Fredrick turned to the newcomer and narrowed his eyes. He sniffed the air, tasting her scent. She was not a threat.

"If it would please the lady, I will escort you after I am finished with my companion." He rumbled with an incongruously calm smile. "In the meantime, you may walk with us should you desire."

Petra climbed out of her silver car and looked up at the school that would be her new home for the next two or so years. She hated leaving her family like this but the fact that the full moon was in a few days and she was currently walking around with brown furred ears and a tail meant home just wasn't home anymore. "Home sweet home, I guess," she whispered to herself and moved around to the trunk to grab her suitcases.

With a large computer bag over her shoulder and two suitcases dragging behind her, Petra went inside the school and looked around for any sign of life. She could hear voices echoing through the halls, and even a voice or two coming down the staircase, but she didn't see anybody. "Okay, elevator first and I'm going to the second floor."

After searching for a couple minutes, Petra found the nearest elevator and let out a sigh of relief. During the quick ride up to the second floor, she checked to make sure she remembered which dorm room would be hers and whoever her roommate was.

As she moved down the hallway to her room, Petra passed by an open door where two boys were talking to each other. They both looked her age so she assumed they were students as well. Deciding to wait before she talked to them, she rolled her suitcases into her new room and quickly called the large bed nearest to the window. Now she would be able to enjoy the early rays of sunshine in the mornings without problem.

Finally free of her luggage, she left her room and softly knocked on the open door of the boys' room. "Hi, I'm um...Petra. Petra Stark. We're neighbors."

Anathema noticed another girl walk by as the man spoke to her. She watched the girl walk by and carry her luggage to her dorm, which didn't seem to be far at all. In fact, she was right next door to them. She looked at the man who was speaking to her, noticing him sniff the air as she stood there.

"Do I smell funny?" She asked abrasively as she leaned back a little and fanned the air with her hand. Her tone quickly changed when she noticed how friendly and gentlemanly the man was to her.

"Oh...I don't want to be a burden. If you could just tell me my room number, I'll be out of the way."
She gave a half-hearted smile and blew her bangs out of her face, shifting her backpack to make it for more comfortably. She did still have her luggage with her, but hopefully she wouldn't much longer.

The girl from before had now knocked on the open door, introducing herself as the boys' neighbor. It seemed that Anathema wouldn't be as close to people as she wanted to be, dorm-wise. As far as she knew, she didn't have a roommate yet, either. She remained silent while the girl spoke and followed suit; introducing herself after Petra.

"I'm Anathema, but you can call me Ana."

Fredrik nodded passively. "Though I would say the more the merrier, the decision is yours." He said. He extended a hand out for the paper. "Let me see the paper, fräulein."

"Oh, you're Anathema?" Petra asked with wide eyes and reached into her back pocket to pull out a piece of paper that looked like it had been opened and folded way too many times. "Ana, it looks like we're roommates. Room 206 next door. I hope you don't mind that I took the bed by the window. I have a thing about windows." Petra smiled warmly and tucked a stray hair behind her ear, her ears twitching on top of her head.

Fredrik paused for a moment then slowly withdrew his hand. "Never mind." He said with a chuckle.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you. I have a bad habit of doing that," Petra blushed and chewed her lip nervously. She extended a hand toward the boy and smiled. "Petra Stark. Very nice to meet you."

Petra looked at Ana and helpfully took one of her bags to lessen her load. "I can show you to our room if you want. It's huge and the beds are amazing. I put almost all of my luggage on my bed and there's still room to sit down. Which is a bit of a surprise since I brought almost my entire bedroom." Petra giggled softly and closed her mouth when she realized she was rambling a bit and shrugged. "Sorry, first day jitters. I'm normally not like this."

Before Ana could retrieve the paper from her backpack, Petra had mentioned that they were roommates. Ana felt a wave of relief; not wanting a big cold dorm to herself. She had been alone most of her life, and now was the time for change.

She nodded to Petra when she was noticed by name.
"It's nice to meet you, Petra Stark." Her blue eyes became soft and tender, soaking up the view of Petra before grabbing her luggage. She turned her attention to Fredrik and smiled softly and spoke in a soft voice.
"Thank you for your offer. I'm just glad I have a roommate afterall."
She tilted her head in a quick nod and gave a wink, and turned back to Petra.
"It's perfectly fine that you chose the bed at the window. You'll come to learn I'm quite easy to get along with."

She listened to Petra speak at what seemed like ninety miles a minute, chuckling.
"I understand; I'm pretty nervous on the first day, myself."

Isamu shifted in discomfort at the sudden wave of people that seemed to keep walking by. He had met Ana and Fredrick so far, but there were so many students, hundreds. It seemed as though just a moment before there were only a few of them in the hallway, but it was now becoming much more crowded. His body tensed and some of the hairs on his head stood on edge. It became more important now, that he find his dorm. Of course, Ana didn't stick around long, she was soon gone, apparently having gone upstairs without needing any assistance.

Isamu side-stepped closer to Fredrick as a large group of boys pushed past him without even giving him a second thought. He gripped Viira's mane and tried to stay as far out of the way as possible.

Jukak shook Petra's hand, "Im Jukka Holkeri. I suppose you are right, we are neighbors," he replied as he greeted her with a friendly grin. His ears twitched and he leaned against the door as Ana appeared. It seemed as though he would be neighbors with the two girls, and he definitely wasn't about to complain about that! "Well, the two of your should go and settle into your room now, but feel free to stop by at any time!" He stated as he watched the two girls go to their room. He then turned and continued unpacking his things.

Petra grinned and led Ana to their room, sitting the bag she had carried for her on her bed. "You're not the only one that thought wouldn't get a roommate. I don't know, I figured that we would all have our own rooms, but I'm glad we don't. And I'm certainly surprised that our room is right next to the boys."

Petra sat down on the edge of her bed and pulled her knees up, looking at Ana with wide eyes. "So, what brings you to this school? I mean, I haven't really seen many humans around here." Petra rose from her bed and opened her computer bag, pulling out her laptop and sitting it on the desk along with some speakers and a drawing tablet. She definitely was not looking forward to unpacking everything.

Ana looked back at Jukka as Petra began walking next door to their dorm. She wasn't too far behind. She nodded to Jukka with a smile and walked with Petra.
"Aw, thank you. You didn't have to carry that for me... I feel terrible."
She hung her head, placing a hand under her bag to at least help with the weight of it.

Once they entered their dorm, Petra sat at the edge of her bed while Anathema began unpacking; taking out her laptop and tablet, along with her iPod. She placed them on the table between the beds and then sat at the edge of her bed.

"What brings me here? A long and complicated past. I...dabbled into some dark arts and my parents disowned me for it. Cast me out and sent me to a Christian school." She sighed and began running her fingers through her hair.
"I was cast out from there, too, and sent to three foster families. Now I'm here."
She looked up at Petra who had now stood to unpack as well.

"I suppose there's a bright side to this tale," she began as she stood and walked to the window. More students were arriving now and she watched them, occasionally looking at Petra's reflection in the window.
"I'm a pretty damn good Black Mage because of it all."

She turned and smiled to Petra; a menacing, yet friendly grin. She winked at her and then crossed her arms.
"What about you? There's so many fantastical beings here...it's actually quite an honor to be surrounded by something other than humans!"
Risa Petrov

A medium-sized animal stood in the shadows, outside of the academy building. It's short auburn fur was coated in mud, leaves, and twigs as well as its breathing was heavy. The body was made up of a cat, except was quite larger than a regular feline. This species of animal was called a werecat.
Shaking as much of the woods off it could get, the werecat transformed into a young adult female who quickly threw on a pair of shorts and a jacket. She threw her hair up in a ponytail, looking disgusted at all the mud that was laced throughout it. Her eyes took in the building in front of her - a place she was fixing to call home.
"They better have some hot water," The girl, who was named Risa after her grandmother, muttered as she grabbed her bags that were laying on the ground. The tops of the bag were covered in her slobber, but she didn't mind it. In fact, she was used to it seeing as she has been on foot(or should I say paws) the whole way here. Glancing once more at the woods she just came from, Risa set out to find her dorm room and to hopefully not encounter any other beings.
A few minutes passed before she came to a hallway that had some fellow students in it. Coincidentally, this was the hall that lead to her room. She muttered a few curses under her breath before pushing forward. You'll be fine. Just don't brush up against them or be stopped and you'll be fine, Risa thought as she was inching closer by the second.

Petra smiled and looked up at Ana, flipping open one of her suitcases and pulling out clothes and hangers. "Well, you see these?" she asked and tugged on one of her brown ears. "I wish they were a costume. I'm a werecat, just like my mom. I only started transforming a couple years ago. Since I can't fully control it yet, I transform a few days before the full moon and stay that way until it's over. So, you can guess why I had to leave town."

Petra shrugged and chuckled, just glad her situation wasn't as strange as some others. "And I wouldn't really consider it an honor to be around me. I'm just an ordinary person. I'm not some special being that needs recognition or anything. I can't even shift into a full cat yet. But thank you for saying that."

Petra folded some of her clothes and laid them in the dresser beside her bed, looking curiously out their open door as people filed past.

When the human cat-like creature, Neko... noted Lucien in thought, had introduced himself to him, Lucien raised an eyebrow at him. "You were correct the first time," Said the Yokai while extending his own hand out in front of him to grasp Jukka's in a firm handshake. "Lucien von Grey, pleasure to make your acquaintance." He added formally and then released his hand.

Lucien tilted his head down in a small gesture of a bow before he maneuvered around Jukka to enter their dormitory. However, the pile of shells and beach-related items didn't go unnoticed by Lucien. "Your bed?" Asked Lucien when he saw that the pile was next to one of the beds and an open suitcase was in the midst of being unpacked. "Then that means this shall be mine, yes?" He assumed, already claiming the vacant bed and drawer.

Wheeling his suitcase beside him, Lucien gently placed the suitcase on the ground and the rest of his luggage, including his backpack, on his bed. In a matter of a few short minutes, Lucien was beginning to settle into his new dormitory by organizing his clothes in the individual drawers and sorting out his school supplies.

He waited patiently for Jukka's reply as he continued to unpack.

Until, Lucien heard two girl voices speaking to Jukka. He looked over and noticed a blue-haired girl with fair skin and another feline-like student like his roommate. "Lucien von Grey." He introduced himself rather quickly before he tended back to his luggage. Luckily for him, the girls gave their farewells and exited their room.

Neighbors, huh? Thought Lucien.
