Knighthaven Academy [A Medieval RP] ((O/A))

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for applying to Knighthaven Academy, and we are happy to inform you that you have been accepted. As you probably already know, the neighboring countries of Terrose and Senokia have been at war for several decades, and as much help as possible is needed on the battlefield. The mission of Knighthaven Academy is to train young men and women in the arts of chivalry, magic, and dragonology to prepare them for life at war. However, we support peace, for the Academy is located on the land to the north of Terrose and Senokia, and we accept students from both countries. As a tradition to further strenghten our students, we also host quarterly matches in our arena, where all three arts are put to the test against one another. Then, each spring, a group of our most elite students and teachers travels to the actual battlefield in an attempt to end the war once and for all. Classes begin on September 1st, so please gather in the courtyard for orientation at precisely 9 AM. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

~~This is a semi-literate RP. In other words, I am not asking you to type out multiple paragraphs per post, but I ask that you have at least 5 good sentences for us to work with.

~~No Godmodding. I'm sure your character only wants to be controlled by you, and the same goes for the other RPers and their OCs.

~~xMalonex is God, so whatever she says goes.

~~Message all character profiles to her, and title them "Remember the Oath" to show that you have read the rules.

~~Be sure to follow Gaia's ToS.

~~Violence is encouraged, given the storyline, but if you feel the necessity to kill another character off, please get my or Xharliec's, as well as that of the character's owner, permission.

~~No cybering. Please keep everything PG-13, which means a time skip will be necessary if the clothes start coming off.

~~Because students come from both Terrose and Senokia, some are bound to be hostile towards others. Therefore, it is okay if your character acts in such away towards characters from the opposite country. All fights/disputes are settled through a one-on-one match in the arena.

~~I would like to see all posts somewhat decorated, meaning I ask that you include the picture of your character (anime only, please) and that you make your text colorful, to say the least.

~~Please post at least once every three days. I know we all have busy schedules, but I don't want to see this RP die out.

The Academy includes the following:

Classrooms. These are where students go to learn, well, anything not involving thier fighting skills.

The Arena. All matches are held here, both quarterly and those used to settle disputes between students. The Arena is lined with bleachers for the rest of the student body to spectate, and in order to win, one must disable the other player from fighting further.

The Infirmary. Injured and sick students are tended to here. Bandages, casts, medicines, equipment, and even potions used to speed up the healing process can be found here. There is also a small area where one may lie down and recover.

The Courtyard. This is a small outdoor area complete with chairs and tables, trees and shrubs, flowers, and a fountain. It is where many students prefer to relax, study, and eat. It is also where all announcements are proclaimed.

The Diningroom. Students and faculty eat their meals here, a room full of long tables accompanied by benches and chandeliers.

The Dorms. In this building, students and teachers find rest. Boys and girls are on separate floors, and so are teachers. Each student dorm room can house up to two individuals and is complete with two beds, a shower and bathroom, a closet, a desk, and two lamps. Teacher dorms are one-person only.

The "Battlefield". Here, students are trained as knights, mages, or dragonlords, as they are taught to strengthen their powers and skills. It is also where practice battles occur, which incorporate all three martial arts into combat.

The Mill. This is where all armor is made, and where those who wish to become blacksmiths are taught.

The Stables. All horses are kept here until ready to be used for training sessions for the knights or for battle.

The Cave. KHA owns three dragons, and they dwell here. Those practicing the art of dragonology occasionally travel here to harness their skills and ride or train the dragons to fight. Trips here are taken with extreme care and are ALWAYS supervised!

Knighthood Training:
Those students who wish to become knights are taught the code of chivalry, defensive and offensive skills, the art of horseback riding, and the proper use of armor and weapons (everything is provided).

Mage Training:
Students who wish to fight as mages are taught spells, many of which harness the power of natural elements such as water and fire, and are trained to cast these spells with the use of various types of wands (also provided).

Dragonlord Training:
Those who wish to have a dragon assist them in battle take this class, and they are taught how to tame a dragon, as well as how to ride one and how to control its fiery breath to their benefit.

Blacksmithing:
For those who wish to make armor, weapons, and other metalware. This class takes place in the Mill, and all items made are put to use at the Academy.

History of the Countries:
The histories of Terrose and Senokia are taught to all students, and the curriculum is presented in an unbiased but informative way.

History of the Arts:
Magic, chivalry, and dragonology are studied on an academic basis, so students will be empowered with more knowledge of their skills in order to help them on the battlefield.

Battle Practice and Strategy:
All students put what they have learned to the test as they face off one another in a war simulator. They fight against one another and assist those on their "teams." This helps them prepare for both the quarterly matches in the Arena; it also gives them a chance to embark on the annual journey to the real battlefield.

Celora strolled through the Academy's campus, looking around her at everything she had worked so hard to put together. Today her academy was opening and classes were starting, and she hoped that everything went smoothly. Pulling her cape around her, she found herself standing in the courtyard. At least the weather seems nice, she noted. Celora found a good, stable rock to stand on so that she could be seen and heard by everyone who came. She began to piece together in her mind what she wanted to say to the new students, hoping that they would understand why they were here and what was expected from them. In her mind, Celora imagined what the Academy might be like within the next few weeks. She pictured brave warriors wielding their swords, tactful mages listening to her instruction and becoming powerful spell casters, and dragonlords riding through the air as their dragons breathed fire onto the field below them. Breaking away from this fantasy of a thriving school, she realized that she was the only one here, so she silently awaited everyone's arrival; after all, they still had ten minutes to get here.

A young girl with shoulder-length brown hair rushed to the courtyard. She knew she had awhile to arrive, but she would hate to be late! Stumbling over her own feet, she huffed and puffed through the school until she reached the green yard.
Is this really how a mage should behave? she thought to herself. She slowed down, and straightened her back, walking with better posture. She gazed around the courtyard, marveling at its serene, natural beauty. She thought of the new people she might meet, maybe a friendly dragonlord, or a brave, handsome knight. With all this thinking, she didn't bother to watch where she was wallking, and she tripped over a stone--falling right at the feet of Headmistress Celora.

Celora smiled as a young girl entered the yard. She seemed to be enjoying the courtyard's scenery, which made the headmistress glad since she had designed the area to be a peaceful one. When the girl came nearer, she tripped over something and fell to the ground. Celora briskly walked over to the new student and bent down, offering to help her up. "Are you alright?" Celora asked, lifting her to her feet. "What's your name?" She hoped that she hadn't asked this question too soon, but at the same time she would eventually need to know the name of everyone at the Academy.
