{M'kay, we'll see how our behemoth posts compare...*evil laugh*}
{Edit: Sorry about it looking so much like Christmas in my post..and sorry about the color fonts skipping out, dunno why it did that. :/}
Minutes after she'd been taken away from Ben's arms she'd been placed on a stretcher and rushed into the ambulance. All of Via's vitals were flat lines, but the EM C's that were working on her were convinced she wasn't dead.
"CLEAR" One of them shouted as they shocked her at the minimum voltage, her body shook. Nothing. They waited, breathing heavily and kept shocking her, hoping for anything.

A peaceful warmth was all that surrounded Via. As she rubbed her eyes it was like she was waking up from a long nap. She looked around only to see a green meadow, speckled with sunflowers. In the distance there were mountains that seemed to glimmer in the sunlight with their purple and blue tones. The sky was a brilliant blue, and there wasn't a cloud in sight the sun shone brightly here, wherever here was. Via sat up and smiled, although she didn't know where she was. She looked down, and all the blood and wounds were gone, everything was perfect, not even any of her childhood scars remain. She seemed to be wearing some sort of billowy white sun dress.

"CLEAR!!!" announced a worker as they shocked her on the next voltage level this time her body shaking more violently. Still nothing, "KEEP TRYING!!!" they shouted over the top of the other. The ambulance's sirens whirling as they pulled up to the school's medical wing. The stretcher was carefully but swiftly taken from the ambulance and into the medical wing where the Operating Room had been prepped.

Via stretched out of reflex, but soon found out she need not worry about it. She stood up and walked around a bit, the ground beneath her feet was as soft as could be. She followed the babbling brook that ran down the middle of the meadow until she came to a peaceful lake, where the reflection of the mountains could be seen clearly as if looking into a mirror. Via looked in the lake and saw a multitude of fish swimming around and jumping from the water as if happy to see her. This made her smile, this place, wherever it was...was heaven to her. She went to the edge of the lake and looked down at her reflection only to see the reflection of a gentle old man beside hers.

"Get to work on cleaning and closing that wound!! NURSE! Get the oxygen going!! STAT!!" Doctors ordered, people whirling around like busy bees trying to save the life of a student. This O.R. was like any other, save for the fact that the doctors could use abilities like healing, and telepathy.

---------------------------
The old man's eyes sparkled like the moon on a clear night. His face was written with wrinkles as if each one told a story of it's own. The wind blew his silver hair gently about. This elderly man was tall about 5'8" and dressed in flowing robes of emerald green, with gold trimmings. "Hello, Viale." He greeted, his voice full of authority and kindness. It was like hearing a beautiful song playing softly.
Via's ears perked up and her eyes brightened. "Hello." She greeted with a slight bow.
This old man chuckled softly as his eyes crinkled upwards. "Do you know who I am Viale?" He asked gently.
(10)
---------------------------
"ANYTHING?!" A doctor called out as they continued to shock her, the results the same as before. "NOTHING." Replied the team.
(2?)
---------------------------
"Are you God?" She asked meekly like a child.
"Oh, no child. God is much more than I. I am just a messenger from Heaven. You might call me an angel." He explained.
"Oh....So...I'm...dead? And this....this is Heaven?" Via asked, still a wee bit confused about the whole ordeal.
"Viale, this is not Heaven. " He started "This is merely the first place your soul leaped to after it left your body. This is what we call the place of thoughts. You see, this is where souls come when the body dies, but the soul is not yet ready to rest." He finished.
"So what you're saying is...i'm on stand-by?" She gathered.
"In a word, yes. But technically speaking, this is the place where God sends those souls that have come before their time. This simply put, is the time your soul spends waiting while on earth the doctors try to revive you. That time period is when God reviews your life to see if you have learned any lessons yet, and if you have He will allow you into heaven. And, if not you are sent back down to Earth and given the rest of your life to learn whatever lessons He sees fit. This is what some people refer to as 'near death experiences'." He elaborated.
"How long does this usually take? Not that I'm in a hurry or anything...I'm....just curious..." She said looking from the water to this jovial old man.
"Since you're only 18, it shouldn't take too long.."
(19)
---------------------------
"No!!! I refuse to give up on this one!!" The doctor screamed over everyone else in the room, making the room as quiet as the grave. (AN: no pun intended)
"But doctor, we've worked on her for as long as the law permits...Any more and there will be brain damage, and definite amnesia..." A nurse spoke up defiantly.
"Not ONCE has there ever been a student before this year to die. Did any of you have to look into the eyes of those parents and tell them that their child was murdered by a man-eating crocodile?!" The doctor spat hatefully, his child being amongst those that were accidentally killed by Ben.
"But doctor, according to this patient's history her parents are deceased...." The nurse said quietly.
"So you're saying is that regardless of that fact, this girl doesn't deserve a second chance?! Who are you to decide people's fates! Now get ready to defib one more time, or I swear I'll have you all stripped of your medical licenses and fired!" He threatened as he re-washed his hands, re-masked his face and above all re-gained his calm.
The nurse refused to take part in what she deemed "so cruel". The other technicians all buzzed to action, their hearts moved by what the doctor had said. They cautiously powered the defibrillator up to the maximum setting. None of them had ever seen a need to go so high, but then again this could be a medical break through....

Via and the kind old man chatted for a while but before long something started to happen.
"OW!" Screamed Via as she jumped straight up in the air. "What was THAT!?" She asked in a flustered tone. "I thought you weren't supposed to feel pain in Heaven....!!!"
"Ohohohoo, Viale, as I said before this isn't Heaven, this is far from it. From the looks of it, He is sending you back....I guess in Earth terms you could 'consider yourself lucky'. Oh...Oh no." The man's jovial expression turned to one of worry.
"Oh no what? What? What is it?!" Via said worrying also.
"It seems this whole time we've been talking the Earth surgeons have been working on you....which is roughly about 3 hours...." He said looking sad now.
"What does that mean?!" Via asked fretting that something might happen.
"It means you'll have severe brain damage...mostly severe amnesia. Chances are since you were clinically dead for 3 hours, you won't remember anything from before you were killed.." He explained.
"So...I'll still remember Seika, Ben, and Akihiko right?! Right?! I'll still know about my parents....and...my sister and everything and the carnival RIGHT!?" Via began to ramble, before she knew it she was crying.
"I'm afraid not...Viale. I'm so sorry..." He said gently as he placed his palm over her eyes, causing her to faint. He lay her down gently in the grass where she woke up and then said a silent prayer for her. "God, even though you are taking away her memories, please give to her the gift of strength....help her to unlock her true power..." He prayed as he vanished into the air.
The skies that were once blue, blackened and blocked out the sun. The purple mountain majesties shook and crumbled to the ground. The peaceful babbling brook evaporated into thin air, and the once green meadow turned from brown to black, instantly dying. Via began to glow a brilliant pure white as she jetted away from this island turned hell, and back to Earth. (The reason for this paradise turning to ash was that every soul that passes on creates its own ideal plain of existence for the time being. afterward it self destructs, more or less.)

---------------------------
Back in the O.R. the doctor had shocked Via for the final time, her body jumped uncontrollably. "Dammit....Dammit all...." He said as he gripped his hair in his hands and cursed quietly to himself.
One of the technicians looked up at the clock, not wanting to call the time of death. All of them had been so moved by the doctor's speech that they really believed they could do this. The technician cleared his throat and swallowed hard. "Time...Time of death: 3:39 am, Tuesday morning." He read off as another technician jotted it down.

---------------------------
[color=olive]As the room grew quiet everyone bowed their heads in a respectful manner. Not a sound was made, the room was so quiet they could literally hear a pin drop.
"....beep." The pulse monitor chirped.
Everyone's heads snapped upright. They all looked at each other as if in disbelief.
"...Beep..."
"Doctor! We've got something!!" the technicians yelled through the doors.
The doctor came back in and analyzed the pulse monitor.
"BEEP.....BEEP.....BEEP....BEEP"
"Quickly now! Get some oxygen!!" The doctor demanded.
This continued for a while, as Via's soul lined up with her body and sunk back down into it. Via's grayish skin begin to shine a brilliant white color that became blinding to look at. This only lasted about five minutes, which was time enough to get everything in order and get her moved to intensive care. She was still in a coma, and wasn't expected to come out of it but the head doctor thought otherwise stating "There's just something about this one...that's not like all the rest." Little did he know, how truly right he was.
Via's eyes remained closed and her body nearly motionless, save for the respirator that pumped her lungs for her automatically.
It was a curious thing, the doctors had noticed--before surgery they had noticed previous scars from years before, but after the surgery and the blinding light the scars and gigantic wound through Via's stomach had all vanished like it never happened. They chalked it up to her healing abilities kicking into over-drive.
For now, the rest was up to Via to wake up. All anyone could do now was hope and pray that she'd wake up before too much time had passed. The nurses left the room after administering some medication for patient nutrition. They closed the door behind them and turned off all the lights except the one at the head of Via's bed as to illuminate the patient should she wake up.(23)

(( Oh kay so the numbers in brackets are the sentences, please check my counting. From these numbers there are 19 paragraphs and one sentence. =] ))

“Ben Cage…” he answered, seeing now she had amnesia. “And I’m only part crocodile. We WERE friends… before you lost your memory.” He said nervously, hoping the subject of how she ended up at the hospital.
Ben was walking with his parents on a hiking trip in Madagascar. They had seen the lemurs, lions, and a few zebra. But Ben wanted to see the crocodiles most of all. He heard of one, Killer Croc as they called it. It was supposed to be the largest crocodile on Madagascar, and the third largest in the world. It was said to have eaten people, but no one dared to kill or catch it.
Ben slowly opened his eyes to find them covered in mud. He rubbed his eyes, and stared hatefully at his hands. Last night he had seen himself, but where was he? Ben looked around him, he wasn’t at that carnival, but he wasn’t in the swamp. He stood on shaky legs, trying to understand where he was. He had long accepted that his legs were better because of the absorption, but so were his freakish features.
