It wasn't a perfect system. Standing by the entrance, watching the newcomers come in and look around- and maybe spotting the girl standing on the fence, way up high on the roof. Zhen had only taken her position a few minutes ago, so they had missed those who came before, and they'd probably miss the latecomers. Of course, being here now didn't mean he'd spot everyone who could see her. That's why he wasn't alone though, and also why there were other plans in place to find everyone who had the potential. For right now though, this was the only one happening.

His club wasn't the only one out here trying to get new members. Other clubs swarmed the new students, attempting to catch their eye and whisk them away. Thank god he didn't have to get involved in that sort of recruitment. Quick, startled glances, whispered conversations in horror - only to turn into confusion. He had already spotted a few such instances, and relayed descriptions of the persons to those who were out here with him. They'd do most of the finding later, when they could pull them away where revealing the Mystery Club secret wouldn't cause such a big scene.

It bothered him, though, that his little sister would be part of that group. She had arrived with himself and Giada the day before yesterday. Upon coming to the school this morning she had seen Zhen when the gift giver had approached them. Knowing Aella, she had an equal chance of saying yes as she did of no, but it was a worry he couldn't shake off. Damon knew there was no danger of actually dying, but injuries and pain were another matter, as well as the mindset one had to taken upon to willingly hurt others. Okay, he had to admit that that last one probably wouldn't be too hard for her, but- well, he worried anyway.

His gaze cut toward the school, wondering where exactly his two sisters were. Dragging his gaze back to the incoming students, Damon gave them a quick scan before turning his attention to the female at his side. Pink hair, blue eyes, and a tendency to give him flower backgrounds. "See anyone?" He didn't need to actually ask; Meredith would tell him if she saw anyone, but he felt like asking anyway. Once more scanning the maybe potential members, he added; "How long should we keep at this?" Right now was the time of day in which the bulk of the new students would be arriving, but that wouldn't last for long.

Inevitably, his gaze returned to Meredith. They hadn't had much chance to talk, and he was curious as to how her summer had gone. They had spent about a week together during summer vacation, when she had joined him and his sisters, but he hadn't seen her since then. Talked via phones, sure, but it wasn't exactly the same. On his part, he had quite a few stories to tell. That would have to wait, though.

The sooner this bit ended, the better. Besides talking to Meredith, he had other things to worry about, the top of which was finding a new club adviser. Their last one had retired, and finding a new one was pretty important. They needed someone gullible and who wouldn't poke around too much. Not exactly easy in a school which prided itself upon their teachers. Then of course was the customary cleaning of their club house - summer had collected a lot of dust, he knew. Eyes wide open, mouth agape, a look of incredulous shock. Mentally, Damon flicked a mental picture of the kid to the others. Around half of the potentials always said no, but the club was small enough that they couldn't pass up on anyone who could see Zhen.

  • The first day had always brought on memories for Mer the past two years when arriving at the school. It was easy recalling the days when she had first walked up to the school eyeing the large campus with giddiness and excitement. She remembered the rush of nervousness that she had felt when trying to calm her own nerves and reminding herself it was just school. She could always go back home. There had been that moment of shock she had felt when she had realized that there had been that strange girl standing on the fence followed by the panic and concern for the girl. As well as confusion when no one else around her was able to see the girl. It was like she had gone crazy, she had remembered. She could have sworn that some girl had been standing on the fence. But her friends all shook their heads at her. And with a fearful second gaze Meredith had turned back to where the girl was standing and Meredith could still see the girl on the fence looking down at the school. This time though Meredith made no comments to the other students who had pushed her into the school for her first day.

It hadn’t been long until she had been recruited up in the Mystery Club. All the questions she wanted had been answered. Of course with those answers had come an onslaught of new questions. Over the years Meredith had found out that the answer to one question usually meant another five more questions coming to mind. She had also learned the joys of being able to answer the questions as now it was Meredith who was looking around the see of students for potential people who might have spotted their friend on the roof and kids who would be perfect for the mystery club. From the moment she joined the club Meredith had thrown herself into the work of the club and did what she could. By her second year she was apart of the officers and now during her third and final year she was vice president. She was proud of her work with the club and being president meant she would really be able to help out the new students and show them some really important stuff. Meredith was determined to be one of the best vice presidents the club had ever seen.

Of what was a vice president without the president? Standing by her was the man of the hour, Damon. He was looking for recruits just as she was. Occasionally she could feel him in her mind sending her and image of a potential student. She would catch sight of a student. Other time she would catch sight of a student and gently nudge Damon in their direction while taking a note or two in a notebook which she had open filled with little details about potential students. Their system didn’t much talking but between the two of them. The two were both third years and had known each other since day one of their first year. It had grown into a strong friendship between the two and Meredith would rarely leave his side when it came to club activities. “Not at the moment.” Brushing her hair out of her face she scanned the crowd again keeping her eyes open and wide. “But it’s only around nine. We have all morning to watch the newbies come in. I’m sure we’ll be able to find some wonderful new candidates. Besides how could anyone resist a leader like you?” She teased gently prodding him with her pen and a small hint of a smile on her lips.

The prodding ceased with a shrug of her shoulders. “I’d give it another hour or two. I doubt anyone will come in later than that and by then most kids will be finding their swing of things. We’ll have to start working on the clubhouse soon though. I would like a head start on that.” She mentioned with an excited grin and looked to Damon. “While it’s not that I don’t trust Zhen but my garden really needs tending to. It’s been forever since I’ve had a chance to take care of it.”

She had been so excited for the start of the school year just that morning- some would say a little too excited. It had been a whole summer- a whole summer. She had missed the school. The classes, the people, the sights… especially the sights. It had been only a few days since she had returned to Miss Ena’s home, settling in with Tousty once more. She had made sure to wake up before the sun had even started to rise; she had been out the door just as the sun was rising over the horizon. She wanted to see them— wanted to talk to them. Like herself, they didn’t live in the dorms on campus. She wanted to be the first one to greet them that year. That was the whole reason she had scaled the school’s wall; why she had hung out behind that tree for hours. The whole time, she felt giddy. It was worth the risk- worth dodging Officer Sing- and then… the gate had opened and footsteps had come… The tension- the anticipation rose in her chest. Closer and closer, until… When the footsteps had drawn close enough, she had popped her head from around the trunk, trying to see as off-hand as possible. Her hand started to move to greet them, and then… a lump had formed in her throat. She hadn’t been able to so much as squeak as she caught sight of the headmaster of Occasus, and when he looked as though he were going to glance in her direction, her body moved faster than she thought it could, hiding itself from view as it dropped immediately to the ground. The bushes had definitely shifted- noisily- but after a pause, the headmaster continued on his way, allowing her time to breathe- and escape.

Hanging her head, Marjaana let loose another sigh- this time aloud. She had been so close this time too. Sticking another slice of orange into her mouth, the young woman let the sour sweetness of the orange to pervade her mouth. The orange surely understood her. She had thought that she had gotten better in the last year that she had been at the high school. It didn’t seem like it though… Even in the cafeteria, she seemed hyperaware of every single male in the room. Sitting with her back against the wall, the junior’s feet hung off the edge of the seat. For the first years, it must have seemed strange. The girl was crouched in her seat- practically showing off her spats to those who tried to peek under the table. It was comfortable this way though. She could jump up and over the table easily, and the combination of breast and knees made for a decent pillow to mope on… however… there was no more time for moping!

Hopping up onto her feet, the girl paid no heed to the curious eyes that landed on her. A couple of light smacks to the cheek came to linger, squishing her face together as she forced a smile. She definitely felt bummed for missing her chance, but she’d get another one, right? Of course she would! They were in the school just like her! It was impossible to not get another chance! ”Hey!! Sit down in your chair!” a teacher snapped from elsewhere in the room, causing the girl to giggle. "Yes, ma’am!” she called, even as the teacher turned her attention to the rest of the student body. Jumping to the floor, the Belarusian girl couldn’t help but to feel like she was back at her school once more. Her grandmother might have worried for her, but… she felt that she was better here. There was always something to do- always something delicious to eat.

Swiping the rest of her orange off the table, Marjaana stuck a piece of the rind into her mouth, chewing on it as she carefully traversed the length of the cafeteria. She might not have improved on her ability to stick around guys since entering, but… they weren’t all bad. The Mystery Club had showed her that much, even if she didn’t admit it to them all. She definitely would have been the most comfortable if she had stayed in the sewing club with all of its girls, but… that girl had said it, right? Everyone wanted the prize at the end of the game. Her reluctance- her fear had robbed her of some of that prize, but… it was fine. She didn’t need to be completely safe. She just wanted enough luck to avoid the life she had rolled. She wanted to be able to walk out there without anything holding her back. To talk with them without a stutter. To know that she couldn’t be hurt by them. Even if she lost the game… it would be worth it if she could grow stronger. She just wanted to overcome her anxiety. Perhaps she should have taken another crack at it. Go find some of the other members. She’d be stronger with another girl around.

                                                        • Fianlly he had come home, to his real home. The city was never a place that Kole called home. But the small farm that his grandparents worked and lived on had always been his home. And when he had come back this early summer, he was overjoyed. He hadn't seen them in years, his father never letting him return to the country side and this small town. Coming back here even for a sort while had been a dream come true. But when he got the call from his step mother that his father had died in a car accident and that she did not want him to return to their home in the city, Kole was more than overjoyed. Sure he was sad over losing his father, but the old man had paid no attention to him until Kole was ten and then dragged him against his will to live in a place he hated. Kole's father had never been a good one, even though he seemed to be trying.

His father doted more on his new wife and baby than his older son, and never once brought up Kole's mother, even though the child asked all the time about her. Kole's grandparent often talked about his mother, saying how lovely she was, how generous and kind, a woman that loved life and wanted nothing more than to see her baby boy grow up to be a fine young man. Kole loved the stories of his mother, and it hurt that his father had pretended like she never existed. After a short mourning time for his father, Kole was allowed to enter the local highschool. Living with his grandparents he has found it both a delight and miracle to be able to be back in his true home and to be reunited with old friends.

The school was amazing though, practically a private one with kids living in dorms and having their own lives. Kole chose to live on the small farm with his grandparents though, keeping close to them and taking a bus and riding a bike several miles each day to get back and forth to the school. He had only been here a year already but it felt like a lifetime since he left the city. He never wanted to return there, this small town life was perfect for him. When he had come back, the young blue haired man never knew what would happen. He had gotten back in contact with an old friend when he thought he was just visiting, but when he found out he would be staying he sought out Kyriakos and try and rekindle there childhood friendship. But the boy had changed, and was vastly different from the once scared and lonely child that needed a shoulder to cry on when he got bullied.

Now it seemed that there were multiple sides of Kyriakos, one calling itself Matteo and being a buff protector of the small and still fragile Kyriakos. Kyriakos had been the main reason for Kole to chose Occasus High, seeing his once good friend up set the way he was, and dealing with split personas, it made Kole feel guilty for ever leaving Kyriakos in the first place. When he followed his once friend to Occasus Kole never knew what he was really in for. A year ago today, attending the First Day events, Kole had seen a strange thing. A girl was standing on the fence looking about the crowds as if she was looking for someone. Kole rushed from Kyriakos' side to see if she needed help, but the giel only stared at him while others around him have looks of confusion and bewilderment. It didn't take long before he was pulled aside by the Mystery Research Club and told of what was going on.

Kole could still barley remember that craziness of that day and what it meant. The girl, Zhen, was some sort of gift giver, and the gift that she had offered Kole was strange and allowed him to do many things he never thought possible. The only way that Kole even said yeas was became Kyriakos always said yes to the gift and the club. Kyriakos had been able to see her, though it seemed most of the other students could not. To this day Kole was still confused about all of it. The fighting, the battles, the powers. All of it was bizarre and crazy, and answers to some questions only led to more questions. Kole had finally decided to put the questions aside to try and focus more on his friends and studies.

The club came secondary to him, and though the fighting part of it irked him, the community it made, though small, was a tight one. Kole felt like he almost had a second family. Riding his bike over the pavement, the blue haired male grinned inwardly, his headphone blasting music into his ears as he sailed over the concrete. It was his third year, in highschool, he would be going to college next year, hopefully getting a degree in agriculture to help out his grandparents. But for now, he had to make sure he passed. Kole was not the best of students, though not the worst, but he wanted to make good grades his last semester to look better for universities. Plus he wanted to make his grandparents and deceased mother proud.

Seeing the school in the distance, Kole smirked and began to peddle faster. He wanted to get to the school as soon as possible, to see his friends. It took a few minutes, but once at the main gate Kole could see Zhen on the roof. He smiled at her and gave a small wave. She smiled in return, but as always did nothing more. At the gate stood the club's president and vp. Hopping off his bike by swinging a leg over, the blue haired boy smiled down at the two other third years. "Yo, see and good new people?" He asked as she walked through the throng of first years coming in, all excited for the clubs, activities and their first day on the campus. Kole kinds hoped they wouldn't get too many people in the club, the fighting was hard on one's soul and mind. Ringing the little bell on his bike without touching it, the blue haired boy's smirk turned to a saddened smile. Hopefully Kyriakos would be okay next year without him here. Turning back to the head honchos he returned to his normal cheerful smile. "You guys have a good summer? Have any plans for today?"

    It was happening again.

He was left in front of the school on his own and was being drowned in the crowd, being pushed along by the wave and it was all out of his control. He held on tightly to the book in his hands, his eyes frightened as they darted about trying to find some way to escape. He wanted his dad. Why did daddy have to leave me again?! The panicked thought was loud and clear. He was alone and he was scared and he was not looking forward to this.

He was bumped forward and he squeezed his eyes shut as other students pressed around him. He had to get out, he was feeling trapped. He didn't like this! I don’t want to be here!

Neither do I, but dad isn’t here and we agreed to go through with this, so open your eyes and keep moving. We’re not going to be trampled.

    B-but Matteo—!

    Move!

A girl screamed nearby and he jumped when she bumped into him while she ran to meet friends and started to chatter away excitedly about the summer. His arms tightened around his book and he shied away. Why couldn’t Matteo do this? Or Kyrian? They were both better at this. Why leave him all alone…? A sigh passed his lips and he continued to try to worm his way through the crowd. Maybe if he pretended to be smaller than he was, he wouldn’t be seen and no one would draw any attention to him. He just had to get in, find a quiet place to read in the library and hide there until 11. His first actual meeting with the nurse wasn’t until after that. At least… if he remembered correctly.

Another bump from behind and he stumbled. The students apologized, but Ciri wanted to cry as he rubbed the spot on his shoulder that had been banged. His bottom lip quivered and he bit it hard to try to stop it. Mommy would be angry if she saw him crying. He quickly wiped at his face and took a deep breath, looking up to try to stop the tears and again he came to an abrupt stop and banged into again. This time, he heard people saying something to him, but he wasn’t listening. There was a girl… on the roof? Why? Wasn’t that dangerous?

Shyly pulling at the sleeve of the first year next to him, Ciri wordlessly pointed at the roof. ”What? I don’t see anything.” The guy looked confused as he stared and then looked at Ciri as if expecting him to do something. Ciri blinked and looked back up at the roof. The girl was still there. Pale grey hair and standing on the school roof. ”I t-t-thought I s-saw some…someone… s-sorry,” His voice was soft and had a tremor of fear. This guy would be angry! It was probably his imagination running away on him again. Matteo was angry, telling him to stop talking to the guy and hurry away.

And that’s exactly what Ciri did. He pushed through the crowd, brushing past the students standing around trying to get people to join their clubs. He wasn’t interested in any of them. All he wanted was a nice quiet place to read and maybe work his way through some logic puzzles. He needed to take a deep breath and relax and when he looked up at the school roof again, the girl would be gone. Ciri chanced a look. She was still there. Yep, he just needed to focus on something. Ms. Davies said he always had an active imagination. Thinking of her now made him smile. Maybe there would be a teacher here like Ms. Davies! She was nice and made the day go by so fast that the had not even remembered the fact that daddy had left him behind until it was time to go home!

The streets of Moenia were quiet. Only the sound of footsteps jogging on by echoed softly on the pavement. It was still early, the peaceful town only now beginning to stir to life at 6 am. A hooded figure trotted past numerous homes, stopping every now and then to jog in place. Rie had spent the whole summer in Moenia Town with her aunt so she was well aware of how to lap around this particular neighborhood. Today would probably be the last morning that she'd jog around here, until the next time she came to visit at least. It was Rie's first year of high school and she attending the only school around for miles, Occasus. If the status quot at home didn't break, she would have been home in Tokyo, starting her high school years as a leader of a group no one dare mess with. She missed her old life even if her parents hadn't paid much attention to her. It was better that way. She had learned to adapt to that. Now she was somewhere totally foreign and she wasn't exactly sure how she would go about it. Well when had Rie ever been the planning ahead type? Thinking on her feet was the best way of living in her opinion. Starting over was still a pain in the a** though.

She made her lap back home, finding her aunt already awake in the kitchen preparing some food. "Good morning~" Yuka was a cheery thing, something Rie didn't necessarily mind. "Yo." She pulled down her hood, revealing raven hair with a colored streak. She was informed breakfast would be ready soon so she took the time to shower and finally wear the uniform that arrived a few days earlier. The pleated black skirt was a little too long for her taste. Maybe she'd cut it if nobody would be a**l about it. Then again it was suppose to be this high end school right? Well that certainly wouldn't stop her from wearing her favorite jacket. She felt her energy tenfold the moment she put it on. A red skull with horns was etched in the back with Japanese characters that meant a lot to her. It was her legacy. A legacy no one would be aware of now... that was depressing.

Rie made her way down stairs, hair tied in a ponytail, and proceeded to inhale her breakfast before Yuka was halfway finished with her oatmeal. "Ready." Rie dropped her spoon in the bowl and that was that. Maybe deep down she'd begun to embrace the idea of a fresh start. She'd certainly get a kick out of knowing her parents failed in trying to change her. There was no way that was happening. Rie put her shoes on at the entrance. The final touch was the pair of sunglasses she slipped on, earning a comment from her aunt about looking like a delinquent. Yuka got an annoyed face and scoff in return. That was the ******** point.

Yuka took their time together in the car to re-explain all the rules to Rie as well as things regarding her dorm and what not. "Yeah, yeah, yeah." She was way more focused with the portable game in her hands, her tongue sticking out in concentration. "...And please show some ladylike manners, will you?" Yuka pushed at sneakers resting on her dash. Rie only gave her meanest pout at the suggestion. It was only a matter of minutes before the car rolled up in front of the school.

Rie stuffed her game in her backpack and swung it over her shoulder when she got out. She ignored her aunt's last words with a wave - something along the lines of be good or whatever. She proceeded to scope the place out. It was easy to see who was who; nervous first years, cocky second years, and third years who'd been through some s**t. She wondered what she looked like to other but then she remembered she didn't give a rat's a**. She finally walked her way up to the gates, ignoring the students talking about their clubs. She took a glance at the sky instead before stopping in her tracks. Was she seeing things? Was there really a girl standing on the fence of the school roof? "The hell?" She pulled down her shades just to make sure. Where was the commotion? The panic? Someone should be freaking out about this. It wasn't going to be her but still. The way most people were acting made this seem like a normal thing. "Girls standing on roof fences, totally normal here. Got it." She shrugged and continued on, not aware of who might have heard her.

Damon couldn't help the smirk that twitched his lips, nor did he want to. "Leader like me, eh? Ha, I'm more likely to scare people away." The reputation he had gained during his first two years here had not exactly been a good one. More than a few people went out of their way to avoid him. If Meredith hadn't befriended him on their first day of their first year, he was certain the number that avoided him would be much greater. Scanning the crowd, Damon spotted a kid pointing up at Zhen, much to another person's confusion. Slipping his image into the minds of his club members, Damon went back to searching.

"I'm sure your garden is fine. Zhen probably slept all summer and all your flowers have turned into a miniature jungle." He honestly wouldn't be surprised if it had. "I'm more worried about the condition of the club house." If someone had left food out like someone had during his first and second year, he would not be happy. That was only a distant worry, however. Damon had made sure he was the last to leave at the end of the year, and had double checked everything. No, what he was really worried about was the dust. Usually the school dealt with those things, but the Mystery Club had signed off on that who knows how long ago. No reason to let outsiders snoop around their club when they could avoid it.

A voice caught his attention, and, turning, he saw Kole, another third year. "Mornin'." He shrugged lightly in response to Kole's first question, adding; "A few maybes." A red streak in otherwise dark hair caught his eye, in perfect timing, apparently. The girl was looking at Zhen, so he sent her image to the others. "It was alright." More than alright - especially that one week. "You? A few plans, but for now we're just looking for recruits. Later we'll need to actually track 'em down and see if they'll join. We also need to clean the clubhouse."

Returning his gaze back to Kole, he added; "You wanna join us?" Kole had not been part of the group he had been sending pictures to, though he had almost done so upon the blue-haired male's arrival. Looking for recruits was voluntary, so Damon wouldn't drag Kole into it unless he said yes to joining. His phone buzzed in his pocket, momentarily distracting him, but he ignored it. His gaze was already back on the crowd, searching. Now was the best chance to find recruits, and he wasn't going to waste it.

So even though he wanted to look at the person next to him, he didn't. He could talk to her without looking though. "If you wanna skip out and go check on your garden Mer, feel free." He didn't exactly want her to leave - she was helpful, spotting just as many first years as he did, plus... well, she was his friend. Of course he enjoyed her company. Still, he knew her garden was important to her, and he didn't want to keep her from it. "Gi and Ae would probably help you if you asked." Maybe. Who knew with those two? Pietra would for sure - she liked working in gardens. His youngest sister was five years too young for Occasus, though.

  • It was almost laughable how Damon put his leadership skills down over the sheer fact he did not have the bubbly personality that she had. “Only for the first five minutes till they realize what a softie you are underneath all that mister mean façade you have.” Sure he didn’t have the best reputation, not even amongst the club but in Meredith’s opinion he was a great leader and no one should doubt him, especially himself. That’s what Meredith thought at least. “Besides a good leader doesn’t necessarily mean a warm fuzzy nice leader. Sometimes really good leaders aren’t like that and they’ll actually get the work done. I know the clubhouse isn’t going to be as bad as it was last year, thanks to your miraculous leader skills. Give yourself more credit Damon. If anyone deserves to be leader of the club it is most certainly you.” And every word she said she meant full heartedly. Damon had such heart and willpower when it came to something he enjoyed and Meredith knew how much he put into the Mystery Club and how much more he was going to put in this year. She was worried that he would end up killing himself by the end of year. He needed more relaxing hobbies. Like gardening.

Though the thought of her garden at the school being turned into a jungle was a bit nerve wrecking. She had worked so hard over the past two years to perfect the garden. A little help with the upkeep during the summer would have lovely. Though Mer had a slight idea what she would be coming back to. “Well I suppose it won’t be too hard to take care of.” Gardening wasn’t that bad when you had some lovely gardening powers to help you out. It was good practice, not that she didn’t get a ton of practice over the summer as it was. Summer was one of the best times to use her powers after all. “Well if it’s a jungle just imagine all the flower crowns that I can decorate you with. Not to mention your office with! I shall definitely have fun with this.” She said looking away
from the crowd to glance at him amused. “If you help me with the garden I’ll help you with the club house. We’ll get it done in no time.”

For a moment a fellow interrupted the conversation between the two. Kole was a third year like them and Meredith even shared a slight common ancestry with him. Sure England and Welsh were a little different but it was good enough for Meredith to find common ground with him. “Good morning Kole! Wonderful to see you again this year.” She giggled lightly and scanned the crowd looking for potential students and occasionally taking a few notes in her notebook. “As Damon said there are a few good candidates out there.” She looked at some of the people Damon had sent to her mind. One caught her interest in particular. He was a boy who looked lost and scared. Oh Meredith could feel her heart break at the sight of him. “That boy looks like he is going to have a heart attack the poor dear. He looks like he needs us sooner rather than later. I’m going to bring him over here.” She told Damon stepping away from him so her next actions wouldn’t interrupt Damon too much. She waved her hand over her head and pointed to the boy. “Could you come here for a moment dear?”

She glanced over her shoulder and grinned a bit at Kole. “Any summer is a good summer that I get to bother our fearless leader. Damon invited me over for a week. Never had more fun in my life. Well except maybe the first week I met Damon. That first week of terrorizing him was the best.” She commented remembering her first week with Damon. Oh what a time to be alive that was. She was sure Damon was going to lose it on her eventually. Somehow though she got through to him. Meredith isn’t sure how they became such good friends and how she got through but she was glad she did. Sometimes though it felt like he pushed her away. Like right at this moment. “Like you can get rid of me that easily. Nope you’re stuck with me for the day mister. We have too much club work to do. You’ll work yourself to death before term even starts if I don’t help.”

Tomi gave a yawn as he was heads deep in papers, documents and various stacks of folders and what ledgers. Welcome to the life of Tomi on the first day of the school year. He was handling the budget of not only the Mystery Club but half a dozen other clubs that have asked him for help. His ability to manage club funds perfectly was a well known across the school so many clubs have appointed him for work. Tomi didn’t mind of course, he loved doing this kind of thing. It meant at least it will be less work for him through the year as rarely does his budget plans ever go wrong. However it did mean out of the entire club, his first day was the busiest. He was running a little behind since trying to sort through the Mystery Club budget was always an endeavour. He had to take into account many things since they owned their own club building, the maintenance of it did not come cheap and that was what he spent most of his time with. Thankfully he could cut a lot of shortcuts in it, since Meredith tended to the garden herself that was an expense taken off and Tomi and Damon handled most of the repairs when things go broke. Still there was a lot to take into account and while they received quite a high portion of club funds it was still a tough balancing act.

Tomi sorted through allocating budget for the basic things they would need, now he looked over at three separate files that were things the Damon, Meredith and (Secretary) wanted personally. These were always fun to look through to see what kind of outlandish things they wanted. Firstly he looked at Damon one and gave knowing sigh. Damon has wanted a building extension on the club to facilitate his own dojo/gym. Tomi did the costs of that of that in his mind and of course that was rejected once again. However Tomi want for more snacks, well he specified dark chocolate but Tomi decided variety was better was well within their budget. He set it to the side to decide just how much he would like to allocate to it. He took Meredith one and had glance over it and gave a laugh. She wanted the garden to be extended but of course she didn’t give him any details on just by how much. Knowing her she would want to quadruple it size and that was well out of the budget. Though if she just wanted an extra patch he wouldn’t mind giving her the budget to do so. He guessed he needed to go to confirm the size. He needed to take a break anyway.

Taking the file with him he left the club building. He guessed she would be at the School gate scouting out potential recruits along with Damon. This was handy since he wanted to confirm what he had of the budget with him. Two birds with one stone, nice and efficient. He did best to ignore the small grove of trees that he would have to pass through to reach the school gates. Tomi has been scared of trees ever since he was little, no one knows why since Tomi never talked about it as even the word tree would give him jitters. He has grown used to walking through the section by closing his eyes and walking based on memory which wasn’t too hard.

Once he knew he was out of the tree area he would open his eyes and carry on as normal. It didn’t take him long to reach the front of school and proceed to the school gates. Meredith was easy to spot as her colour always stood out. He saw Damon next to her and nodded approvingly, his plan of making his trip efficient was a success. Heading over to them ”Good Morning you two, I see you two are busy” Tomi said. A little joke of course, it wasn’t like they didn’t have a busy first day. Finding new members was a task in itself and Tomi would often help out once was finished managing the budget. ”Here is the club budget this year, tell me if there is anything you want changed” Tomi said handing over the file to Damon and then looked over at Meredith. ”Mere, regarding your garden extension did you mean a small little addition or a botanic sized extension cause I’m only allowing one of them” Tomi asked and then he noticed Kole. ”Oh Kole, I hope the summer break treat you well?” Tomi said as he looked at the people moving into the school. Just who oh who will he see in their club over the coming days. It was hard to tell but already he could feel potential recruits in the air.

ʟᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ :: School Gates xxxx ᴍᴏᴏᴅ :: Neutral xxxx ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀɴʏ :: Damon, Meredith, Kole

Left step, right step, then another left step. Walking was a simple task, as easy as breathing, yet Aella was having some difficulty with it at the moment. Who could blame her? Having just been informed that her siblings were something akin to school soldiers ( okay, not really ) was pretty shocking. Not that they had the ability or prerequisite for it - they were Damon and Giada, after all, they were just those sort of people - but the fact that they had hid it so well. Usually Pietra just had to look at them curiously and secrets would spill forth. Not just that, but Aella had no problems with digging through her siblings things, and had known pretty much every secret they cared to have. Yet they had managed to hide this one so well. What other secrets were they keeping from her?

Eyeing the blue-haired female walking next to her, Aella built conspiracy on top of conspiracy in her mind, formulating all sorts of scenarios that led to more and more secrets. Only to give an unladylike snort and dismiss them all. "So is that Mer lady and Damon dating?" Aella had first met her when Meredith had joined them for a week over summer vacation. Well, that had been the only meeting really. Sure, she had seen Meredith - briefly - just a few moments ago, but Damon had shooed both her and Giada away before greetings could even be exchanged. This was the first time Aella had voiced her suspicions, but seeing them during that week was the source. Usually she would have teased Damon over it until he bribed her to stop, but she wanted more ammunition first.

When it came to getting ammunition against Damon, Giada was the best source.

Her gait soothed, her mind settling on other thoughts, allowing her to no longer feel like the world had shifted. Deflecting her own thoughts so as to not think about annoyances or unpleasant things was a trick she had learned early on. For all that she was mildly obsessed with considering all possibilities of things, the fact that she found it rather easy to ignore certain trains of thoughts was a conflict of traits. Or perhaps it was due to her obsessed thinking? Something she'd have to look up later.

Which reminded her... pulling out her phone, Aella typed a quick text to Damon, before sending another one to Pyxis, asking the girl where she was. Tucking her phone back into her pocket, Aella returned her gaze to Giada. "You know when Damon plans to gather the recruits?" She should have asked with the text, as Giada knowing was a fifty-fifty chance, but the other thought plaguing her had been more thought consuming at the time. "Or, no, is there any time today Damon promised you cookies?"

Wouldn't asking Giada the same question she had asked Damon be fruitful? At the very least the two would give her differently worded answers, and that in and of itself was good enough reason to. "Is there anyway to know what power you'll get beforehand?" It was part of a thought that wouldn't leave her alone, and one she had been poking at since Damon had given her a brief explanation. Aella still wasn't sure over whether or not she would join the club. After all, she had interests that she would love to pursue, rather than wage some fight over- why were they raging a fight anyhow? She'd attend the explanation to get answers, she decided, having been unsure of even that until now.

As for actually joining... well, she would leave the decision until later that day. Wasn't as if she had to decide right that very second, so she wouldn't.

A lazy as Adrian was, he actually arrived early to schoool. Only because his older sister, Marisol, had driven him the moment they arrived in Moenia Town. She was staying in town for a few days before returning to their parents villa back home. She said something about it being a nostalgia trip for her to see Occasus again. The two had walked around campus together after she acquired a visiting pass and Adrian was all too enthusiastic about showing her around grounds she already knew. Every now and again she'd catch Adrian smiling towards the roof. It was too bad she could never see Zhen as her brother could. Adrian considered himself lucky to see what his sister didn't.

She finally left after walking to Adrian's new dorm, both of them surprised to see it was a double, but with no roommate to be found just yet. He immediately flopped on his bed and snuggled his soft pillow. "Like a fluffly cloud." His face was full of bliss. Thoughts drifted to his Mystery Club friends and then to Damon who he hadn't seen yet. Green eyes began to droop but he took out his phone anyways to try and write a text to his best friend. Unfortunately he just sent a illegible string of gibberish before passing out briefly.

"Come back...lemme pet youuuu~" The brunet did have a habit of talking in his sleep... It was a few rolls later when Adrian's face met the floor which abruptly woke him up. "Owww!" Crocodile tears welled in his eyes as his rubbed his banged nose while laying helplessly on his stomach. Running his fingers through dark locks, he wondered how long he was asleep for. He was missing all the fun of finding new first year friends! "Hmmm...Food or friends?" He sat up and drew circles on the floor with his fingers in contemplation. He heard a rumble from his stomach which answered the question for him. He could still make friends on the way!

Walking the halls brought up many memories from his first year. Getting lost, glomping his friends, almost failing; good times. He hummed loudly with the music blasting from his headphones and waved to everyone he passed, not minding the strange looks he received. Getting closer to the cafeteria, Adrian stopped in his tracks. He spotted a head of long, blue hair he was familiar with. His excitement took priority over his hunger now. "HEY JAANA!" Several students in front of him flinched. "OH I FORGOT TO TURN DOWN THE VOLUME SORRY!" He apologized just as loud in a sheepish tone. He stopped the music and ran up to Marjaana before she could get away. He oozed an aura of happiness, oblivious to the fact that she probably wanted to disappear at the moment. "Hiii~ I missed you!" They weren't that close, but Adrian considered any Mystery Club member as a friend. "I would hug you, but you didn't like it the last time I did that. Which made me kinda sad..." His expression drooped, but was quickly replaced with a beaming smile. "But that's okay! I'm so happy I found someone I know!" He inched closer to her anyway. He never quite wrapped his head around her anxiety towards men. Then again he barely knew what anxiety felt like. "Sorry, am I being scary?" He frowned with wide eyes.

"Wake up, Ishi! Ishi, wake up!" came the rhythmical sing-song-like tone of Garret and Sloan, both still in their pajamas and jumping on his bed. The dark-skinned boy laid their half-awake as the two younger boys bounce on and off his mattress. "Ok. Ok! I'm up! Stop it already. Go disturb other people." He sat up and held his siblings by their shirts and tossed them out of their room. Ah, yes, the boys are in one room while the girls are in the other room, much to his distaste. This was why he did not even bother to get his alarm going the night before. His siblings were the one who wakes up early to disturb every sleeping members. He's grateful about it but then he regrets it every single morning. Now, though, there is no time to argue and scold to them about jumping all over him. He'd have to go to school early for the Welcome/Open ceremony in Occasus for the first day of school.

"Ishi! Breakfast is on the table. Don't forget to clean it before you go. I'm off." Vilma called from across the hall. "Yes, Ma," he replied. He then would hear her call her older sister and brother too about the same thing. He hurried up buttoning his uniform and dragging his things behind him as he took his seat on the dining table. Philipp and Dione's plates are still there as well as Rudolph's. It seems that their father will be staying at home today. "Phil, Di is so mean!" The two younger boys called out as they run across the room looking for their older brother. Dione then came after them, all flustered and red faced. "Its your fault!" She sat herself on the table and ate, pouting. His sister left before him after finishing her plate and Ishana called to his older brother before going. "Phil, I'm going; first day." One loud "a'ight" came echoing before Ishana closed the door and went his way. Today, he took his skates to school. He had his earphone up and his gears in place before rolling to the direction of the school.

The Moenia Town is a nice cozy little thing with lots of fresh air and hectares of land to cover. That Salty Mountain is yet to be conquered by him. He's assuming that such deep forest hides mysteries. Smiling to himself, Ishana had decided to join whatever occult club there is in the school and if there is none, he'd start one. He'd just have to convince people to join. It would be hard but not impossible. But if it is somehow seem impossible, he'd settle for the nearest occult-like club. And if worse, comes to worst, he'll not join any at all. All is planned. Plan A to D are set and laid with their conditions and all that is missing is the reality of them all. So, Ishana hurried up across the plane road to Occasus High.

Taking hurried deep breaths behind his scarf, he somehow did not anticipate the long slope up to the school. He was silent and scolding at himself for that. He's just thankful he managed to pull himself together and skate up the slope. Slowly riding his roller blades to the school doors, he could already hear the noise of crowds of people all bundled up together. And to think he still have his earphones on too. Gliding his way across the school ground, zigzagging to avoid people. He wanted to go inside already. The chill is starting to creep up on his body and he's starting to shiver. Rubbing his hands together, he stopped somewhere in the grounds, looking around for a path to take that will lead him inside. Unfortunately, he could not find any.

Mopping around, he managed to squeeze himself to one corner before he slip and was outbalanced. Ishana had protected himself before falling but he couldn't fight gravity at all. He sighed as he laid there. Then someone caught his attention. That someone was on the edge of the rooftop fence. Mouth agape and and eyes not leaving the figure, Ishana pulled his earphones down and waved at the person above them to see if she can see him. Apparently not. He was afraid to take his eyes off the figure in fear that it will disappear. His excitement is rising as he continue to stare up at her as he lay there. "This place is awesome."

She had only managed to move a couple of feet from the cafeteria’s door before a loud shout had caused the girl to audibly cry out. The abruptness of it all had been enough to draw the girl’s arms into herself as she tried to make herself as small as she possibly could in the crowded hallway- as though this could somehow make her invisible. To top it all off, whatever juice was left within the orange in her hands had dribbled… well, everywhere. Her hands, the floor, and the nearby walls were expected to get some splash from the sudden juicing, but it was never so clean with Jaana. While the gift Zhen had given her had its uses, it was difficult to “turn it off;” a powerful sneeze could easily reach someone on the other side of a football field.

"H-Hi—Hello… A…drian…” Out of all the male members that she could have run into, there were two in particular that made the girl uncomfortable- through no fault of their own. Adrian was one of those people. He was friendly- extremely sociable. In most cases, that was a good thing. For Marjaana though, that sort of behavior made her life akin to a living hell. The only thing that made the second year male better than the other one—a third year by the name of Meical— was that he had at least learned that she didn’t want to be touched by him. Even that, though, seemed to be doubted by the female. He had approached her with that exuberant energy, and her first motion was to assume the most pathetically defensive position her body would allow her, readying to throw the intimidating creature off her as quickly as she could if it, indeed, happened.

"I… I’m… sor-ry?” As usual, the Spaniard seemed to be going at a million miles per hour. Had he been a girl, it might have been incredibly cute to watch. If he had been a girl, she might have been able to say that she had missed him too. Adrian didn’t mean any harm. He was a good person. She should have felt bad for acting like she was. As though to apologize for it all, a quivering hand had begun to inch outward toward the boy to pat him on the head, however… … the girl had never meant to get so close as to touch the lad. When Adrian had moved in closer, her fingertips came to graze one of his sleeves. "Hiiiii!!” In a split second, it felt as though her heart had leaped out of her chest and gone running down the hallway. The juice-coated fingers quickly recoiled against her own body as the girl rocketed backwards.

Hngh… She wanted to cry—for about as many legitimate reasons as there were strange ones. They were scary… Men were really, very scary. It was as though it was the only thing that her brain could focus on, and it was disheartening to say the least. It wasn’t a normal thing that she was feeling. There were plenty of girls that were perfectly comfortable around men, and very few that were as uncomfortable around them as she was. It had taken a whole semester to even manage to speak to any guy without the added assistance of another female, and she had learned to rationalize the difference between a “good man” and a “bad man.” However, rationalization did little to stave off her nervousness or her fear. She… She didn’t want to be like this. How was she supposed to get a boyfriend? Or just be normal? She had to force herself. Force herself to not be scared. But how did one go about doing that in the first place?

"N-No… Yo-Y-You’re fine,” she had answered after some hesitation, doing her best (but failing) to give Adrian a reassuring smile, "A-Ah… Ehm… … … H-How was… your, a-ah… y-your summer…?” It wasn’t a terribly enthralling topic, but she had to start somewhere. She just had to remember to take deep breaths (something she was already forgetting) and to take it one step at a time. Be brave! For the orange’s sake!

  • Ciri continued to work his way through the crowd, looking around for someplace that seemed quiet to read. Would there really be someplace quiet out here today? There were no classes and everyone was excited trying to make friends or find new ones. Ciri just wanted to get through this day without too much trouble. If he could find Kole then everything would be okay, he was sure of it.

    But he left you, remember?

The memory made him flinch, his eyes stung with fresh tears that threatened to spill over as he remembered the day his friend left him behind. Blinking away the tears, he hurried along a little more, biting into his bottom lip and chewing on it, trying to use the pain to ignore the memory. Yes, he'd had left, but he hadn’t meant to. That’s what he said when they spent some time together last summer. Kole wouldn’t lie to him. He wasn’t like Mommy. Mommy was always lying about things and making Daddy angry. It was scary sometimes. Maybe that was why Daddy had to leave him here again. So he could talk to Mommy and try to help her. Ciri hoped she would get some help; then she wouldn’t be so mean. He didn’t know what he had done so wrong!

He shouldn't think about her right now. Daddy was helping her, and when he went home for the summer they would be one big happy family again! It had been so long since they had all been together as a family and as bad as it was sometimes, he wanted to be with Mommy and Daddy again… He just had to focus on that and he’d be fine! Well that and finding a place to read his books. There didn’t seem to be too many people over on the grass by the tree so maybe he would go there…

Not really paying attention to the pink haired girl who stepped away from the slowly growing group by the gates to start to wave at someone, Ciri would have ignored her completely were it not for the fact that when he looked at her, she gave him a look as if to say, ‘yes, you’re the one I’m talking to’. And then he froze, wondering what he had done wrong. That was the only reason she wanted to talk to him right? He must have done something wrong. No, he was being silly. There were lots of people around here trying to recruit first years for their clubs. Maybe she was just one of them. Ciri started to shake his head but paused mid motion. Hadn’t he’d just been wishing that someone like Ms. Davies was here?

An open curiosity reflected in his eyes, his expression innocent and hopeful, Ciri swallowed visibly and then walked over to her, his knuckles white around his book. ”Uh… umm…. h-hi…. “ He ducked his head and licked his lips, trying to gather some form of courage to ask his question. Taking a deep breath he looked up at her again. ”Is th-this a-a-a-about a….. about a club? I’m not umm…. I wasn’t planning t-to join any.” Except maybe for track. He liked to run. He was on the track team back in junior high and he was looking forward to doing it again. Oh… but…. Jordan wasn’t going to be here…. Sadness crossed his features for a moment before he blurted, ”Are you like Ms. Davies?” His cheeks coloured. Oops… she probably had no idea who Ms. Davies is. And she probably thought that he wasn't right for her club. Not that it was a bad thing, but he didn’t want anyone thinking he was weird on his first day. ”S-Sorry..." Shying away, he looked past her to the group she had stepped away from, the blush slowly fading away. Was that…? Was Kole in the club too or was he just one of her friends?
