Emilie sighed. The violin did nothing to calm her frayed nerves. She would have to find a piano in this forsaken school, and so she set out, her mind still in her search for a music room, any music room, really. She wandered purposely, her lips slightly parted so she could breath easier. Time passed and her mind began to wander.... always back to that boy... those green eyes... the way his mind was focused on her just once... and then snapped back violently with a hiss.
Enough! she would say, pressing her lips together and quickening her pace.
Then she came upon two ornately carved doors, one cracked open just a smidge. Curiosity overcoming her, she peered inside, only to find an auditorium, not like the ones in normal schools, no, but more like found in an opera house. There was a single light lit and in the light shone a beautiful black grand piano, propped open. Her heart flipped and she hurried inside and to the stage which she climbed quickly. At the top she stroked the heart of the piano then sat on the plush piano bench. She tried pressing the pedals with a dainty food and they moved smoothly.
A real smile broke across her lips and she opened the fallboard, revealing glistening onyx and ivory keys. She brushed her fingers along each key, producing a deeply enchanting sound. Something inside her knew she wasn't supposed to be there, but she couldn't help herself. Pressing her fingers to five bass notes, she started up, again, in her music. Of course, with classes not starting any time soon, what else had she to do?
