User Image"Get up! Get up! This is your wakeup call! We run this town so you can fight us a-" blared the alarm clock of a phone before it was cut off by the smooth slide of a cold finger. So the alarm went to sleep once again, but coming awake was Snow Fairwind, well-rested for his first day of the school year. It was also his first year in a campus filled with college students, so he was looking forward to the new environment.

Snow walked into the bathroom, still dressed in his snowflake jammies with a change of clothes in his arm. After some shower noises, some nice whistling, and a thorough tooth-brushing later, Snow emerged from the bathroom in a white jacket over a black T-shirt and blue jeans, his hair in its usual scruffed-up style. He tossed his jammies onto his bed and snatched up his white backpack, prepared with the materials he would need for the day, which wasn't much considering it was only the first day. A few color-coded notebooks, a few pencils and pens, a water bottle, that sort of thing.

He was about to walk out of his dorm, when he stopped to look at the snow globe collection that was sitting on his shelf, specifically paying attention to the one with a jolly little Santa Clause giving a wave, magic bag of toys in tow. He picked it up and gave it a shake, watching the little white particles swirl around within the water. With a grin, he set it back down and walked out of the dorm headed for the cafeteria. There was still time to get some breakfast before class.

Justan snored, quite loudly, resting peacefully in the bed of his ghostly little dorm room. Things were being sorted out, so he might have a room with someone else. It hardly mattered. He had decorated his room with dark colors and had candles laying everywhere, some set up and some still packaged. The boy seemed to carry quite a collection, some scentless, and others exotic flavors that seemed to suffocate the room and pungent smells. His alarm clanged and rattled, the old little hammer smashing between two large bells, causing the clock to rattle with fury on the neighboring desk. The little button on top was abruptly smacked, silencing the noise so Justan could sit up without a headache. He grinned, a shark-like grin that seemed to welcome nothing. Dark as he may be, Justan was quite a light fellow, literally! Getting up and heading into the shower, Justan did not turn on the water. Instead he stood there undressed, letting his flames coat him and break down whatever filth would cling to his body. He could have simply rested for a second on a candle, but it seemed a waste of resource, and the ceramic tiles didn't seem to mind his fires, just like most other things. He threw on some tacky formal clothing, and stepped out into the halls, bag in hand. School day? Probably, but Justan failed to keep track of these things. The people in the halls would tell him what was up, for sure.

Might as well eat. The boy thought as he started for the cafeteria. Food was okay, and Justan could eat it like any other kid could. He actually enjoyed the taste of wax the most, weather burning it or chewing on a candle like any other human would chew a burger. Wood was another fine meal, and was the easiest to devour. Food went down alright, and had funny new tastes to them. It was especially good on days where asian food was available. Justan made a point to request cheap wooden chopsticks, as a snack. All sorts of shapes were wandering about, and Justan kept his libido in check when skirts passed by. It was far to easy to lift a skirt. Why wear something if it could expose you with a simple gust, or a straying hand? Justan would never point that out to anyone, because knowing his luck, skirts would stop and he would be all out of luck. His shark-like smile was intimidating, and others seemed to shy away from his grin, so he found a seat and waited for others to come to him. There were always those curious to know why little blue fires were constantly sprouting up on his flame, and then dying seconds later, to be replaced again in a different spot. The boy on fire. How could that not attract attention?

~And here's Nicki Minaj with Va Va Voo--

A small hand appears from underneath a bunched up yellow blanket. It grabs the alarm clock, pulling it out of the wall, and throws it across the room. The hand returns underneath the blanket and a loud sigh is heard. "No thank you..." says the petite female hidden under the best blanket known to man, and the universe. Two hands poke out this time, pulling the blanket down. A girl appears from it with matted hair, blind brown eyes, and breath that could kill Lu Bu in one blow. She sits up and grabs her aqua colored thick rimmed glasses off the night stand, and puts them on. After blinking a few times, the world becomes clear. The broken alarm clock on the floor becomes...clear. "Fish guts..." she grumbles, roughly rubbing her forehead with her left hand.

After staring at the only alarm clock she had for about three minutes, she finally gets up. She's not really a neat person, so her bed stays unkempt. Hopefully, her roommate, if she has one this semester, doesn't mind too much. In the bathroom, she grabs her toothbrush, drowns it with toothpaste, and puts it in her mouth. While brushing her teeth, she gets into the shower and cleans off. Five minutes later, she out and clumsily putting on her work uniform, while brushing out her shoulder length wavy brown hair. She has to wear a pink poof dress with a mint green apron, white stockings, and pink roller skates. It's the only thing in her closet that actually fits her, and she hates it. She would much rather wear navy and red polka dotted leggings with a knee length brown skirt, an XL white t-shirt, and her red hoodie. Which she will wear, after work.

Milly's Diner is on the corner of Harold Street and 6th avenue. The girl goes in through the back and clocks in. It's breakfast time, and most of the college students come here for coffee and waffles. After lacing her skates, she moves in on her first table. In the most appealing voice she could muster she says, "Hey there, and good mornin'. I'm Jasper Rose, and I'll be serving y'all today. Can I start y'all off with some'in to drink?" Was it mentioned that she was from Alabama?

User ImageSnow came out of the line with a tray of slightly overcooked pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a couple of ham slices, a balanced way to start the day... Or something like that... It may not have been the best stuff ever, but it was certainly edible and was enough to tide Snow over until lunch. He began walking over towards an empty table, taking out his water bottle and unscrewing the cap with only his thumb and index finger. A well-sized blob of water slithered out and hovered in the air for a moment in the form of a sphere. Snow made a weird habit of drinking his water by tossing little water spheres into his mouth using aquakinesis. After putting the bottle back into his backpack, he pushed the water ball back slightly for a bit of momentum, and then was bumped into by a hurrying student. With that bump, his concentration was blurred and the water sphere splashed in the direction of a student surrounded by blue flames. What if he was a fire elemental or something!? Wasn't water bad!? The logic seemed sound enough for the few micro-moments that the water was flying towards the fiery student. Snow pulled his hand back quickly, causing the water to abruptly shift direction towards himself. His eyes shut as his face ,clothes, and pancakes were assaulted with multiple water droplets. When he opened his eyes though, he didn't see any sizzling coming from the student, so it must've worked on one end. "Sorry," he said, rubbing the back of his head, embarrassed.

Justan was distracted, chewing and biting until his meal was half-gone. It was then, that an apology hit the back of his head. Justan, ignorant to the water that nearly made contact with his back. He looked back, pointing at his own face.
"Are you talking to me?" Justan asked, only peering around to see if anyone had been afflicted by something worth apologizing over. The boy seemed speckled with water, as if something had splashed him. Justan didn't feel wet, but somehow that apology seemed completely aimed at him. "No harm, no foul!" He exclaimed with a grin, turning back to his meal. He stuffed a few bites down before looking back at the boy again. "Hey. Is this the first day of school?" Justan asked through stuffed cheeks, fixing the other with a lazy stare, while reclining at the table, leaving his food temporarily unguarded. A few flames licked out of his mouth, making it more obvious that he was devouring his food by burning it away. It was then that he realized the lack of introduction. "Oh. I'm Justan by the way. We might end up studying together or taking classes... or something." He stated, not bothering to offer a hand, instead shoveling another bite into his shark-like maw.

User ImageSnow made a sigh of relief. It seemed like the other student didn't notice that he had almost been splashed. At the thought of splashing, Snow looked down at his pancakes, which came into contact with the water along with his face. He tore a piece to place in his mouth, his slips curving downwards. Soggy pancakes were nasty indeed... Oh well, the eggs and ham would have to do.

Only slightly weirded out by the other student's question, Snow answered honestly. "Yeah, today's the first day," he said. "Pleased to meet you Justan." Snow held out a hand for a shake, but Justan didn't seem like the hand shake type. It was probably a good idea. Snow didn't know whether or not he would get burned from a being with fire coming from his very breath, or so it seemed. "My name's Snow... Um, do you mind if I sit down?"

A pale grey, splotchy hand shot out from beneath black and grey sheets to fumble along the desk next to the hand's bed, snatching up the wretched device shrieking "Never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down. Never gonna turn around an-" A low growl reverberated from beneath the covers as a large beak-like muzzle poked itself out from beneath the covers, followed by curved horns, until the dark shape of Nyx's head was completely visible. The phone where the alarm had come from was placed back on the desk as the gargoyle stretched lazily like a cat before turning to finally slide out of the bed. With the heavy weight gone the deep depression in the matress bounced back into shape; it wouldn't be long before it was permanetly sagged from Nyx's mass.

Blood red eyes glowed faintly in the dark of the room, heavy curtains blocking the sun to keep it from disturbing her in her sleep. The only thing Nyx really needed to do in the morning was get dressed and put on her medallion; being made of stone made it so she didn't really have to worry about showering all that much. Unlike organic creatures she didn't accumulate body odor so unless she actually became dirty from actual mud or debris there was no need. Too much water exposure had actually caused mold to grow on her once and she wasn't exactly keen for it to happen again.

As such, she went to her closet and selected a pair of blue jeans and a large army green mens tee shirt, with bronze tentacles alternating along the bottom hem. For most women her outfit would be baggy and loose. As a gargoyle she stood over seven feet tall; regular jeans were like shorts to her and the shirt clung to her volumptuous frame. The back of her shirt was cut out for her wings to slip through and the collar was clipped so it would fit over her horns; similarly her jeans were cut in the back for her tail to slip through. When she put the medallion on, however, none of this would be visible. Her wings would be kept close to her body to keep them from bumping into anyone or anything and she was always conscious of where her tail was in relation to others so as not to ruin the illusion.

Once dressed she put on her medallion and shoved her phone into her pocket. Rather than go to one of the dining halls on campus, Nyx decided to head for a local diner she often visited during her previous years. It was only a few streets over from her dorm and she had the money to pay for the better tasting food than what the college served. When she entered she was seated immediately since it was early enough where there weren't a lot of customers.

She wasn't there long when she was approached by a rather cute brunette with teal blue glasses. Nyx had never seen her before so she must have been knew, but she still smiled pleasantly when the girl asked for her order. Gargoyle's might not have needed to breathe, or eat or sleep for that matter, to survive but they were all pleasant feelings so she happily replied with, "Nice to meet you. I'd like to start off with some tea. Light with milk and sugar on the side. If it's not too much trouble I've been here before so I'd just like to order a short stack of buttermilk pancakes and sausage."

Being an observant person, Jasper couldn't help but take in the details of her first customer. She absent mindedly wrote down the order on her notepad while eyeing the medallion around the woman's neck. The second her eyes met with it, she felt a strange pull in her stomach. Usually she felt this pull a day before her change, but today was not that day. It was painful, almost as if somethingsomeone was trying claw it's way out of her. Eli wanted out, and Jasper didn't know why. She didn't know much about Eli, never remembering what Eli had done while she was...gone. Sometimes she would have dreams about robbing jewlery stores, gambling, and fighting huge men..., but those could just be dreams. If they weren't, maybe the pull was because the medallion was something Eli would want to steal... I won't let that happen Eli, back off! she argued with her other half internally.

"Not too much trouble at all." she responds with a small smile. "I'll be right back with your tea." Jasper nods and then rolls off to the kitchen. Once inside, she repeats the order to the cooks while clipping up the paper she pulled out of her notepad. Before making the requested tea, she leans against a counter and grabs her stomach. "It's not your turn Eli... leave me be." she whispers, in pain. She puts a small stainless steal teapot on her tray, along with a small cup of milk, an empty tea cup and a bowl of cubed sugar. She takes a deep breath, like she always does before rolling around a diner with hot liquids, and rolls to her first table. The trip was successful, so she places all of what is on her tray on the table. She grabs the teapot and pours the tea into the empty cup, filling it about 3/4's of the way. "Pancakes should be out in five, anything else I can get for ya?"

Nyxs head tilted curiously for a moment as she observed her waitress. There was a strange sense of...otherness coming from the much shorter woman that she couldn't quite place. It wasn't magic. If it was, she would have sensed it the moment she saw the other. Same if Jasper had been possessed. Which only left the bitter sense of anothers malicious thoughts.

She waited until Jasper was gone before allowing herself to frown at the thought. She had only just met the woman and the other was already harboring ill-will towards her? Or perhaps it was just a negative attitude in general that she simply hid beneath a happy demeanor? Just because Nyx could sense these things she wasn't a telepath; there was no way to know Jasper's intentions. Ah, well...she'd just have to keep an eye out on the young girl and make sure there wasn't any spit in her food or drink or something.

When the other finally came back, Nyx had her bright smile back in place. "Thank you," she said as she picked up the milk, mixing it and two cubes of sugar into her tea before taking an appreciative sip. "Hmm, no thank you. I believe that's all I need," was offered when asked if she wanted anything else. In all actuality, if food didn't taste so good she wouldn't have bothered to eat it at all since it wasn't necessary, so she often ate in very small portions.

"I'll be right back then," she said with less enthusiasm. The pull was getting stronger and making her nervous. She rolled back into the kitchen, her left arm wrapped around her abdomen. She heard the ring of a bell and an 'ORDER UP!' from one of the cooks. She moved in to grab the short stack with a side of sausage, stopping just a few feet away. In the reflection of the large rounded mirror in the corner of the kitchen, to see what all goes on, she saw herself... with eyes almost matching her apron. Eli's eyes.

"W-w..." She touches her face, noting the blindness she feels wearing her glasses. She removes them and begins rubbing her eyes, forcefully. Desperately trying to remove them, almost wanting to claw them out. She had never seen Eli, not knowing at all what she looked like. Now, seeing something of her's, was seriously freaking her out. It's not time! She looked up again, just in time to see them morph back into brown, her blindness returning. She puts on her thick rimmed glasses and places the order on her tray. How long were they... changed..? she wondered, rolling back out into the diner, noting more customers on her side of the room.

Jasper rolls up to the abnormally tall, but beautiful, woman and places her order in front of her. "I'll be right back with some syrup," she leaves without giving the girl enough time to respond. She heads over to another table, taking their drink order and then leaving them to look at the menu. After dropping off a few cups of orange juice, she heads back to her first customer, placing the syrup on her table. "There ya're. How's everthang so far?" her accent was always thicker when she was nervous.

At least it was the first day. As expected. Things didn't always go as expected to Justan, whom often found he had lost track of time, failing to see the importance of human notions such as that. Very strange, considering he was raised as any human was, by parents with a family under a roof, with typical rules and guidelines. Because of that, Justan felt he should not be any different. Every conversation with others led to a debate. Humans saw time as an entirely different thing, regarding it as more of a law of physics, rather than a simple measurement of events in motion. Whatever the case, Justan found he rarely paid attention to clocks, risking lateness, or a lack of understanding of the day. It was common for him to attempt to go to class on holidays, or when class was not in session. His alarm kept him in line for actually meeting classes, and observing the students and bell warnings told him when to move to the next. As long as things were not entirely under his control, Justan had little problem with keeping to schedules. Off days were another matter, wrought with confusion and chaos. Justan made a plan not to make plans, ironically enough.

The boy offered his hand. Justan wasn't rude, so he took it and shook it. Humans loved to take and shake, Shake everything they held, it seemed. Justan was just a guilty, though he found it endearing that he did not handle things or feel as eager to touch things he did not know or understand. Curiosity was present in his young mind, but in a different way. Caution, Justan hoped. Being too supernatural was not a good thing. His grin was just as wide as ever, and by now, his plate was empty. His shining teeth were marred lightly by a few pieces of ash still smoldering between his gums. Another strange thing to observe. A wet mouth that glowed with small embers without burning the flesh. Science would absolutely love to have a go at Justan, and doctors were frightening enough as it was. The question was surprising. Justan looked at the empty seat, as if wondering how he came to own it.
"I think its safe to sit where you want, man! Have a seat, though its not really mine to give. I don't think the school will mind. I've already finished, but I can hang around. Good to meet new faces on the first day, right?" The chatty boy said, small flames licking to and fro, making Justans flapping lips seem like the maw of a ghostly fireplace.

The quite discomfort in the pit of her stomach was growing worse the longer the other woman stood near her. She didn't like it and even through the magic of her medallion her false brown eyes flashed into their natural red. There was definately something wrong with her waitress and it was making her defensive, aggressive.

Without Jasper actually attacking her though there wasn't much Nyx could do. So when Jasper darted off with a thin excuse about getting her syrup, Nyx let her. Whoever this girl was she was the strangest thing the gargoyle had ever met. Only when something bordering on evil was near would activate her 'sixth sense' and while she had met some truly evil creatures that could act all sweet and nice, Jasper just felt different. It was definately confusing and left her even more on edge.

To calm herself, Nyx sipped more of her tea, waiting for the other to return once more so she could begin to eat. "Everything's fine, but...are you alright? You don't look so good." When the other returned she was decidedly much paler than before and she looked almost...twitchy. Evil or not, Nyx wasn't obligated to attack her unless Jasper actually did something she could prove and with the strange mix of readings she was getting from the other there was no reason not to be curteous. "Perhaps you should sit for a moment."

User ImageAs his hand was grasped, Snow's eyes widened slightly, expecting to be seared or burned. When the two hands made contact though, Snow only felt a warm touch as he would with anyone else. A sigh of relief, and then a small chuckle escaped Snow's lips. Justan was certainly an upbeat one. "You're right, they probably won't," he said, pulling out a chair and taking a seat. It was Snow's first year in this particular school, so it was nice to know he was starting off fresh by meeting a new face, and such a pleasant one at that, different as Justan might have been.

Snow took a bite out of his ham, disregarding the soggy highlight of his breakfast. "Thank you for giving me your time," he said. Snow was a rather humble soul, thanking others for the smallest things and apologizing for things that didn't really need to be apologized for. "So, if you don't mind me asking, what are those flames that surround you? They certainly don't seem like any normal fire, and I can't say I've ever seen anything quite like them before."

The moment the girl had told her to take a seat, a strong pull forced her to oblige. This time, more painful than before, causing her to whimper. "I'm sorry... I'm alright." she sighs, closing her eyes. Eli must have really wanted out, but she refused to let it happen. Not here in her work place, not today when it wasn't her day. She opens her eyes, her glasses making it hard to see again. Oh no... she closes her eyes again, hoping to all things mighty that her eyes were still brown. This was only her fifth day working here and she really needed the money. Eli ruined a lot of things for her, and she really didn't want this job to be one of them. The poor girl sitting across from her was probably weirded out, and she had other tables to tend to.

With her eyes closed, she moves to stand up. If her eyes were those that were nothing but hatred and evil, she didn't want anyone else to witness them. Instead she'd go by ear. "I'll leave you to your breakfast, sorry about this..." she starts rolling off in the direction she believes to be the kitchen. Only opening her eyes when she hears some glass fall and one of the busboys yelling, 'HEY! WATCH IT!' She could see perfectly with her glasses now, she could see she broke a lot of glass cups. "Dangit... she whispers to herself, then gets on her knees to help her co-worker clean up the mess she had made. No matter how much she tried to stop it, Eli always found a way to ruin something.
