"Hey, no need to apologize," she replied, a slight frown marring her features as she took in the girls state. For a moment she felt compelled to go get someone. Perhaps the girls boss or another employee? Either way Jasper wasn't looking very good.

Nyx was just about to stand to do so when...something happened to the other girl. It was caught just out of the corner of her eye since she had moved to stand, but she could have sworn she saw a strange glint of blue. Yet when she tilted her head all the way up, the only thing about the other was that her eyes were closed. "Are you sure you're ok? You really don't look well. I can-" But before she could actually offer anything jasper was suddenly up and off like a shot.

"Well, um, alright then," she muttered to nothing, blinking in surprise at the suddenly empty space at her table. Using her significant height advantage, Nyz twisted in her seat to see where the girl had gone and spotted her kneeling on the floor not too far away. Apparently fleeing with your eyes closed was not a good idea. Duly noted.

Protective, nurturing instincts warred with what she had learned to be social norms. It'd be a little weird for a customer to mozy on up to a worker to help them with anything. Eventually normality won out; she didn't know jasper well enough to feel protective of her, at least not in a way her gargoyle instincts would truly react to. However, when she turned back to her plate she felt decidedly less chipper about eating the food in front of her, all of which seemed to stick uncomfortably in her throat when she tried to swallow. Well, this was certainly turning out to be a swell first day.

After the mess she had made was dealt with, she continued on her side of the diner. Everything went smoothly with all other tables, which made her question, Why in the world does Eli want out near, her? She looked over at the tall raven haired beauty. The girl seemed to have given up on her breakfast. Jasper couldn't help but feel guilty, she was, after all, being incredibly weird and probably made her lose her appetite. Not to mention, Eli was on a frenzy and kept messing with her eyes. Sighing, Jasper shakes her head, rubbing the tension out of her brows. She had been avoiding the table for about five minutes now, and needed to man up. First things first, she checks on all the other tables in her area, everything so far is still good.

The closer she got, the stronger the pull. It really had her questioning what the girl was. Maybe... She shakes her head at the absurd idea of the girl being what she was. A monster. Her father had told her that she was different, that she always looked human. For this she was slightly grateful. If she were a man, she would turn into something so monstrous, she'd have to be locked up in a cage for each change. Her father changed more often than she did, being older, and he was the most hideous, most terrifying creature she had ever seen. She's been afraid of him ever since she first saw him... and heard him howl a deathly howl that made her ears bleed. School was her way out of locking him up every time, so she left, despite hating being around so many people. Jasper was a loner, reading books in locked rooms, walking the opposite way of her destination so she would never have to pass other people, never raising her hand in class. She was invisible, or at least she tried to be. This job wasn't helping, but she was broke and had to eat sometime.

Jasper stops in front of the table, takes a deep breath, and apologizes. "I know you told me there was no need to do this, but I really am sorry." she sighs, knowing what was coming next. She never lied, didn't cuss, never even told a kid Santa existed. She was pure, as Jasper. She's never even kissed a boy, or seen an R-rated movie. She was pathetic compared to most twenty-one year old's. Here goes nothin'. Her voice lowers, in fear of someone else hearing her. "Being near you, makes me feel..." she pauses, not really knowing how to explain herself. "Are you a Jekyll?" It just came out. She didn't finish her first sentence. She hated when stuff just blurted out her mouth, almost as if without permission. Poor girl's not gonna finish her breakfast because of me...

Ironically enough, the older woman was having similar feelings as Jasper in that she felt horribly guilty. Not that she had any real reason for it. It wasn't like she had done anything wrong. Still, the feeling persisted; it was like the younger girl was afriad of her or something which was yet another thing to tally onto the weird scale.

First her waitress was harboring malicious thoughts about something, which she was going to assume was towards herself if the way Jasper was acting was any indication, and then the other girl fled from her like she was diseased. Nyx sighed and poked around at her food, not really al lthat hungry anymore. On the plus side she had finished her tea, but the pancakes felt like a weight in her stomach and she'd only really been able to eat the bacon.

Eventually the gargoyle felt she had overstayed her welcome. Her pancakes were cold by this time and even though the other wasn't near she could still sense a negative energy in the diner though it was one that flickered in and out of existence. Nyx raised her hand to try and get another waiters attention since hers had yet to return so she could pay her bill when, low and behold, Jasper returned.

Chocolately brown eyes shifted over to the lithe brunette, a single finely shaped brow lifting at her apology. What was there to be sorry for? She hadn't done anything besides act a little weird and with how pale she looked Nyx just assumed she was sick. Though in all honesty the next set of words out of Jasper's mouth had the taller woman's eyes going wide and about ready to bolt. That sounded suspiciously like some kind of confession and Nyx was not ready to deal with that kind of crazyness this early in the morning.

Which was why, despite how odd it was, she was relieved at the blurted question. "A jekyll?" she parroted back, obviously unsure what that was. "I'm assuming thats what you are?

((This post was a whole lot of nothing, wow. Sorry about that @A@ ))

"Mmmh!~ Cherry Pepper Cola! Energize your day! Keeps me up through my busy days!~ Try it today!" a famous popstar rang with cheeriness! Risette, erm I mean Rise was this girls name. The pigtailed girl was all happy and was in a short orange flapper like dress. It had looked she was coming from the club in this modern style of dress, but in reality she was wrapping up an early morning commercial shooting. "Great job Kujikawa! I'm proud you were up for shooting this before school! You must be a nervous wreck!" Inoue praised the young high schooler. "Oh Inoue! You reminded me of it! Aha, just kidding, don't get so worked up!" Rise kidded with her manger that looked like he wa going to have a heart attack over her first sentance.

Once she got the clear to go put on her clothes and do a simpler eye make up for herself. Smiling with her completed look, she turned around and was slightly startled by her manager. "Before you go I have a surprise for you! You know that magazine that interviewed you and told you that you were a possible cover girl? Well you got the cover!" Inoue exclaimed before the idol got a chance to answer. Rise smiled and hugged her manager, then bid a farewell to her second father. Rise was escorted to her limousine, door opened and was ready to go. Before anything she couldn't stop staring at her cover photo. It was a good half hour drive, students were probably about to eat breakfast or just waking up.

The limousine stopped outside the schools, Rise thanked her driver then exited her vehicle. The teenage girl walked herself to the eating hall, much different than Yasogami High. The girl didn't have much a walk though. The girl saw a few people, but not much to bug her but plenty to socialize if she got over her enthusiasm. Sitting a bit away, not too far, but a good way away from anyone. She began to flip through her magazine, it hadn't been her first time in or on a magazine, but since she left Inaba, solved the murders and started back on her career, she felt reborn. "My senpais would be so proud of me!" She giggled and even cheerfully squealed to herself.

Miza didn't really sleep, so he didn't really 'wake up', either. He did, occasionally, rest, and sometimes he could fall into something that was akin to sleep. It wasn't exactly the same, because he wasn't exactly the same, but it was similar in that his 'brain waves' would go into the same state as humans. Even though he worked completely differently over all. Regardless, though, this fact allowed him to stay up all night, and it was the reason why he could have been found early morning, wandering the campus. He enjoyed the night, even though his vision at night was terrible-- vision, indeed, was a complicated thing for him, as he had been able to observe the world before taking physical form, but had to tinker around with the concept of biology and human anatomy to perfectly capture 'sight' and experience it in the same way normal people did. The sensations, the sounds.... and with what light and sight he did have, he saw a wonder of things. Besides, he had another method of observation, something unique to his species, the same kind of perception that allowed him to witness the world around him when he was in his original, inter-dimensional form.

And it was that extra sort of awareness that truly allowed him to enjoy the night. There was something particularly brisk and refreshing about the experience, heightened, perhaps, by the physical aspect of everything. Aside from that, there were occasionally some rather interesting people up at night to talk to, and so he sometimes had company, but this time, that wasn't the case. He'd spent it wandering around, sitting and staring, sometimes closing his eyes to simply 'sense' the things around him, observing what he could see, running his fingers over the grass... and simply thinking things through. It had been a while since he came to this universe, but not nearly as long since he had managed to master a physical form. Everything was... interesting in this experience, but he sometimes wondered if he'd go back. He still didn't really know how he even got here...

Which was why he casually investigated topics related to it, asked people who might know about it, and did his own research on the side when he could. He really wasn't too preoccupied with it, though, so he spent a lot more of his time satiating his curiosity about this world. After all, when he did eventually go back, he wouldn't be able to learn anything else about this little dimension he had stumbled upon.

Currently, he wasn't doing any of the above. He was laying on the grass, arms behind his head, white V-neck fold collared shirt failing to completely cover the pale yellow long-sleeve shirt he wore beneath it, with regular faded-knee jeans and tennis shoes soaking up the dew on the grass around him. This was how he usually dressed, and he didn't bother always changing his clothes, though he did keep clean and sanitary so that he never came off as unhygienic... just a little unkempt at times, with ruffled clothes and messy hair.

Though he appeared fairly well put together currently, laying about in the morning sun, contemplating going to the cafeteria, without really deciding on anything. It was possible he'd wait until lunch, or go somewhere else, but for now he lounged about, enjoying the growing warmth in the air and on his skin, a smile on his face with his eyes closed and his feet lackadaisically crossed at the ankle.

(( Just tossing 'Zara out there for now. Feel free to interact with him. If he stays alone, I'll try and find something more productive for him to do later =w= ))

Between you and I, and the being in the sky...

x x x x xDarrell took a deep breath, opening his eyes. He was in his exercise wear, a sport shirt and some basketball shorts. He sat up, laying in the grass as he had just finished his morning workout. He looked blankly ahead, feeling all of his muscles in his body loosened from the running and sub-exercises. He took a drink from his water bottle, wiping the sweat off his face with his towel, calming his breathing down. There weren't too many people out at the time, usually the high school kids who were there because their parents worked early in the morning and had to drop their kids off early as well. He got up, stretching a bit before beginning to walk through the park to clear his mind, pondering whether to go back to the dormitory or to the cafeteria for an early breakfast. He continued to walk through the park, not paying too much attention to his surroundings.

This kid was weird. Likable, but strange. Justan knew he had no room to talk, and because of that he made no comment. Instead, Justan simply nodded an agreement at the enigmatic statement. Whatever "time" actually was, Justan hardly owned any of it. He kept to the orders and schedules that everyone else seemed to enjoy being bound to. Strip away someones duties and schedules, and they always seem to lose their minds! Ah, whatever! Justan had a friend today, and whatever Snow's motives for being so humble and kind, Justan wouldn't contest them. The fiery boy drew small flames, wondering what the big deal was about his fires. He was used to being asked, and understood that it wasn't common. But what he never got was the added comment that it was strange only because they were not normal looking fires. Justan was, of course, happy to explain.

"They call me a Flame Essence. I am fire. This form is just my choosing. I can change any aspect of it at any time, but I would need to revert to my natural state to do that." Justan quickly dipped into his pocket, pulling out a lighter and opening it. He flicked, granting a small orange flame typically used to indulge ones smoking habits. "I can settle on things I can burn, pretty much where ever a real fire can be. But when I am natural, I burn things like real fire does. So if I put myself on a candle or this lighter, I could reform myself into a different shape. All I can tell you is what I do and what people call me. Thats Justan, by the way." He reminded, hoping that this boy wasn't the sort to start calling him by some title. He knew people who called him "Fire boy" or "Fire" or other silly things. He had a name, and it was given to him for the purpose of being the way to address him. Now that Justan was finished talking about himself, he offered a wide grin, leaning back with a lazy stare. "Your turn. You human? That hair is stark white. I've seen the color on hair before, but it doesn't seem natural most of the time. And with a name like snow. You sound like an icy character, right? Can you mess with ice?" He asked. He would have guessed otherwise if he had been aware of the water incident. He only knew that Snow had somehow poured liquid on himself, to prevent doing something to Justan.

User Image"Very interesting," Snow said, a finger on his lip as he took in what Justan had told him. He thought that he had a fair understanding for what was just explained. Flame essence... To think that Snow had always associated fire with rage, no control, sometimes even evil, but Justan didn't appear to be any of those. It was true, you couldn't judge a book by its cover, no matter how vivid a cover might have been, like if it had dancing blue fires around it or something of the like.

"I'm what they call an Arctic Fox," he said, playing with his pointed ears that almost blended with his scruffy hair. Technically, I mess with water. He opened up his water bottle again and allowed a stream of it to flow out, forming a sphere that flowed in place above the table. Snow constantly moved his hand in circular, fluid motions, a subconscious reminder of how the water was flowing. Raising both hands, he brought them together and brought them apart. The sphere followed the motion as it began to stretch into a triangular pyramid, forming ice crystals within itself. The more it "stretched", the more crystals formed, until it was a perfect triangular pyramid made of clear ice. "They call it aquakinesis, but I can also manipulate water temperature. Water freezes, water boils." He made a sudden glare at the ice pyramid. A few seconds later, it began steaming, immediately turning from solid to gas under Snow's influence. "I mean, it's not quite as cool as being able to change my form, but I enjoy it nonetheless."

Jasper sighs and takes a quick peek around for her boss before taking a seat. "I hope you don't mind me sitting," she almost whispers. She really didn't know what was going on. Obviously this girl had no idea what a Jekyll was, therefore... none of them knew what was happening. "I'm sure you have heard of the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?" she continues to explain, "I think the man who wrote it, was what I am. What generations of my family are. What I thought you were because..." she pauses, looks around again, then continues, "For some reason, she, my monster, if you will, wants out when I'm near you." This was ridiculous. She felt like she was harassing the poor girl, giving her all this information this early in the morning. "I apologize, it is way too early for this.."

The pull in her stomach died down a little, making her more at ease. Maybe it wasn't the girl that caused the pull? Maybe Eli was just being a...n insufferable nuisance today. Who knew? Now she had let someone in on her problem, her secret. The college had information about it, and that was about it. Her job didn't even know, she just made it so she had off every four days. Now this stranger knew something almost no one else knew, and she didn't even know her name.

Miza was still relaxing in the morning atmosphere when he heard footsteps, and nearly translucent dark eyes opened to stare up at the sky. He saw a shadow to his right and turned his head, not worrying in the slightest about the presence of another, but instead feeling a flicker of curiosity as to who else was out and about. His answer was found as his gaze alighted on a dark skinned male strolling the field, and he watched with interest as the man took long, leisurely strides, apparently cooling down from some sort of work out, from the looks of him. Raza could faintly recognize him from around the college, and when the other approached, a faint look of friendly interest filtered into his eyes, and he lifted his head a bit and stretched one long, pale arm up in a light and casual wave.

"Good morning," he greeted, his accent showing through so that it sounded more like 'Gud manning'. He lowered his head back down, a very light, faint smile on his face. Though the friendly expression wasn't shinning brilliantly across his features, his eyes were alight with kindness and geniality. It seemed most of his expressiveness showed in his eyes, and the other changes in his facial features were incredibly subtle, so much so that if someone were to pay too close attention, they might lose the very slight differences between his looks. Currently, though, the openness was clear in his expression, even as he laid back down.

"Doing well?" The question was asked in casual passing, but it left ample room for the beginning of a conversation. He had turned his translucent gaze up to the sky again, but there appeared to still be a smile on his face, and there was a clear sense that he was listening in case the man decided to respond in a more elaborate way than the simple, one worded answers most people gave. Normally, Miza himself might be prone to striking up a conversation, but he didn't like to bother people when they were in the middle of something, and at the moment, he didn't have anything to ask the man... nothing pressing, at any rate. Miza could almost always come up with questions if he needed, to keep the conversation going.

Miza dropped his gaze back down when the man came over, replied, and even struck up a conversation. His smile grew, if only slightly, but his eyes lit up excitedly at the reciprocated friendliness, and he sat up to place his hands on the grass behind him, propping him up as he looked up at the other, head tilted to the side and face alight with friendliness. While he was glad the other seemed to be doing well, and was friendly enough, he was surprised to find that the other actually knew him. Unfortunately, Miza couldn't return the knowledge-- if he hadn't actually talked to someone, introduced himself, gotten their name, or really had any honest contact, he didn't really remember much about them. He wasn't sure how he would have learned about this man, anyway, but maybe they'd briefly chatted, or shared a class? Or maybe he just heard about him somehow...

Either way, it was sort of exciting, in a way, at least for Miza. "What degree are yah guhing for?" he asked, his accent slipping in a few more times. What he was asking was still fairly distinguishable, though. Unsure whether to stand or offer a seat, Miza stayed where he was, but tilted his head further when the other mentioned dorms. A sparkle of well-meant humor and mischief entered his expression, and he chuckled a bit in response. "Well, this is my second year here, suh I'm assuming I'll be in the same durm as before... If not, it will certainly be a surprise for wh'ever does get that rum," he replied, shifting to stand up and brush himself off. "I've left all my things in there," he added in explanation, that playful light still dancing behind his eyes.

"If yah dun't mind me asking, how did yah knuh which class I'm in? If yer not in it as well?" he asked, honestly curious, and not the least bit skeptical or uncertain. Even if someone were to do something like stalk him, he wouldn't mind, and he didn't think that was the case or anything here. He didn't have the personality to think something like that, anyway, and there was always the chance that it had been mentioned in a previous conversation. "I'm Mizaradazi Asgadden, by the way," he added with a jovial smile, stepping back and giving a curteous bow, one arm over his abdomen as he'd some people-- playful or not-- do before. He lifted his head and straightened back up, his arm falling away to his side again. "Yah can address me ha'ever yeh like." After all, he was curious what kind of nicknames people could come up with for him, for some reason.

"Oh, ah, of course not," was the quick reply, though the stammering clearly portrayed her confusion. None of this was making sense and while she wasn't exactly up to speed on human culture, Nyx was fairly sure that what was occuring went against some sort of cultural norm. When you were working you were supposed to, you know, stay working right? Not that she was really sure. She'd never had a job before coming to school and working at the local nature center was a fairly unusual job so she didn't know how this worked. Humans were weird. As if she didn't have a hard enough time adjusting to cultural norms without them changing all the time...

Or, well, apparently non-humans as well. Thin black brows pulled down in confusion at the explaination. "I thought that was just a story?" Apparently not if what Jasper was saying was true though and Nyx had no reason not to believe her. After all, humans had thought she and her kind and all the other so called fairytales had been mere myths. Certainly there were creatures or curses she hadn't heard of and going to this college it was expected to meet those not of the mundane. And it would explain the shifts in energy coming from the other girl.

If nothing else, Nyx was a fairly adaptable creature though. So after puzzling on this information she offered out a bronze hand with, "Jasper, I'm Nyx." Waiting for the other to grasp her hand, to feel it wasn't flesh and bone even through the illusion she added, "And I'm a gargoyle. Perhaps that's what your...ah, other half was reacting to?"

Miza politely tilted his head to the side, but he didn't say anything to Darrell's first comment. He didn't actually think it was creepy at all-- in fact, it was almost flattering! It meant he was interested in him, or someone had been, for him to have come up in conversation and actually be remembered. Besides, the explanation was sound, even if Mizara wasn't worried, and, for the life of him, had no idea who the kicker on the football team was. Though, at the male's next comment, a few people in his class did come up as possibilities. "Sanctions?" he repeated curiously, eyebrows slightly raised and interest shown in his expression, "VVhat did he duh tuh pruhvahke such repercussions?

He perked up a bit at Darrell's major, true intrigue glittering through his eyes. "Biamedical Engineering...? That saunds fascinating," he commented, the corners of his lips turning up in a faint, enthralled smile. He blinked at the introduction and, making sure his hands were clean, quickly reached a hand out to meet Darrell's in a light handshake. One of the first things he had done was familiarize himself with different greeting procedures, and he found this was one of the most common. Bowing was another frequent, as was nodding, tipping one's hat, kisses, waving.... other things, too, depending on the familiarity with the person. It had been a rather intriguing subject to look into.

"I'm afraid I haven't, but it's a pleasure tuh meet yeh, Darrell," he returned, having failed utterly to keep up with any sports. Despite all his interest in culture and science, he had never managed to keep up with sports. He tended to get lost in the mechanics of it, and failed to follow the game well enough. He could recite some of the rules for some of them, though, but he often mixed them up. In fact, he had more of a mangled, mixed version of the sports in his head, rather than any clear idea of how any individual one worked. "I take it yeh play futball?" he added, given the other's earlier comment about the kicker, "Ahr duh yeh just associate with futball players? I've never played any spuhrts myself... In fact, I dun't really know much about them. Futball is the one with the oval-ish ball, isn't it?" Which was one of the few things he remembered about it, since it was relatively distinct to that sport.
