Bryce- H. -Talbert
"Just because I cannot see it..."

Bryce hurried through his shopping and rolled the basket up to the check-out lane, exhaling a sigh of relief as he picked up the copy of GQ off the top of his selections and began flipping through as he waited. Part of him was glad that his aunt let him shop for her, since he got to purchase the best items, even if the local Wal-Mart didn't carry the sort of fare to which he was accustomed. Still, since he paid for it, he never worried about how expensive it all might be and he flat-out avoided the generic brands or cheaper cuts of meat. Still, he wished there was a way to buy what he wanted without actually having to go to the store and deal with the other shoppers. He liked people most of the time, but it seemed like there was some rule that when someone was shopping for groceries, they had to be as inconsiderate and rude to other people as possible.
He glanced up from his magazine at the people in the line ahead of him, then noticed as a little old lady stepped in behind him with only a few purchases. With a small smile at her, he pulled his loaded basket back and motioned her ahead of him. "Go ahead, ma'am. I don't mind waiting and I'd hate to force you to wait for me when you have so little to purchase." Her smile and murmurs of gratitude made him feel good as she moved around in front of him, then he returned to his magazine. He always hoped that if he were nice enough to other people, his consideration would be contagious and spread until everyone in the world became a little more selfless. He loved it when people were nice, and often found himself randomly complimenting others on their clothing or hair, or helping other people without even thinking about it first. Of course, he didn't even try to reconcile that part of himself with the part that pulled pranks at school and tormented his teachers. He always just figured that his pranks were in good fun, never malicious and he always paid for any damages he might have caused.
He looked up again, noticing the line still wasn't moving, peering around at the check-out girl and the guy she was talking to, blinking as he realized they were both from his school. His gaze flicked to his basket, noting the large case of Fancy Feast on the bottom of the basket and the massive bag of litter on top of it. A soft chuckle escaped as he silently chided himself for being so vain, as if anyone would care that his aunt had a couple of cats. Besides, they were cute and he certainly spent his own time with one or both sprawled in his lap while he rubbed their tummies.
