Call me a liar, a king or a fool
But sing me a song of prosperity
Higher and higher the further we fall
Hard to remember
I will surrender and I'll always wait
Wait as in all of eternity
Hard to remember, and hard to forget
The shadow that hangs over me

There were so many events that happened in a very short amount of time. Cienna, who had graciously stepped in between the Slytherin Royal Couple and the Dark Trio, suddenly fell to the ground in a series of convulsions. Sapphire orbs widened in complete horror as the Gryffindor Head Girl collapsed to the ground after a small touch from Aurora; what on earth was happening here? Half stooping as if he was going to check on her, Rion’s hand hovered over Cienna for the briefest of seconds before Adam barged in to take control of the whole situation. Little did Rion know that he just dodged the proverbial bullet, for the images that would have assaulted her mind could have possibly caused her bodily harm. Probably best that his skin didn’t make contact with the Head Girl’s.
Standing up properly to stand on guard beside Aurora, Asterion glared over at Grayle as she made a very derogatory statement towards his girlfriend. How dare this infernal creature of the abyss insult Aurora like that, even if she was her cousin she had no right what so ever. Narrowing his eyes even further at the Shanten girl, he tried to think about a rebuttal to her poisonous words when Aurora cut in for him in a very shocking way. The young Eckles was challenging her deranged cousin to a duel, and knowing Rora it wasn’t going to be a duel of magic at all. If this was going to be an even match for them, not that Aurora couldn’t handle herself with magic; it was going to be with some sort of melee weapon of sorts. Grayle was in for a very rude awakening, indeed. And with a twisted sort of satisfaction, Asterion followed his princess as she led the way towards the dungeons to change into more suitable clothing for the occasion.
When the group entered the dungeons, Asterion and Aurora were the only two to actually enter into the Slytherin common for they were the only ones who needed to change out of their finery. Before the two parted to head to their separate rooms, Rion made sure to persists upon Aurora that she was to take the utmost care in this duel. The Slytherin Champion would be completely heart broken if something happened to his princess. Parting on the promise she would be careful, the young Lestrange retired to his chambers to change into a more comfortable outfit for watching a duel. Picking out just a pair of worn black jeans and a white tank top, and black boots; this was a spectator sport after all. Why not be comfortable? By the time Rion had managed to get dressed without irritating his already wounded shoulder and walk back towards Aurora’s room, she was exiting with two very dangerous looking swords and another change of clothes. It seemed though Grayle was a very ungrateful sort of witch, Aurora wanted the playing field to be as even as possible. How very Pureblood of her.
Aurora, after distributing the clothing and handing out the designated sword to Grayle, lead the group back out of the Dungeons. They then left the castle all together, as they headed down the front steps and headed towards the Forbidden Forrest. Though they did not actually reach the Forrest, but they could hear the eerie moans of the creatures there within, as if they felt the children not too far away. It was a rather alarming feeling for those who weren’t used to such a close proximity to such creatures of the night, but it didn’t seem to bother either of the Slytherins in the least bit. Asterion couldn’t help but feel slightly light hearted in the fact that two girls were about to fight with quite literally dangerous weapons; it was a boyish joy that grew within him for a split second before shattering apart as the battle begun.
The duel itself didn’t last very long, though to those witnessing it the battle seemed to last for a good half hour, it was very intense. Grayle was eventually defeated, after landing quite a few blows both with her limbs and with her acidic words; she was forced to accept defeat to Aurora, whom she thought to be extremely meek and weak. It was an extremely exciting for Rion to be present to show support for his girlfriend when she defeated her dastard cousin, and sent her running. Quite literally, in fact Katerina and Mordred were hot on her trail in their retreat from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This was a marvelous day indeed. A completely cheerful and proud smile spread across his handsome face as Aurora leaned up and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek. At this point in time, it felt as if Aurora was the Knight in Shining Armor, and Rion was the Prince waiting to be saved. And odd turn of events indeed.
But then it seemed like something horrible had happened up at the castle the last minute, for a large flash of green light that blazed across the sky for a split second. This was a sight that Rion was very familiar with, unfortunately, because Rabastan was a demented, cynical person who was determined to twist his son to be just as dark and sinister as himself. It was a chilling thing to see such a green phantom light in a protected area such as this magical scholastic zone. Alarm flooded his mind at this chilling event came to pass, but nothing could have prepared him for the heart attack that accompanied Aurora’s flight back towards the castle in curiosity of the light. Who would willingly run towards a Killing Curse?! Cursing under his breath, Rion high tailed it right after his girlfriend back towards the castle; Aurora was quite a bit faster than her up hill, for she was smaller and more nimble, being a Seeker and all.
By the time Asterion made it to the top of the hill, Aurora was already headed back to him looking very grim. Looking slightly cross down at her, he huffed a slight sigh of relief. “What in the name of Merlin were you thinking?! That was a killing curse, you don’t just go running towards the magical green light like a moth to a flame.” His sapphire eyes were sparkling with so many emotions that they almost looked like a moving agent in themselves; but a second later his eyes shifted past her to the cobblestone courtyard behind her, and the horrific sights held there within. The Slytherin Champion was at a complete loss of words as to what to say after that; Charlie Kincaid, the Head of Slytherin House, was now lying dead in the main courtyard in a pool of his own blood. And if that weren’t chilling enough, there was a lovely little message written in his own blood about how one of the Champions would be killed if the tournament continued. A complete blank look came across Asterion’s face at this new bit of information the fit into the huge complex puzzle of life. Staying completely silent for the longest moment, even after Aurora had walked up to him to persuade him to return to the Great Hall. Nodding his head solemnly as he allowed himself to be lead back into the castle.
When back in the Great Hall, Asterion’s senses finally came back to him with particular clarity; the screams, the students rushing here and there wily nily. Everything was in complete disarray, especially when it came to Slytherin House, where the bloody hell were all the Prefects and Heads? Did they just vanish off the face of the Earth all of a sudden? Mentally bashing his head against the nearest pillar supporting the ceiling, Rion turned towards Aurora with a determined air about him. “Aurora, I need to make sure the rest of the Slytherins get back to the Dungeons safely. Will you stay with me? I don’t want you out of my sight seeing all the events that have gone on.” His voice was an odd combination of firm and worry. This was a strange situation that Asterion had never dreamed in his craziest nightmare; teachers falling from the room, teachers running rampant, a maniac on the loose. What a wonderful school year this was turning out to be. Clearing his throat, Asterion guided Aurora and himself to the Entrance Hall by the entrance to the Dungeons. “All Slytherins are to return to the Dungeons immediately! Move with a sense of purpose, people. No dawdling.” At this point in time, Asterion Lestrange was the only type of authority figure that Slytherin House had at this point in time, being Quidditch Captain gave him the privileges of a prefect. His voice held the authority that it needed, but it wasn’t anywhere near threatening or scary.
