The Newton twins walked onto the familiar school grounds. Isabelle ran ahead of Alexander smiling and dancing in the breeze that caused leaves to circle her body. She giggled and fixed her jean skirt for the fourth time that morning. She also fixed her light green tank top so that it stopped showing too much skin. Alex just rolled his eyes as he automatically adjusted his jean jacket so that it fit better. He looked around for Elijah, one of his best friends from last year. Isabelle noticed he was looking for someone and asked: ”Who you looking for Alex?” Alex looked at her.

“Elijah, Izzy. I’m looking for Elijah. You’re not very good at this twin mind reading thing.” Izzy giggled and cupped her hands together. A small green butterfly appeared.

”Could you find Elijah for me please?” Isabelle asked, off the butterfly left, followed closely by Izzy who now was slightly tired. It landed lightly on an Oak tree.

“Heyy Elijah! You up there?”
Cal slowly walked onto the campus. It was finally the first day of school. Cal didn't know what exactly to expect but then again he didn't expect to. He saw a couple of other people out and about. Cal really didn't see many people out and about, which half surprised him. This campus was so big he thought there were gonna be tons of people but so far he was being proven wrong.

So far he was kind of confused. He had no idea where he was supposed to be. So he decided to wander aimlessly around the campus checking it out. It looked really nice with tons of grass everywhere, but in his heart of hearts Cal realized that it was all manufactured, and thus wasn't his style.

Elijah swiftly looked down and almost lost his balance in doing so. Through the criss-crossed branches he could view glimpses of Isabelle and Alexander, the Newton twins, gazing up into the tree. Something green and fluttering caught Elijah's eye, for contrasted against the dark bark of the tree and golden hues of the leaves it was quite visible. His head tilted slightly to the right as he looked over the butterfly, and his eyes squinted as he focused on the insect. Quickly the butterfly changed into a dark purple and began to grow feathers.
Elijah smiled as he viewed his work, "Now you won't be eaten by another hungry bird," He whispered as he descended the branches.
"Did someone summon me?" Elijah asked with a smile, staring directly at the twins.
Aeryn's eyes focused on a frail leaf that was falling off the large tree that stood above her. Softly, it fell in her cupped hands, a perfect maple leaf. She smiled happily and continued to walk across the school grounds, each footsteps bringing a crunching sound to her sensitive ears. Swiftly, Aeryn began to run towards the school until she reached the outer gate. From her position she could make out a male walked, what seemed to be aimlessly, across the lawn. She took a step forward, curious about the new scent coming from the boy. It was a combination she had never smelled before. Her curiosity drew her even closer.
Cal noticed out of the corner of his eye a girl advancing towards him. She struck him as odd, something about the way she looked at him, or didn't as the case may be. It seemed like she was sniffing the air instead of actually looking.

Cal decided to stop and turn to face her. "Anything I can help you with?" he asked her, raising one eyebrow and giving a small smile.
Aeryn's head shot up, and her eyes focused on the figure. She squinted warily at him, her eyes shifting colour as a deep violet ink spread across her eyes. Her head titled to the right as she opened her mouth to respond.
"I'm lost." She said gently in a sing song voice. Though this wasn't entirely true, it was not a lie either.
"Yea, I think I am too. I'm not to worried about it, though, because I'm not really going anywhere. I have a feeling this is gonna be a problem soon but whatever, I'll swim that creek when I get there," Cal replied, tilting his head to one side.
"I'm Cal by the way," Cal continued, nodding his head at her in greeting.
Aeryn grimaced at the mention of a creek.
"I don't like water," she replied thoughtfully, "it gets my fur and feathers wet." On impulse Aeryn rubbed her back against the nearest tree delicately. Once the itching in her wings subsided, she stood and smiled warmly at Cal.
"I'm Aeryn. Aeryn Darling."
"I often run into that problem myself," Cal replied sarcastically, giving Aeryn a smile. "Are you going anywhere or just wandering like me?" he continued, inquisitively. The vibe he was getting from Aeryn was that she wasn't but it was worth asking, maybe he could find himself a destination.
Aeryn's lips pulled to the left in a crooked smile, and her eyes grew much lighter in colour until they were a bright yellow.
"Well that depends... but I tend to just wander." She answered, a light purr erupting in her throat.
Cal raised one eyebrow. "Yea, and what does it depend on?" he asked holding back a little laugh. He noticed the change in eyes but decided not to respond to it. Cal was sure that this wasn't gonna be the weirdest thing he would see in his time here.
Aeryn mimicked his raised eyebrow, and added her own smirk to the expression.
"My mood." Aeryn responded simply, beginning to pace around Cal, her feline instincts taking control.
"Really? And where's that mood leading you right now?" Cal continued asking. He couldn't help but keep a friendly smile on his face, this girl was fun. He wasn't sure why, though the pacing was kinda weird but Cal didn't worry about that. As she passed around him Cal kept his head relatively still preferring to follow Aeryn with his eyes. She would pass in and out of his vision but for the most part he could keep track of where she was using other senses.

Alex was in awe as usual, when he saw the butterfly change into a bird. "Woah. That was amazing." He smiled and looked at Isabelle, who had thrown herself into a hug with Elijah, like she did almost everytime she saw him. It was an Izzy thing.

"I'm so glad to see you! This summer was kinda bleh. Alex and I went to the cottage and yeah. What did you do?" She smiled as she moved away back to Alex.
Aeryn suddenly stopped her pacing when she was right behind Cal. Slowly she turned her head towards him, and her body followed not to soon afterward.
"It led me to you," she replied in a calm voice.
She had a feeling he would take the response in a way other than the way she meant it to be, just a simple answer, but she paid no attention to the thought.
