Cael intended to talk with those around him, but the light flashing in his eyes was a bit more important. When something required their attention, they'd warn each other with some form and Sylvar's was reflecting light into Cael's eyes. He looked up before following his partner's gaze to see a girl and a dragon appear out of the shadows close to the walls. Being a thief, knowing who was around was an essential skill, one Cael thought he had until he saw her. Skylar let out a low growl, lowering his head so only Cael could hear. "I hear you Sylv. They're an interesting couple. Wanna meet em later?" He looked up and only received a snort as a reply. "Guess I'll meet them alone then." He said as he wiped off the small particles of ice off his face. He turned his attention back to the small group forming near the trouble dragon, though Sylvar kept looking at the two, with the occasional reflection towards the "shadow couple" and Cael, the latter having to raise his hand to stop the glare.

Lunastasia watched she kept shade near her at all times. Shade felt threatened by all the surrounding dragons he watched Lunastasia eyes and where they carried. Lunastasia seemed to watch everything and whispers filled her head they dead call yet she didn't respond. She sighed that was her calling and she hated it. She just wanted to be normal then Shade caught her attention "Luna my dark angle you have got attention of a few this odd for you" . Lunastasia looked around she new the shadows protected her but when she was to far away she felt vulnerable. She had been watching the other students for a while but she was hidden for a while till a few moments ago. Her mind rambled when the whispers rang her attintion.

Meelos knelt next to the boy, obviously trying to figure out what was wrong. He started to poke the boy with a nearby stick and a curious look on his face. "Hey, wake up. You're causing a scene." He said, tilting his head and completely ignoring the presence of the woman who had authority. If he wasn't in trouble he didn't care too much to acknowledge her.

From a distance Maiya and Faera watched with curious eyes. "Should I help them? After all, My healing abilities may work on the boy..." She said to Faera who only shook her head, protesting that Maiya even interact with them. The dark haired boy was from the fight before and Faera didn't want Maiya getting into any trouble. But the girl stared at the dragon with pleading eyes who groaned, finally giving in. Maiya nodded to Faera, thanking her and she slowly approached the group, not looking at anyone other than the unconscious boy. "What happened..?" She asked, the dragon more than anyone else in the group. Faera hung back a little, keeping a watchful on Maiya, ensure that the girl didn't get hurt by the other dragons.

However, when a girl who strongly resembled this boy arrived and questioned the circumstance, Gure paid more than enough attention to her. Hopefully, she could wake him. The problem was, it had little idea as to how it should explain. After a moment of thought, it figured the best thing to do was to roll Lark so that they could examine his head. Gure used its cranium and turned its "partner" over, revealing a dark blotch of crusty blood blanketing his pearly hair. Just then, it occurred to Gure that it might've struck him a bit too hard.

She looked back at the boy, placing her left hand just above the wound and put her right hand on top of her left. She didn't touch the boy and a soft glow began under her hand. Maiya had her eyes closed as she did so, to better focus on healing the wound than looking at it. Faera, looked from Maiya to the dragon and then away. She was seemingly uninterested. But Meelos on the other hand, stared at Maiya's face, as if he knew her. But she did not seem to recognize him before. But he still had a strong feeling that he knew her and decided to wait until she was finished.

When Maiya moved her hands, she stood up and looked at the dragon. "He should be fine... I know he doesn't look different but he needs to be cleaned up... I'm not sure what exactly happened but you guys should be more careful next time... That was a nasty mess to heal.." She said and sighed, walking back over to Faera. Meelos stood up and grabbed the girl by her hand who spun around. They stared at each other for a moment, in silence. "Mai....ya....." He whispered as familiarity and surprised washed over his face. Quickly, the young girl jerked away, stepping back as her dragon was now between the too, Moments from freezing the barefoot boy. Still he stared at Maiya and she looked the other way. It was clear that Faera suddenly didn't like this boy and wouldn't let anyone touch Maiya. It was parental instinct, almost.

Meelos stumbled back, not wanting to anger the serpent dragon anymore than he had while the girl softly ran her hand along her companion, whispering to it inaudibly until it calmed down.

Cael watched as the girl put her hands over the unconscious boy and a glow appeared. He opened and closed his hand, remembering the ability he learned from Syvlar that was similar. He stoped and motioned to Sylvar, who's attention was still at the two 'shadow people', to head away from the scene. He started walking towards the hallway entrance, which Sylvar was more than happy to follow, since they would pass those two Sylvar was so interested in. As they passed them, Cael turned his head to watch and identify them before they disappeared into the shadows like they did before. Sylvar slowed down as they passed, with a neutral puff, as if to say "Sup." As they entered the hall, Sylvar had to lower his head to move comfortably, with his wings folded to the side. They entered the office to apply, and within minutes Cael was sitting down filling out the paperwork.

((A bit of a wordy post, you can start from the third paragraph to get the important bit.))

At some point, the medics had arrived on the field to tend to everyone. Thankfully, no one seemed to be heavily wounded. As the ever busy duo made their rounds, they eventually came across the fallen Lark. With some explanation from nearby students and Master Brandt, plus the help from Maiya, there was little that needed to be done. The medics produced some smelling salts to try and rouse the young man. Regardless of how well they worked, he would have woken at some point, gotten himself oriented, and be able to carry on with his day.

The long day eventually came to a close, signaling rest for those that needed it, and drinks or study for those that were stubborn. All in all, it had been a relatively normal day at the academy. But what came the following day was something much more unusual...

At dawn of the following day, many were roused by the sound of heavy bells being rung. This somewhat uncommon event was saved for when staff and students needed to be gathered for something, usually a ceremony of some nature, but there had been no notice of anything taking place. Everyone knew to report to the Ceremony Hall, the largest area in the academy inside the Atheneum. There was a far bit of chatter and morning grumpiness, but the noise died down when the headmaster made his appearance. Headmaster Elm had a rather reserved appearance, and were it not common knowledge who he was, he would seem like just an old man in the crowd. He had a bushy, white beard that reached his chest, short and thin hair, deep brown eyes, and a midnight blue robe that covered his body. He nodded to his fellow masters before standing before a podium. Despite his age, his voice was loud and powerful, carrying across the room with ease.

"Masters and students, we have had a very serious incident occur in the previous night. The infirmary at the Training Grounds has been burned down, and one student, Jorin Mosorin, along with his dragon, Garun, have gone missing. The reason you have all been called here is because this was no accident. We have discovered traces of alchemy and magic having been utilized in order to conceal the destruction of the infirmary. There is no immediate reason to believe that any members of the academy have committed this crime, but that does not free anyone from being suspect. Should the culprit be a member of the institute and they present themselves, we will deal with this matter in the least severe manner possible. Should anyone be found to be involved with this matter and not present themselves, however, they will face the full extent of kingdom law. Due to this breach in security, we will not be allowing the public to enter the academy grounds, including merchants, and guards will be posted at all entrances. If you have any information regarding what has taken place, I urge you to meet with me in my office as soon as possible. Your scheduled classes will take place as per normal routine. That is all."

The curse of a family is carried on the shoulders of the next generation

Lunastasia Stayed toward the back of the ceremony halls she hated large crowds and this one was way to big for comfort. Her skin was cold when the headmaster spoke of a disaster she hoped it wasnt the faint call of death her senses try to get her attention of. She would have hated if she was being warned of trouble and she ignored it she felt guilty. He face hung low shade tried to get her to stop blaming herself of death. "Lunastasia my Dear your just the collector of souls not the bringer please child" cut off by Lunastasia by the raise of her hand he let out a puff of air thinking she was just to soft hearted.

tab Lark listened intently to the announcement near the entrance with Gure by his side. Gripping the hilt of his precious sword, he furrowed his brow, attempting to think back to all the students or staff he has ever encountered in the two days since he's been enrolled. Alas, he could think of no one who was suspicious besides the Jorin boy that disappeared. Gure thought back as well, but, although it knew more people than Lark, it also couldn't come up with anyone who might be responsible. As they left on their way to Lark's next class, he began to ponder how he awakened in his room at Dovan's Lodge.

It would make sense as to why he didn't recall the incident of the day before. Following the girl's healing, Gure had somehow gotten a student who lived near Dovan's Lodge to carry him there before he woke up. It shook its head, in response to Lark's question, obviously eager to keep the whole thing a secret from him for as long as possible.

__________Kreiva Ruskilitzer_________

[ - - - Ceremony Hall - - - ]

Kreiva jolted awake at the sound of the academy's bells being rung. A short stream of curses followed (short compared to her usual strings of profanity, at least) as she slowly rose from her bed. Her body was stiff, as it always was on these crummy beds, but the pain from her previously broken bones had subsided. She tested putting weight on her leg with hesitancy, and felt relief when she could walk just fine. The rapid recuperative ability was the only thing she liked about being bonded to her dragon, but it wasn't even close to being enough to not make her resentful. She put those thoughts aside as she scratched her head, yawned, and then grabbed her things. The witch didn't want to find out what sort of punishment being late to an assembly held.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Kreiva remained seated on her chair. Her knuckles were white as she gripped the seat, and she felt a chill in her body. She had been in the infirmary that very same day. Had she not lost her temper and stormed out, or had the sedative been more effective, that could have been her. Would she have gone missing too, or would she have died in the fire? "What the hell is wrong with this place?" She wondered. On a lesser note, she remembered that she had left her bag there. Odds are it was burned to a cinder now, money, materials, and all. She had her crummy room until the end of the month, but scraping together enough to keep it while also being able to eat would be nigh impossible. Her grip on the chair relaxed as the weight bore down on her. "Does the world just like shitting on me or something? Give me a break. ********] She mumbled.

Cael stood to the side during the ceremony, keeping near a window so he could see Sylvar in case something happened. Apparently there was a duel of sorts earlier, in which one of the students was severely injured, and went missing in the fire. He didn't know either of them, as he apparently arrived after the duel yesterday. when it was all over, he flocked out with numerous others and headed toward the field. Sylvar followed along, albeit outside in the sunlight. The admissions work went through without a hitch, no errors in the writing or the history report. Of course much of it was changed to keep them from connecting him to his family. With his journey he had plenty of time to iron out all the kinks in the story. He walked out onto the field, meeting Sylvar along the way. He moved over to the remains of the tent, looking over them, while Sylvar watched everything around them and the ground. Sylvar was always the better investigator of the two, leaving some people they met thinking a dragon could be smarter than people.

His sleep was restless. The silver haired teen tossed and turned in his sleep, plagued by nightmares of his past. Evaliir was use to this since it seemed to happy every other day, so the dragon was perched on the edge of the bed waiting for her rider to wake. Thankfully, the middle of Michael's nightmare was interrupted by the screeching of the warning bells causing him to jerk upright in his startled state. His breathing was heavy and sweat drenched his being as a hand found its way to his forehead to support his drooping head. They were getting worse, those dreams. After taking a moment or two to gather himself, Michael took a look around his rather empty room before his light blue gaze landed on Evaliir. Something is wrong. Very wrong. Michael made no response to his dragon as he exited his bed, kicking the sheets off as he rose. They were going to be expected to go to the Ceremony Hall.

After quickly washing his face and changing his clothes, Michael and Evaliir found their way into the Hall and took a seat towards the back of the place. The loudness of the chattering didn't much bother Michael, but it was all the different thoughts racing through the room that did. He was trying to figure out exactly what was going on since he suspected this wasn't a regular Ceremony, but there were too many people to try and filter through. Releasing a long, exhaled breath, the five star rider slumped back in his chair. He was just going to have to wait just like everyone else. He didn't have to wait long, though. A hush fell over the crowd as the headmaster took the stage. The news he delivered was unexpected. Michael had been at the academy since his youth and nothing like this had ever happened before.

The speech was not drawn out and no detailed information was given other than they knew it wasn't an accident. It was no secret that a lot of people disliked Jorin and his mount, but Michael couldn't think of anyone who would legitimately attempt to kill the rich kid. For a while, Michael remained seated as the noise once again rose within the hall. Some people were panicked while others seemed to brush it off, not at all concerned with Jorin's safety. It wasn't until Evaliir nipped Michael's fingers that he came back from his thoughts and into focus. Perhaps he should mention to the masters of the school the situation that arose yesterday with Jorin picking on a one star. He doubted the information was relevant since one of the masters already knew about it, but Michael couldn't shake the feeling that this attack wasn't just about petty revenge on Jorin.

So someone who had access to the academy attacked the training ground infirmary, burned it down, and the kid who was inside has disappeared, along with his dragon. Strange. Maiya turned to look down at the ground, attempting to figure this out. Maiya had heard of the kid Jorin but he did not once approach her and Faera. He had a reputation her for sure.
