Ms. Brown looked at James.
"Care to tell me where she is?"
I must seem like this woman's shadow puppet or something.... he thought before closing his eyes to concentrate.
"She's on a date," he said half a second later. "With someone else who is really supposed to be here...."
Ms. Brown smiled, nodding.
"Thank you, James," she said. "Now then, Alexi, is there something else about the class you'd like to test?" She looked at Misery. "Sweetheart, your ego is showing. You'd do well to learn better mental barriers, too...I can still here your thoughts clear as a bell..."
James looked at his mother in horror. She wasn't really being so mean to someone who had had such a horrible life.
I'm sorry, he said to Misery, in her head. Alexi made her mad, I suppose...she's not always like this....
The woman in the office looked up at Cascada and smiled.
"Oh, of course dear," She said. "I'll just call Tagome up to take you to class...." She picked up the phone and pressed a few buttons. She waited for a moment, the said, "Hi, Tagome. Since your class doesn't start until later, would you mind bringing a new student to Ms. Brown? She's a little late, but Julie adores you, so it shouldn't be an issue....alright thanks!"
A moment later a woman in her early twenties apperared at the door.
"HI!" She said happily, extending her hand to Cascada. "I'm Tagome, the Kindergarden teacher! Why don't you come with me....what's your name, now?"
