❝ You know you want to be a loser like me! ❞
Night really wasn’t surprised when Lucia said that she wanted a piggyback ride rather than him to carry her bridal style because she didn’t strike him as someone who would like that kind of thing. She seemed too... independent? That may be the wrong word, but it was the only one he could think of in the time when he waited for her to climb on his back. Once she did that he wrapped his arms around her legs to keep her from falling and stood up, walking a his normal pace, as if he wasn’t carrying someone around. being a boy and shifter had it’s perks at times. It didn’t take long for Lucia to say something about what was happening. Of course it wasn’t much, but it was something. So she had no idea what was happening and she didn’t want to get help? Maybe independent was the right word. Either that or stupid. If she didn’t know what was going on, at least no fully, wouldn’t she want to see if there was anyone who did? God knew he would. He liked being able to make sure he wasn’t dying. Then again, she had probably experienced something similar many times before so she probably had a good guess. That didn’t mean he didn’t think this choice to run off to the river was smart. He shifted his weight so that she could speed up a bit because her body was getting really hot. It was probably worse since his body heat was higher than a normal humans, but it wasn’t like he could help that. However, her comment made him cough out a bit of laughter.
“I’ll take that as a complement.” He paused to see if that would sink in. You know, the fact that she called him hot and all. After a second he shook his head and cleared his throat. “We are almost there, just hold on for like five more minutes. Then you can relax in the cold water. Now hold on missy.” A second later and he was jogging. It didn’t bother him one bit that he had an extra hundred pounds on his back. He simply continued moving, trying to make this as painless as possible. Ok, not painless, he was just trying to cut down on the walking time. She was obviously uncomfortable with his body heat and he was becoming uncomfortable with her’s, even if it was for different reasons.
Sure enough, five minutes later he reached a spot on the river that that a cave attached and he made his way into it. Part of the river flowed into it, giving him a perfectly place to set her down. It was cooler in the cave, so he hoped that would help. Although he felt like just tossing her into the water he sat her on the edge only a few feet away form the water. “There we go.” He mumbled to himself as he walked off to take off his shoes and put down the gallon of water he had grabbed for them to drink. However, he quickly picked it back up and held the water out to Lucia. “You said you were thirsty right? Here, maybe this will help with that.” He looked at the river, wondering if she thought he was weird for bringing water when they were sitting so close to a river. That’s when a thought popped into his head. “Uh, are you wearing a bathing suit under your clothes? I doubt you want to go skinny dipping or get your clothes soaked because then I would have to take m shirt off to be nice and I doubt you want to see me half naked again.” That’s exactly how it would go if her clothes got we too because he wouldn’t want her to catch something because she didn’t have a dry set of clothes, so he would give her his and that just wouldn’t end well. Damn him.
