Saruchi Harashi

Known Power - Black Magic

Saruchi woke up this morning by an annoying, loud alarm clock. She slammed the top of the clock, which made it stop ringing. She disliked waking up so early in the morning because she didn't feel like she got enough sleep each day. Then another loud bang hit the door, her mom came in and yelled for her to get up.

"Alright, alright, I'm up." She cried to her mom in a sleepy voice.

Then her mom yelled hurry because it was already 6 AM and she just went to get the mail. She passed Saruchi a letter she got from the mail. Saruchi read it and she quickly ran to the sink and started washing herself.

"I'll be down in 20 minutes!" She yelled to her mom.

Saruchi quickly took a shower and brushed her teeth. Got into clean clothes and getting ready as fast as she could. Then after a few minutes before 6:30, she ran down the short stairs of her house. She came down and sat in a small, squared table and pushed herself into the rectangular table. She was so excited she was finally getting away from her house and into her own dorm.

She waited for this day to come and it finally happened. She quickly ate the eggs and sausages off her plate and ran out the door. Then remembering that she had to pack some money and a few pencils and notebooks. She ran back upstairs to get some supplies for school. In 5 minutes, she ran back down and out the door.

She checked everything she had, and looked for a nearby bus stop that was going to Fantasy Academy. It finally came, and there were so many adults going on the bus because they wanted to say "Goodbye" one last time. After she finally got on, she got a phone call from her mom. Sighing, she picked up the dark blue cell phone. Her mom was babbling about how she needed to be careful and make sure to eat something everyday.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah.. I kept saying over and over.

Her mom kept talking and talking, and talking. Over and over, it seemed like it wouldn't stop. Then, Saruchi just stopped it.

"MOM!" The girl screamed into the phone.

She stopped in a small amount silence, then said "Your right, I'm worrying to much, sorry."

Saruchi felt a little annoyance from her, then sighed, said bye, and hung up before she could say anything. The bus started going and the people behind were being super loud. Saruchi was not very excited anymore because of the loud talking and the crying of people behind.

She got up and flashed her hand across her and yelled "BE QUIET!"

All of a sudden, there was a loud crash, Oops She thought. She looked outside and it looked like a small lightning streak hit the top of the bus. It wasn't very big, but it made a dent into the bus. Everyone tried to figure out what it was and Saruchi just slid down the seat to make sure no one would notice it was her who had done that. Then it went for about 10 minutes and it finally made it to the academy. Saruchi ran out so she didn't have to deal with pushing and shoving. Then started to head towards the cafeteria.

Beep beep beep! Beep beep- Emiko groaned as she shut off her alarm clock. She then looked at it again and read six o' clock. She slowly walked towards the bathroom with a towel in one hand and extra clothes in the other while remembering the letter. She quickly took a ten minute shower, got dressed, brushed her teeth, and went downstairs. "Good morning mom." She said as she read the letter on the table again. "Good morning Emiko, hungry?" Her mom asked.

Dear, Emiko

We welcome you to join Fantasy Academy as a tenth. We hope that you join because we think we could really use you for our school. If you want to come, please join a meeting of 30 students [You are one of them] on August 15th, at 7AM. We also have dorm rooms for 2 to 3 students in one room. The location of this meeting will be at the cafeteria of Fantasy Academy. This school is for 10th grade to 12th grade years of high school. We will be adding a college part of the school on November 5th.

From Fantasy Academy

"Actually, I think i'll skip breakfast." She said. She then ran upstairs to get her messenger bag and stuffed things in there like her letter, some extra clothes, some extra shoes, a wallet, and a swimsuit just in case. Once she was ready she ran back downstairs and got in the car. Her mom started the car and drove off. Emiko watched as trees and people who were walking this morning quickly passed by.

The car suddenly stopped and she looked at her surroundings. "Okay sweetie. This is the school." Her mom said. "Okay, bye mom!" She said and ran out the door and into the school. She finally made it to the cafeteria and flipped open her phone. She then put it on vibrate, she didn't want her phone to be ringing in the middle of someone's speech.

Valerie was sitting cross legged at the kitchen table while she sipped her coffee and took a bite of her toast. She looked at her watch and noticed the time.
“Oh my god!” she yelped and quickly stood up.

“Mom, I’m leaving, I’ll try to call you when I get there okay? Love you always, bye!” she called and quickly grabbed her bags and left out the door running with toast in her mouth.

The bus came and she quickly stepped on the bus and it took off to Fantasy Academy. “I hope I make a good first impression…” she thought and casually stepped out the bus and entered the school. Wandering the hallways holding her map in her hands she tried to find her dorm.

"Wow this place is beautiful." She said gazing around.
Valerie laughed and cheerfully walked down the fancy hallways with a friendly smile on her face.

Taikii Michikaze

Taikii walked out of his room and into the wash room of his house. He took his shower, brushed his teeth, and went on downstairs. His dad, who just came home from the mailbox, handed him a letter. As Taikii read it, he was a bit surprised. His mom was out to the store, so he couldn't say goodbye to her. He ate breakfast and at 5:45 AM, he went upstairs to his room to pack.

He packed small because he was probably going to buy things and get job. Also, at some point, there was going to be a college built, so he was going to stay there for a long time. He went down stairs told his dad he was going to walk there since it was early. He said bye to his dad and walked out the door. It was a long way, but he was up for it, since it was early, he could take his time. He walked a few blocks away from his house, and saw a bench.

Checked his phone, 6 AM, it was an hour away from the meeting. He wasn't so tired, so he got up again and walked a little faster than usual. Finally at the school, he went through the hallways looking for the cafeteria. After looking around, he accidentally bumped into a girl with a light brown hair, and a seemingly pink vail.

"Oh, sorry." He said in a quiet, though voice she could hear it.

He struck his hand out introducing himself.

"H..Hi..I'm Taikii." He started. "Nice to meet you" He added, trying to get away from the subject of him bumping into her.

Slowly and gingerly, the girl shifted her weight off of her left leg, hissing softly as the numbness settled in. She had been sitting there in that room with her nose stuck in a book for so long that her legs refused to move--not that she had a problem with that, seeing as she now had an excuse not to go downstairs for breakfast. Ashkh'ara, or Khara, as her distant cousin, Donovan, liked to call her, had been in her room since about seven that morning just reading a book. It had become a habit of hers, hiding in her room for half the morning, and she did not care how many times the household's staff told her she needed to have her breakfast or she'd get herself sick. With a sigh, Khara kneaded her knuckles into her leg and continued reading, as if nothing more mattered to her in the world. She had started the thick book yesterday when the entire family had gone to that big party in the evening. People tended to be dazzled by the family, but luckily Khara had enough cousins to take her place on the dance floor and elsewhere for them to notice that she was hidden in another room just reading and sketching occasionally on the little table napkins which lay about should any one needs them. Now in her room the next morning, Khara smiled faintly to herself. Her room, with its 30 feet high cathedral ceilings and massive expanse of living room was just the perfect place for her to get away from her family, seeing as she was currently on the third floor of the Ar‘ahvae mansion, in which about one or two other families lived. Well…. Almost the perfect place to get away. A knock came from her door.

”Khara. It‘s no good trying to hide all day in your room.”a familiar voice came slithering from underneath the door--her distant relative, Donovan.”Well, in any case, your mother is looking for you. You‘re going to miss breakfast and she‘s not going to be happy.”Khara sighed, and carefully placed a tasseled bookmark into the pages of her book, closing it with a soft, muffled thump before she set it on the table next to her. She ran a brush through her cascading black tresses and opened her door; the girl ran into a tall, black haired young man, roughly the same age as she was, and sighed. ”Good morning, Don. There isn‘t any need to stand there in front of my door after you‘ve just told me to get out.”Khara said, tilting her head back to look up at Donovan. He seemed to smirk at her, but made a dramatized gesture toward the hallway which led to the stairs down to the Great Hall. “Right this way, Oh, Grumpy Princess.” he announced. Khara sighed, not bothering to answer the boy and stalked off toward the staircase. Don followed close behind her. Don‘t get her huffy attitude toward Don wrong. He was a very attractive young man…there was just something about him that made one feel…very strange. Just the way he looked at one…forced one to wonder what he was thinking. It wasn‘t ever clear. Khara nearly tripped going down the stairs at the thought of it, but grasped the banister very tightly in her hands to prevent herself from tumbling down two flights of stairs.

In the dining room, her mother looked up at her from a pile of bills and taxed and another business letters. For a moment, she looked at both Donovan and her daughter as if she were matching them up in her head and comparing them. When she was satisfied with herself, the woman cleared her throat and spoke.
"Well, there you are. I was beginning to wonder what took you two so long to get down here. I have some letters for you two right here. They look important." Donovan smiled and reached over to the table, grabbing the two letters and handing one to Khara, who scrunched her face and took one into her hand. The envelope was sealed with the age old style of the wax seal. Whatever that envelope carried... it was pretty heavy. "Thanks, Aunt Lissa. And we are sorry to have kept you waiting." Khara glanced at Donovan and her mother, but turned her eyes back to the envelope in her fingers as she sat down to breakfast. The maids, aware that the two had entered the breakfast nook, has started bringing out fresh plates of steaming pancakes, eggs, sausages and bacon--the normal, everyday breakfast. Khara paid them no attention as she broke the wax seal and pulled out the envelope's content. It consisted of many folded stationary of fine quality parchment. Khara's eyes scanned the letter, her eyes slowly growing wider as she read. If the letter wasn't lying to her, she had just been invited to go to an academy of magic. Khara looked up at her mother."It's a letter from a school called Fantasy Academy. They teach magic to kids, and help them specialize on one."

Pisa rushed out of the house, her luggage was now being lugged into the car by the chauffeur along side Donovan's luggage.Within moments, she and Donovan were well on their way to this Fantasy Academy. There was little to talk about to Donovan, who was on his phone with some unnamed person, and the chauffeur had put up the screen between the driver and passengers to drown out Donovan's voice. Khara had resorted to staring out the window in silence to keep herself amused. Within moments, the grandiose academy drew into sight with its tall gates and large stone facade, and seemed to stop breathing for a long while."You're turning a little blue there, darling."Donovan said. Khara looked up at Donovan in slight horror."Don't call me that... You're almost like my cousin and you calling me that is beyond disturbing." The chauffeur walked around the car and opened the door, stepping aside to allow Donovan and Khara out of the car. Khara nodded at the Chauffeur and thanked him for driving them to the academy. Khara smiled and looked around as it she would never have enough time to take it all in. As they approached the gates with their luggage, the gates swung open to allow them in. Donovan looked around as if he'd seen it all before, but he did look quite amused to be there.
"It sure is nice...Even the academy Mom sent me to when I was a kid didn't look as nice."

“La, la, laa.” She started humming. Valerie was in a good mood yes she was. “I’m ready!” she said bravely to herself and yawned lightly swinging her arms back and forth. “Excuse me.” Valerie muttered ruefully, trying to make her way through the crowded hallways pushing and shoving. “I don’t mean to be rude, but these people needed to pay attention, instead of blocking the hallways and gossiping with their girlfriends for god’s sake.” Valerie growled.

“My gosh, I finally made it to the other side. Mission impossible completed.” She joked playfully and giggled to herself. “Let’s go this way.” She thought and turned around the corner when she suddenly bumped into someone.

“I’m sorry!” she gulped, hanging her head down while her bangs flopped everywhere. “Ow!” Valerie thought rubbing her arm. She looked up and saw it was a boy staring at her holding out his hand. “Quick!” Was the first thing that came to mind.

“Oh. Hello there, I’m…uh Valerie nice to meet you.” She managed to get out, shaking his hand. She straightened out her posture and tucked her map into her bag. “Um…so, where are you heading right now?” Valerie brought up smiling. Every now and then she glanced anxiously towards the clock. “Why am I nervous?” Valerie thought. Her stomach growled softly and she laughed nervously, hoping he didn’t hear.
