Alexis had stopped at the front of the school and turned her head to a rather loud thud on the Earth. Not that it was any of her business to wonder, she was curious as to what made that horrible sound. Laying eyes on a fallen girl, she thought very little of the situation. Not wanting to draw attention to herself, she looked away. It was at that moment her eyes had caught a glimpse of a grey or black tail sit discontent on a bench. Maybe she could be kind and ask what she had been reading. You know, small talk. Shaking her head, she thought better of it. She hadn't wanted to disturb the feline as she read. Eyes peered back at the strangers in the grass. It was an odd way to make friends, but she supposed it worked. Turning her back to them, Alexis entered the school; her fingers entangled in themselves as a nervous shadow grew over her.

----------------"Jak . . . " she repeated, a somewhat small smile being let go from her lips as she analyzed the strange name. Hollie had met very little Jak's or Jacks. Hey, she barely met people in general. She brushed off what he had said, her thoughts absorbed in the origin of this strange name, mumbling, "Jackfruit, an immense East Indian fruit resembling breadfruit; it contains an edible pulp and nutritious seeds that are commonly roasted . . .or Ják, a village in Vas county, Hungary. . . or Jak as a boy's name is a boy's name is a variant of Jack . . ." It was three to choose from and in thought, she crossed her arms and sat down a few feet next to him, brushing off the many materials that were still scattered on the ground from her fall. Did she care of them? No. She found this 'Jak' interesting as Hollie examined his facial features and evaluated her conclusions of him from the way he spoke . . Maybe he originated from Hungary? Was He European? "Helló Jak, a neve furcsa, csakúgy, mint a vörös szem, nem jöttél, hogy ebben az iskolában?" she asked in Hungarian, hoping that using his name, the first guess at his origin was right. What she really asked him was Hello Jak, your name is strange, just like your red eyes, do you come to this school? Hollie knew a lot of languages, and it all made her strange. She waited for his answer as she leaned toward him under the shady tree, almost not paying any attention when some of her hair shifted from her face and only a glimpse of he crimson eye appeared before her hair came back into its place.

At this point in time, Jak was well convinced that the girl in front of him was a total freak. With wide eyes Jak watched her sit down. Great she's making herself comfortable. he thought to himself, a unacknowledged growl pushed out from between him lips. He was not okay with her invading her personal life, nor was he okay with her getting comfortable. Jak brought in his feet to a criss crossed position, this presented more space between them than originally. Course, Jak didn't want her pulling at his first or giving them an almanac definition. Shoes. Material around your feet. That was all he needed to know. Not what the material was, where said material came from, etc. They were shoes. Jak scanned over the facial expressions of the girl. She seemed completely serious about the way she was presenting herself. It was strange, and the more she spoke the more uncomfortable the boy became. It wasn't until she was speaking another language that Jak grew angry and confused further. "I'm not a ******** translator, now bug off!" he demanded, picking himself to his feet. He was well ready to take off in another direction when he caught a glimpse of something red. Now that her guard was down, he could see she was hiding her eye. He couldn't understand why, the crimson eye seemed perfectly normal to him; course, he was born with two deep red orbs of blood. He growled again, curiosity struck him when he realized she was asking a question. Of what he had no knowledge of, but it was still curious. "What the hell did you say to me?" he questioned, his voice boiling with anger.

Perhaps it was wrong of him to constantly mess with his brother. Over the years their relationship had become a lot better, definitely from when they were younger. They’d both mellowed out somewhat but one thing that hadn’t been outgrown was Taiga’s ability to irritate him, and the boy’s obsession with shaved ice. This time, was particularly bad. Well aware of Nevada’s disgust of drunken women, Taiga played a small prank. When his brother refused to double date with him, he responded by getting the girl extremely drunk and convincing her to try sleeping with him. It was fair enough to say that it nearly ended their relationship. His eyes nonchalantly shifted to his right hand, shivering as he thought of the fight that erupted in the woods that evening. Hoping that a day would be enough for the two to cooldown, there was only one thing that was needed.

Taiga spent most of the day simply walking around, trying to think of something that’d be an apology. Of course a cup of shaved ice was a last resort but the time was actually spent reminiscing of their childhood together. He couldn’t say that he hated Nevada, but he couldn’t say that he loved him either. He found the boy’s personality to be insufferable and ever since he became more social, he’d only become more of a d**k than anything. However, Taiga still found himself smiling warmly, letting out a sigh as he came to a sudden stop. “I guess I’ve grown quite fond of Snow White.” he let out a small laugh before leaning against a nearby building, eyes fixated on the sky. He became lost in his own thoughts for a brief moment, blinking twice once he regained his train of thought. He crossed his arms as he stood there, knowing that there was really nothing he could say that’d make it up to the boy. “Oh well, guess I can try using my lingual skills to ease out of the situation." He simply shrugged his shoulders as he walked off, headed back towards the school. “I should pick up a treat for him...just in case.”

Twenty minutes put him in front of the building, Taiga immediately spotting a slim figure on the roof. He watched as the boy stared blankly at the sky, shaking his head before looking at the cup in his hands. “You better appreciate this kid...”

Fiery wings were expelled from the young man’s back, Taiga ascending immediately. He flew over to his younger brother, hovering above him as he addressed the boy. He wore a cocky smirk as he spoke, hoping to get some form of reaction out of him. “Yuuuuki-chan~!”

Nevada rested on the roof, drawing the landscape thoughtfully, a content expression gracing his features. It wasn't very often that he got to be alone and enjoy something as a number of other beings always plagued his existence with their presence. Sadly enough, things weren't as simple as simply killing them off like insects as they were deemed "above insects". Blinking, he continued working on his picture before an alarm went off in his head. An alarm developed over years of practice. As if on cue, a familiar shadow was laid across the roof. Throwing his sketch book to the side, he turned, his arm aimed towards the sky. The sun blinded him so he couldn't exactly see what type of bug it was approaching him. "A giant roach..." He stated blandly, as a voice reached his ears. "Yuuuu-" His brow twitched and the word was barely finished as a mass of ice spike bloomed from his sleeves, numbering at about 40. He'd skewer it before it infected him. Flicking his other arm, a jagged ice blade thrust from the sleeve stopping about a foot out. Yes, he'd kill it without a doubt, he promised himself with glare as ice crystals burst forth from his back forming a set of wings. After forming, they slowly grew more and more clear until they looked as a genuine pair of wings. The outer shell shattered and the wings flared as the male broke his arm from the flower of spikes slid his hand over his blade.

Wouldn't be much of speed specialized being if there wasn't any speed. Shifting his stance he aimed and thrust the blade forward, the action resulting in a small shock wave as the ice spear cut through the air, it's aim true to its target.

The boy’s amber orbs went wide in alarm, though an excited grin toyed with his lips. The sadistic grin was filled with anticipation, his eyes soon following suit as they slanted, matching the wicked smile Taiga wore. He flew backwards to give himself time to prepare, obviously having expected the hostile greeting. There was no way he’d escape unharmed so he’d had to bash his way through the attack. “Amodeus....” His wings instantly changed color, a disturbing shade of crimson, resembling a flame of the host’s own blood. Taiga, still smirking cocked his right arm back as a beautiful flame, matching the colors of his wings formed. With a low growl he threw the punch with all his might, the flame dispersing in a large explosion once it made contact with the first spike. The shockwave was enough to break away the spikes that threatened, the boy immediately beginning to talk. “Come on don’t tell me-” He was cut off as Nevada jumped up towards him, a deadly blade attempting to steal his life.

Taiga again moved backwards as far as possible, now glaring at his younger brother. “Satan!” A blue flame erupted around him, Taiga throwing his palm forward. The fire consumed the spear, burning it to nothingness. Taiga then flew backwards once more, letting out a sigh as he ran a hand through his hair. "You know, it's not very nice to go trying to kill your older brother. I dun think mumzy would be too happy with your attitude. it was just one girl. You should've gone on the date jerk..."

Having failed, Nevada retreated and let the obnoxious bug talk to itself. Swiftly turning, he snatched up his things, and turn again swiftly before hopping off the side of the building, the last thing he heard having to do with something about their mother. The wind played with his hair curiously as he neared the ground before his wings flared suddenly, slowing him to a hover before shattering and dropping him to the ground easily. Turning, he pressed his hand against the wall, ice crawling over it swiftly before pushing it. Rather than give way, the ice parted with a ripple allowing him to move through it. The end result placed him inside the building as the ice melted away swiftly. It wasn't like him to fight a pointless fight so he ran, put distance between the two in such way the other couldn't make up easily.

Brushing himself off, he looked around. If they weren't in the school, he would've had his gun and just shot the b*****d. For now, he'd leave his gun where it was until he had to deal with his employers' requests. Making his way into the hallway, remaining shards of ice retreated into his clothing. Either way, he desperately wished the roach would trip and break his neck or something. Looking down at the sketch, he noticed it was pretty much finished and signed it earnestly. Looking around, he wondered where everyone was. Yeah, he was pro apocalypse, but it didn't mean he'd get used to not having the insects around in a second. Yeah, you wouldn't notice if they all disappeared, but you'd notice the peace.

Glancing down the halls, he shrugged and looked for the office. He'd have to get his schedule, and request that he be separated from the roach while doing so.

----------------Hollie didn't budge when he shouted at her, but only found him more interesting. Such language that this person uses, it didn't disgust her, but it peaked her curiosity. This was the first person to ever tolerate Hollie for so long that it was surprising and she tilted her head once more as she diagrammed the words in her mind. I'm: talking about himself, not a: not something of some sort, *******: profanity, no needed explanation, translator: A person who translates from one language into another, Now: meaning in the present, now, Bug: Bug . . . an insect? off: To remove oneself, to power off. "Bug off"? Such strange language . . . such strange syntax. But it made clear to Hollie that he was not what she thought he was before, making her frustrated. Usually she was correct the first time. But ah well, its a process of trial and error. Hollie then watched as he stood up, her face almost sad that he decided to go now, her eye begging for him to stay. What was this feeling inside of her? A feeling of longing? . . .It surprised her how he then stopped and asked what she had meant when she asked him that question. What a strange boy. It made Hollie chuckle little by little until she was overcome with joyous laughter as she leaned her head to the tree. Now she was completely off guard and her hair shifted, showing her red eye just for another second, although she fixed it right after, reflexes. Maybe she would translate it to something else? No, she was not one who took pleasure in lies. "I meant to say," she started, fixing her bangs, "Hello Jak, your name is strange, just like your red eyes, do you come to this school?-------Do you feel offended? What kind of stirrings are deep within your heart?" Hollie again wanted ti know more and more, and she couldn't help herself as she looked up at him. Well, he would leave, she knew that for certain . . . no one really bothered to stay with Hollie. She herself agreed that no one should waste such time with another person. . .but . . what was she doing right now?

Daniel Pollard

Daniel woke up to a ringing of his alarm and wet pillow. Once again his hair leaked salt water. He groaned and cursed under his breath Talk about wetting the bed... I bet no one else wets the bed through their head. He moaned as he crawled out of his bed and walked to his dresser in his boxers and a T-shirt. He rummaged through the drawer and found a nice clean blue shirt and some grey loose fit skinny jeans. He slipped them onto his body while checking the clock. It was almost the middle of the day. He looked outside and saw the sun blazing. Sure why not. he grabbed his hightop shoes and his skateboard. He got a sucker out of a bowl that sat on his dresser and popped it into his mouth. It was his favorite flavor. Blueberry. He walked out of his dorm and looked around No one wants to see me wreck myself? Thats new He walked through the hallways with his skateboard in his arm. He started whistling so atleast someone could try and talk to him. He hadn't made a single friend since he got there and all he has done is skateboard down some insane stairs and impress some students he didnt know. They were even more amused when he fell.

He frowned as Nevada retreated from their little game, a bit disappointed that he had to be so boring this time. His eyes simply fell to the discarded bowl of shaved ice, a bit sad that such a fine treat had to go to waste. The boy was definitely insufferable, he couldn’t deny that. While there were signs of development, he still kept that eerie aura around him, radiating an aloof nature that made him hard to understand if you didn’t have previous experience with him. Even as his brother, Taiga still found him extremely unpredictable at times and it was only getting worse as he continued to establish his pitiful excuse of a personality. Reluctantly descending to the ground, Taiga let a sigh as he began to calm down, his cocky smirk retracting into a more content smile. he couldn’t say that he was upset, sadly he wasn’t sure if his brother was or not. However thoughts of the boy quickly began to fade as his mind shifted to more important matters, such as if there were any beautiful girls on the campus at the moment. He wanted to find someone special, a girl that’d be a challenge, yet not too irritating. With a determined smirk he nodded to himself before his wings dissipated, the boy moved to the front of the campus, taking a seat under a nearby tree as he waited for a person to walk by.

Saya lowered the slip of paper with the address on it and looked up at the large school. She blinked a bit in awe and slight fear. She had been sent here after she was discovered in her home forest. It was being torn down to build a mall and the girl could do nothing about it. Since no one knew who she was they had sent her here to a place where a girl like her could better fit in. she was not so sure about it, but she had no family or friends so there was no one to take her in. Basically she was being dumped here because she had powers and the government just did not want to have to deal with her. She did not have much say in the matter and as she stood there, she considered just hiding and not going in. She had not had much contact with other people, but she did want to meet others. She wanted to make friends, but she had never really talked to one, other then the men who dragged her out of her home and sent her here.

She sighed a bit, pulling lightly on her green hair, her large green eyes focused on the building that was to be her new home. A building. Not many trees and everything carefully controlled. This was nothing like home and the feeling of the hard, hot pavement under her feet was more than uncomfortable, it was alien. She wanted to feel the leaves under her feet, feel the grass and smell the flowers again. She wanted to go home. Taking in a deep breath she took the first step forward and slowly made her way onto campus.

He let out a small yawn as he scanned the area, seeing no one that was more unique than the next. They were all unimpressive, all women that he’d already dated. None of them created a spark, not the preps, the tomboys, the nerds. They were all a dime a dozen and he found it impossible to become genuinely interested in any of them. His smirk began to fade, replaced with an emotionless expression. A yawn was expelled from his lungs as he threw his arms into the air, letting himself become lost in the solitude. Small groans were released as he began to shift in his position. about to drift off to sleep. However, after opening his eyes for a brief moment he caught a magnificent sight. A green haired girl in a simple white dress, the stunning feature being the fact that she wasn’t wearing any shoes. He watched as she walked forward with a reserved posture, her feet rubbing against one another supporting the thought that she was extremely nervous. It wasn’t his concern though, the only thing he was focused on was introducing himself. Like a serpent, he made his way over to the young female silently. letting his slender finger rest on her shoulders. “There’s no reason to be afraid beautiful. Relax a bit, this place is extremely friendly. If there’s anything I can do to make you feel at ease, just let me know.”

While walking Saya felt something touch her shoulder, then heard a voice. a small 'eep' left her lips as she jumped away and spun, her green eyes widening as her long hair wrapped around her as she spun to meet the man who had talked. she had not heard him coming and his appearance had scared her a bit. she was already jumpy and that had not helped her. His words, though soothing, only made her feel more uncomfortable. A deep red blush steeled across her cheeks bones, making her green eyes and hair stand out more because of her pale skin and white dress. Her hands were up by her face as she looked at him, taking a moment to watch him and be sure that he was not going to hurt her before she lowered her hands.

"I'm... I'm not really used to being around people... Or in buildings... Are you sure it's safe?" she asked, casting an unsure glance towards the 'school'.

He smiled warmly when she spun around, letting out a small shriek, laughing shyly as he tried to make her feel more relaxed. His expression was extremely soft to lighten the mood, eyes closed cheerfully as he spoke. “My my, someone’s extremely jumpy. It’s actually really cute to see a girl scare so easily.” He extended a hand, taking hers in his. He pulled her in a bit closer, letting his other hand caress the dorsal side tenderly. “There’s nothing to be afraid of dear, really. Just take a deep breath, even those not being used to crowds all do become accustomed.” He kept a soft expression as he eyed her briefly, trying to figure out what he could do to make her feel more calm. From her appearance and words, it was obvious that she didn’t a normal upbringing, perhaps she lived in a forest. Her enchanting hair definitely supported the statement, not to mention the simple dress. His eyes shifted to her bare feet, noticing that they were still moving nervously, perhaps the girl carried a strong desire to stand on soil. Hoping it would make her feel comfortable, Taiga led the girl over to the tree he was resting under. He kept an eye on her whole frame. trying to see if her body would lose its tenseness, not wanting to say a wod until she gave a response.

Her blush darkened and spread down her cheeks and up around her eyes as the boy pulled her in close. She resisted a bit, but she calmed a bit when she felt the grass under her feet. As she stepped into it, the grass and even the tree they were under seemed more alive than they had before. A gentle smile came to her face and she stepped away from him and closed her eyes. It did not feel the same as the forest that had once been her home, but it was much more alive than all of the places she had been recently. She then stepped over to the trees and placed her head against it lightly. She forgot that the guy was there, just enjoying being able to feel something alive again.
