Arbitrium University for the Supernatural is the oldest and more prestigious post-secondary facility for the supernatural. The exact history of the school is unknown, however it is suspected that the ideaolgies of the school date as far back as the Ancient Greek -- where demi-gods and heroes might have trained. For security reasons, the school is moved and renamed every fifteen years and is impermeable to anyone who does not know the exact location.

At any given time there are fifteen hundred student competing for the top marks and the school's Prodigy scholarship, granting the student access to any governmental career. The scholarship has lead to rivalry between many of the students and is only given out once every year. Once the student recieves this scholarship, they may leave the school (irreguardless of schooling level) and is granted "Hero" status.

The school is divided into three houses that bare various traits. Although each house has certain stereotypical association, it's not to say that they are set in stone. Many a hero have come out of House Zuda, and it's not unlikely the Prodigy scholarship goes to a member of House Charlton. Students are sorted as a result of a entry-level exam and occasionally (but not often) are sorted into a house that doesn't best suit their needs. But school law states that "one must dorm in the room of one's house, be it the heart-choice or not" for it was the founder's ideaology that dealing with things one doesn't like is good for one's soul.

Depending on student's abilities, they can choose to major in one of four subjects:


Elemental: Elementals have the ability to channel, project, and control different types of energies through their bodies. (pyromancy, aguamancy, electromancy, etc.)

Ferals: Ferals have a combination of animal and human DNA, allowing them to use the abilities of the animal DNA within them, as well as transform at will* (feline, canine, reptilian etc.)

Moleculars: Moleculars have the ability to manipulate their body structure and molecular density in various ways. Some Moleculars possess more than one ability. (invisibility, elasticity, teleportation, etc.)

Psionics: Psionics have heightened mental abilities. (telepaths, precognitives, possessors etc.)


Because all of our students are at different levels of comprehension, they all suffer from some for of mishappening at one time or another. For example one of our pyros might have a flame go out of control, or our teleporters might have part of them left behind. A feral might not be able to control when they shift, almost to the point of lycanthropy. Mistakes only made so one can grow.

Very rarely does a student have powers that fall under more then one subject, this must be acknowledged by the student in their application (see Rules) and does it occur, the student will be tested extensively. They may choose to study one or both.

On top of all of that lovely information, once a week, every Friday after supper there will be a one on one tournament for house points as well as personal advantages. Students can sign up in the main lobby (PM me) at any time to join. Match-ups will be announced on the Tuesday before, giving the competitors three days to come up with a game plan. Competition is gauged by power vest (to show "knock out" or "fatality" ) as well as technique, strategy, offensive and defensive. It's not unlikely that the tournament winner is in the top ten for eligibility to the Prodigy scholarship.

You must follow Gaia's Terms Of Service. You know, the TOS. I shouldn't even have to say that; you should be smart enough to know that this is given.

Keep your characters original and realistic...well sort of. I don't want everyone to have a sob stories. Everyone can be from different parts of the world, however they have to have gotten to their current location some how. Real pictures only. Characters should bare some sort of resemblance to their power, however that's not completely necessary. I generally don't have anything against using the celebrities, but there are some people that I cannot stand. I can't list them all off the top of my head, but if I ask you to change your faceclaim, please do it. It's nothing personal.

Posts should be pretty and they must must must must must include the following: your character's name, house and power. I would also appreciate if you put extra effort into making your posts pretty by adding quotes, colour and icons; without it being too cluttered. Your regular typing font should be between size eleven and nine. Your character should speak in colour and bold and think in colour and italic. Postcolour should probably co-relate to house -- preferred but not a necessity (i.e. Marvel would post in red or blues and Zuda in greens or purples). Because this is a literate to adv. literate role play, you should post at least three nicely sized paragraphs per post but no more then nine paragraphs. You should pm me directly with the name of the (house you want to be in). Use the reserve at the bottom of the house student list.

Because everyone is eighteen years old (or more), swearing is acceptable but not smiled upon. You should not be swearing every other word because that's just rude. We all know how much young heroes and villains enjoy each others company but if you feel the need to rip each others clothing off then please have the decency to time skip. Cybering is not tolerated on Gaia.
