Dietra's eyesight was almost back to normal. There was just a soft haze on the edge of everything now. When she heard Ambrose say that he was just a teacher here and would inform the headmaster so that he could decide what to do, Dietra's eyes widened. He was a teacher?! And she had just spoken to him in that way...
Dietra groaned softly. It probably didn't matter how she spoke to him now, anyway, but she should still try to keep some semblance of her student guise in tact. Gods, she really hated the teachers here. She had already apparently pissed off two tonight.
She still wasn't going to say anything, not in public. So, she kept her lips shut and did not respond to Ambrose's statement.
She started to follow Ambrose as he began to walk out of the gym. She felt someone's gaze on her and she turned her head in the direction she felt it coming from. There were 2 girls standing on the stage and one of them was looking intently at her. Great... even more attention. How was she going to be able to fix this all now? And she noticed that the girl pulled the other one back protectively... well, she assumed it was because she wanted to protect the other girl.
Dietra sighed and rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. She continued walking, but she noticed there was the sound of an individual following her. She turned her head around and was shocked to see that it was Ella who was following her. After what Dietra had just said, she was still following her?
Dietra couldn't help but wince when Ella said she still believed Dietra was her friend and that she hadn't lied about that and hadn't wanted to hurt people. Her stomach was twisted in knots of guilt. She should just make Ella leave. She didn't want her caught up in all of this. It was way too dangerous for her. Apparently she had hurt some people according to what Ella had said. Ella wasn't safe with her.
Selfishly, though, she wanted Ella to stay by her side. She was scared about what was coming up, even though she had been tortured in the past by the gods. On Earth it would be more painful and she knew these people weren't going to be doing it just to toughen her up.
Dietra wasn't sure what to do or say, so she remained silent and didn't respond to Ella's questions.
When the three of them and Discord were standing in front of a door, Dietra took a deep breath, stood up straight, and gritted her teeth. She could do this. This would be better than leaving and going back to Tartarus without completing her mission. She didn't think the gods would hold back on her this time.
When the door opened, it revealed a clinic and a nurse standing in it.... Seriously? Ambrose had been serious about taking her to a nurse? Dietra was dumbfounded, so she let the nurse lead her to a bed and laid down in the center of it. She was asking her if she felt tired, which she shook her head 'no' to.
"My... my throat hurts and I'm getting a migraine..."
She didn't know what to say. She was completely caught off guard right now. And then Ella came to sit next to her and even bounced on the bed slightly. She couldn't help but let a small smile appear on her face at Ella's presence and her protectiveness. She had said before that she was going to be her lawyer, right? She didn't know about that, but she sure wouldn't turn down Ella's company despite her knowing that it wasn't a good idea for Ella to be here with her now.
Discord jumped down and sat on the other side of the bed next to Dietra once she was certain that this lady dressed in white wasn't going to hurt her master. She felt better now. The fruit lady protect one side of her master and she would protect the other.
Ambrose's voice suddenly filled the air and Dietra turned stony again. He mentioned something about his suit.
"I'm sorry? I guess I must have done something to it. Before I pass out when you're torturing me, make sure to have me write a check to reimburse you."
She rolled her eyes, clearly being sarcastic. She definitely had the money to pay for Ambrose's suit, but he was probably just trying to lure her into a false sense of security with all of this and talking about something as simple and innocent as his suit.
"Look, as I said before, just get this over with. I'll answer the questions I can, you try to beat the rest out of me, I refuse, and then I pass out. Believe me, I'm used to this, so there's no reason to try and trick me here. I just want it to get it over with."
