. The man came back with no answers, but Lloyd valued the trip for it introduced him to his love of the past, and finding the answers he always seeked. Still grinning, the picture was pocketed in his ripped and worn cargo pants, mind lost in memories of long ago.

"I lead a band of plundering vandals to the greatest archaeological find in recorded history, thus enabling the k i d n a p and/or m u r d e r of the royal family, not to mention personally delivering the most powerful force k n o w n t o m a n into the hands of a mercenary n u t c a s e who's probably gonna sell it to the Kaiser! Have I left anything out?!?"

"Well, you did set the camp on fire and drop us down that big hole."

"Thank you...Thank you... "

The thought of his dad in heels and jewelry made him crack up. He wiped the tears that had started forming at the corner of his eyes and took a deep breath. Good thing he composed himself in time or else he would have gone past a red light with a cop on the other corner. To avoid having Avery think he was nuts he turned to her and smiled. "I don't think my dad would like to wear any kind of jewelery that didn't belong to some sort of sports superstar. But it's for my parent's anniversary." There was a whole room in the back of his dad's den dedicated to jocks. Personally it creeped him out to have so many pictures of men in uniforms stare at you blankly when you walked into the room. Maybe the pearls wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Josh glanced at her to see what she was asking about. He found it a little strange that she didn't recognize the seat belt. "You got it. Those things can be a nuisance. That's why I choose not to wear them," he said with small grin.

♭ Not being able to keep from it, Kung Woo grinned as Fawn made her grand appearance rather…not that grandly. She was really cute, Kung Woo was starting to realize – in the sense, of course, that she was so sloppy and nervous and jittery she passed for cute.
Kung Woo looked over Fawn’s shoulder at the father and waved, flashing a toothy grin, before being cut off with the shutting of the front door. Inwardly chuckling, he turned to look at the slightly – well, not slightly…but Kung Woo was looking at it that way – overreacting girl with the dripping wet hair and… Kung Woo glanced down at her feet. Bare feet – again. Allowing his lips to curl upward in a smile, Kung Woo wondered if Fawn was just forgetful or she just plain didn’t like wearing shoes.

x ♮ Taken aback by her sudden stream of questions, Kung Woo held up her shoes to attempt to stop her from asking any further. “Whoa, there…we just came to return these,” he chuckled, shaking his head lightly at her continuation of rambling on and turning brighter and brighter shades of red. Somehow, he found that kind of cute – the way she was stuttering in front of him and trying to explain herself when she’d started out slightly accusing him and Ashelin. Handing Fawn the shoes once the girl had stopped talking, Kung Woo patted her hand and decided to try and easen up the situation by making a joke, winking at her as he said, “Better keep your eye on those,” and wondering what her response would be to that.
Stepping back, he added, “And the little Animal Cracker incident?” he shrugged, smiling toothily. “No biggie. I like them. The Animal Crackers. …No, scratch that – I love Animal Crackers, now that you’ve introduced me to them.” Smiling wider, he added, as another mini joke, “Now you’ve inspired me to join the National Animal Cracker Fund and buy millions of cartons of crackers so that the money can go to making more.”

♭ Fawn had previously made an assumption – that they thought she was weird…? “I don’t think you’re weird at all, Lydia,” he said, remembering her real name for a minute. Deciding to turn that into a joke as well, he added, his tone of voice reminding Fawn that he was joking, “Weird? …Naw… But special? Definitely.” Laughing, he stared into her eyes, his laugh dying down a bit. “Oh, yeah…I just remembered. You haven’t answered me yet.” His chocolaty eyes twinkled as Kung Woo suddenly thought of a good way to tease Fawn. He might have been teasing her a bit too much, but she was so cute – he just couldn’t resist.

x ♮ After winking at Ashelin, Kung Woo cleared his throat, bending down so he was on one knee, like he was about to propose. Reaching out and clasping Fawn’s free hand that wasn’t holding the returned shoes into his own, he asked in a melodic, singsong voice, “Will you, Miss Lydia Fawn, go to Homecoming with me, Kung Woo, and the other lovely lady present, Miss Ashelin…uh…” Suddenly, the Asian boy realized that he didn’t know Ashelin’s last name. Tilting his head upward to look at Ashelin upside down, he waited until she gave him her last name before looking back at Fawn. “And Miss Ashelin Maxwell?” Smiling as he awaited Fawn’s – no doubt – promising answer, Kung Woo continued to kneel.

Danny sat still poking him and trying to wake him up. She couldn't really believe that she was doing this or that the fact someone other than her was still here. "Hey, come on! Wake up!" she said, poking him harder. She didn't mean to but he wasn't waking up at all.

When Brandyn woke up Danny was surprised that he actually knew her name. She had never talked to much people and they never talked to her. "Yeah, you are still here." Danny smiled and chuckled lightly. Danny didn't want to laugh really loud or hard. One, she would seem weird and two, she snorts when she laughs. "Oh you know my name?" she asked. "Anyways, I'm like you. I dozed off in the class room. Yet I'm not sure what your doing on the steps." Danny was surprised he was there. Who would sleep in front or near the school at all.

Roze rubbed the bits of bark off her hands. She lifter her hands to her mouth and gasped as he fell. Ouch. That was something she hadn't intended on causing. The quick bubbling laughter she felt died down. Quickly she closed the distance between them and pulled him up with two hands by the wrist. Smiling quickly at him she ran to get his glasses and brought them back, putting them into his palm. "Sorry about that. Now she really felt sorry for scaring him and then causing this. "You're ok though. Right?" she asked looking him over worriedly.

What if he wasn't alright? What if something had broken? Her parents would never let her live it down. Much less the fact that this would be the second time she got into trouble with a boy. She pushed back the bangs from her eyes and frowned. With a sincere smile she stuck out her hand to him, "I'm Roze, the monkey who hurt you." The monkey part was right. Hopefully the hurt part would be wrong.

Lloyd was too busy looking down in the picture, lost in his own thoughts, to realize that he had walked clear out of the school, and was now next to an oak tree. At least, he noticed there was an oak tree, for he suceeded in crashing next to it. The top of his head was bent down, so it slammed straight on into the weathered trunk of the oak tree. The picture fell out of his hands, as he shut his eyes with an "OOMPH!"


It wasn't uncommon for Lloyd to bump into inanimate objects, yet it was rare that the said object talks back to him. With squinting eyes he looked up at the branches, one hand rubbing his bruised head, the other blindly pawing through the ground, to reclaim the picture. Thankfully his glasses weren't broken as they often did, so he was able to catch sight of...a girl in the branches above him. Why someone would want to climb a tall tree and risk a broken neck out of their own free will was beyond him, but he got up, still rubbing his head, and called out to the leaves above him. "Umm...I-It's q-quite alright."

Out of nowhere a girl then jumped from the tree, and landed right in front of him. He jumped back, suprised, and managed to trip over a knot in the grass, falling flat out on his behind. He flinched, his already aching head whipping back against the hard grass. slightly dazed now, he stared out in front of him, to see a blur of a girl in front of him. His glasses were knocked back a few feet behind him, so Lloyd was now practically blind. He gave a shaky smile, the hand clucthing the photograph raised to the girl. "F-First off, i meant to do that, and a little help here?"

The picture was stuffed quickly into his pocket as the girl was pulling him up, and the glasses placed back on the bridge of his nose. He quickly broke free of the girl's grasp once he was pulled up, and with his spare hand clucthed the wrist, as if her touch had burned him. "It's okay, really. I was hoping to smash into a tree today." He kept his goofy grin on, yet unaware of how that last statement came out. As the girl looked at him, still with a sense of fright, Lloyd backtracked, and smacked the front of his already aching head. She was pretty, and because of that things were only going to get worse.


Why did he act like such an idiot sometimes...? "I-I didn't mean for it to come out that way, i was just trying to be funny you know?" He reached out quickly when she offered her hand, pumping it in the air with force. "You know, just trying to be funny in front of a girl, not that i like being funny to girls, i mean i do, it's just i was just trying to act somewhat funny in front of a girl and shoot-" He jumped back a few feet, wiping his hands on his pants furisouly. "I-I'm sorry but i guess my hands got sweaty. Do your's get sweaty? Mine do when i'm with a girl thats pretty you know? Not that i think that. i mean yeah you're pretty, but i don't think pretty pretty 'cuz there's already a girl i think is pretty so wouldn't it be weird if i liked two girls that were pretty you really think that right?!"

Lloyd had fallen off the deep end, into one of his worse habits. Whenever he was uncomfortable in a situation he would ramble uncontrollaby, saying his words as if they were one giant paragrpah of garble. Needless to say this had never gotten him far with the ladies, and as the girl who called herself a monkey, something Lloyd would have loved to point out wrong, stared on, he got worse and worse. "S-S-so yeah! That's what i think. So i thank you for my glasses and if you excuse me now i should be heading off to go..someplace. not to be rude, but i do have a job and stuff so i guess bye? Yes, bye. so bye pretty tree girl!" Ashelin listened as Kung Woo did the explaining. She would have said something, but the boy was talking so fast she wasn't sure there was time to. Instead, she just stood there, nodding along to what he was saying. She started chuckling at his comment about the National Animal Cracker Fund. This kid had quite the imagination. She was certainly impressed with it thus far. "Maxwell," she supplied him when he paused, not knowing her last name.

Ashelin sincerely hoped Fawn wouldn't be too flustered to say yes. Fawn had turned out to be quite the nice girl, and Ashelin would like to get to know her better. She looked over at Fawn. "You should so come!" she added, hoping to sway the timid girl into saying yes. It would certainly make the night easier to cover up when and if her parents asked where she was headed. It wasn't like they weren't used to her heading out on a Saturday night, but she wasn't sure if they'd know that this particular Saturday was Homecoming.
