Summary
Kaede Academy is an all boys boarding school for both humans and vampires. Of course, the vampires are not allowed to reveal their existence. This rule was established because of the humans ignorance of the unordinary beings of the world, and Headmaster would like to keep it that way. Other than that, Kaede is a renown all-boys school known for their quality education, and handsome men that teach and attend this wondrous school...

Things to Remember
This is a Japanese school! Japanese schools start on April 8th, and the first term runs until July 24th. Then there's summer vacation. School starts back up again on September 1st, beginning the second term. This ends December 25th (Christmas is not a holiday in Japan), and winter break begins. The final term begins on January 8th and continues until March 24th.

There are only 3 years of high school in Japan. So, you're either a first, second, or third year student. (Freshman, Junior, and Senior)

You are allowed to have other ethnicities, especially if you're a vampire, attend the school as foreigners. I just wanted you all to know that this takes place in Japan.

Being a teacher or nurse at Kaede Academy, even if you are a human, you will know the existence of vampires. Other staff, such as janitor's, lunch monitors, etc don't know about them.

No one Only a select few actually know who the Headmaster of the Academy is, or what he looks like.

Sort of like Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight, the vampires are separated into a separate dorm for obvious reasons. They also attend class at night, so they are referred to as the night class, just like in Vampire Knight.

Day Class Uniforms & Night Class Uniforms

The Sun Dorm is for the humans, the Moon Dorm is for the vampires.

There are no rules restricting the vampires from interacting with the humans, in fact the vampires and humans have clubs together. But the vampires don't seem to want to associate with them anyway. Because of this, the humans think of the Night class as "stuck up pretty boys". (Not everyone feels this way though!)

Night Class students are given another set of rules along with school rules. These extra rules basically say, "Don't reveal your vampire existence!". They include not to use their powers (if they have any). If you use your powers (depending on what it was and how many mortals saw it) you'll be given the appropriate disciplinary action. Of course, the humans who witnessed will have their memory wiped.
A definite expulsion would be to use the humans as blood bags, meaning feeding from them. If caught doing this you'll immediately be expelled (you're lucky if you only get expelled) and the human will have his memory wiped.
Of course, there are many other rules restricting most all ordinary vampire activity. Basically, the vampires have to act as human as possible (on top of following the regular school rules!)

While in the dorms, the night class is given daily doses of blood tablets as a replacement for real blood. Although it gives them the proper nutrients they would get from a regular feeding, it is not quite as satisfying. It isn't very delicious either.

There are very few purebloods. For now, there are only two (known) at this school. They are held in high regard among their fellow vampires, so they are expected to set an example. They are the only ones who can have the power to wipe a human's memory, but because they regularly follow the school rules, the Headmaster isn't worried about them using their powers for naught. {That being said, there can be times when the pureblood decides to break the rules and feed from a human, then wipe his memory wink }

About the Vampires
Instead of dying in the sunlight, they just become powerless and weak. If they spend too long out in the sun, they will eventually become drained of energy and wither away.

As mentioned before, there are very few purebloods, and they are the only type of vampires who can wipe a human's memory.

A vampire's bite can be very painful at first, but soon becomes a very addictive feeling, almost that of sex.

A pureblood's saliva has healing abilities, meaning it can instantly heal flesh wounds. This comes in handy when it comes to feeding, since, with just one lick, the bite wound will vanish. Otherwise, it usually takes a week or more to heal up. (depending on how deep the fangs went in and how sensitive one's skin is). However, other injuries such as broken bones, deep cuts, and the like won't be healed by pureblood saliva...

The vampire hierarchy is as follows:
Purebloods, just as their names suggest, are the highest ranking vampires who's blood remains pure without any human contamination. They can trace their lineage back to the original ancestors or founders of the vampire race and hold a lot of mysterious power. Unfortunately, the number of purebloods have declined over the years because of interbreeding with humans and the ongoing war between vampires and hunters. Presently, there are a few numbers of purebloods left in the world and many vampires regard them as highly prized or a powerful threat to both human and vampire society.
Nobles, although not as high and almighty as the purebloods, they are also powerful and not to be trifled with. They are considered elite because of the specialized power they all possess and their strong influence in vampire politics. Compared to normal vampires, Nobles enjoy a much more independent lifestyle in general.
Common vampires are vampires who were once human, but were turned vampire. They rarely have any special powers other than superhuman speed and strength, and even then, that is limited.

As long as they feed regularly, whether it be from the tablets or from a regular feeding, they won't be cold to the touch, they won't age, they won't go mad with bloodlust, etc.

Compared to the tablets, feeding from human is much more satisfying considering the effects of the tablets aren't as strong. Feeding from a human tastes (so much) better, and like I said before, the effects are a lot stronger. Also, if you feed from a human, you don't have to feed for about a week. However, you have to take tablets daily...

All vampires in the school, students and faculty, are given a container filled with blood tablets. They should be carrying them around with them, so if they are having cravings, the tablets will conveniently be with them.

Purebloods can sense the presence of other purebloods.

Purebloods are the only vampires who can form a sire bond with those they have turned. This is an involuntary side effect that only happens with purebloods, never with nobles or commons!
The sire bond is when the person who has been turned into a vampire is utterly loyal to the pureblood that had turned them, going along with every direct/indirect order the pureblood gives.
Sire means "to father" or "to cause to exist", so depending on the person, the sired vampire will either see their pureblood sire as a father/mother figure or they will having incredibly strong feelings, very similar to love for them.
The only way the bond can be broken is if the pureblood decides to break this bond. After the bond is broken, the rest of their free will is also given back to them. Whether they maintain the feelings they had for the pureblood during their time being sired is up to the person.

For a human to become a vampire, they have to drink a vampire's blood and die with the blood in their system. How long the blood stays in their system depends on how much blood they consumed. Of course, vampire blood is disgusting to a human...

The turning process is very painful. Aside from actually dying, you immediately grow fangs which puts a tremendous pain in your mouth for about three hours. Afterwords, you'll have a strong thirst which will only be sated if you drink blood. If you don't fulfill this thirst within a week, you will die.

It does not matter if you were turned by a common, noble, or a pureblood, you will be a common vampire after being turned no matter the circumstance. Purebloods are vampires who've no human blood in their system, their ancestors were all purebloods before them. Noble vampires are born vampires. They have common vampire ancestors, or human ancestors, but most pure vampire ancestors. Common vampires are always turned, if a vampire mates with a human, then their baby will also be a common. if a common mates with another common, then their baby will be a common. If a common mates with a noble, or a pureblood, then their baby will be a noble. If a human mates with a pureblood, then their baby will be a noble. Any human who mates with a vampire will, more often then not, die giving birth.

School Rules
School rules are intended to ensure the safety and welfare of pupils and the smooth functioning of the school community. All schools publish their own rules and children are expected to abide by them.

1.) Students are not allowed to leave school premises during the school semester. Field trips, drills, fires, or student vacations/free time are the only exceptions.
2.) Good manners, a sense of responsibility and tidiness are expected of children at all times and especially when representing the school away from the school premises.
3.) Attendance at all classes, as well as any scheduled games or other activities on the child's timetable, is compulsory. When in class children are expected to show a positive attitude and involvement in all class activities. Disruptive behavior in class is not tolerated.
4.) Violence, bullying, threatening or dishonest behavior is not permitted, nor is the possession of fireworks, dangerous weapons, cigarettes, alcohol, illegal drugs or pornographic material. Parents are encouraged to ask the schools they are considering for their children to provide a copy of their policy regarding bullying.
5.) Children should respect the property of others and mobile phones are discouraged as the schools are not responsible for their security. They should never be used at a time which disturbs others.
6.) Children should take pride in their personal appearance and ensure that their clothes are neat and clean. Hair must be of a style and cut approved by the senior staff of the school. The wearing of jewelry is not usually permitted with the exception of one pair of plain metal earrings as may a plain metal necklace with a simple emblem.
7.)Curfew is 8:00 P.M. for Day Class students. They are expected to be in their dorms with the lights out at this time. For Night Class students, curfew is 8:00 A.M.
8.)Finally, no romantic relationships are permitted! Bringing the opposite sex on school premises is prohibited with the exception of school events.

Discipline
Schools adopt various sanctions against children who break the school rules. The most common punishments are as follows:

Detention: the child is required to do supervised academic work or community service for periods of 30 minutes or more during time when they would otherwise be free, e.g. during the lunch hour or after the school day has finished. This is normally used for infringements such as lack of effort in class or minor misbehavior.

Internal suspension: the child attends all lessons but in their free time must undertake community service and miss any extra-curricular activities such as sports or clubs. The child may also have to report to the Head at specified times. This may last for a week and is used for a serious breach of school rules (e.g. the possession or consumption of alcohol) or persistent bad behavior.

Suspension: the child may be asked to leave the school for a short period of time. In the case of a child from overseas they will be required to stay with their guardian family. This is not a holiday, and may disrupt the child's academic work; it would be used for a very serious breach of school rules such as bullying.

Expulsion: in extreme cases such as the possession of illegal drugs (feeding from a student), a child may be asked to leave the school altogether. There is no refund of school fees.

Death: if... wait, what?!

If you break the roleplay rules, you will be sent a warning. If you continue to ignore these rules, then you will be removed from the roleplay altogether.

The woods serve as a border between the run down part of the campus and the active part. On the other side of the woods lie the old night dorm which had been abandoned due some serious damage caused to it in the past, rumors soon spread that the building was haunted, so people don't usually go there unless they are going in for a "test of courage". Adding to the building's eeriness, everything around it (grass, trees, small animals) is dead. In reality there are some stray vampires who had taken refuge here (old night class students in fact), although there are few, they are extremely vicious having gone mad with bloodlust.
The bell tower was abandoned after it was replaced with the wailer's bell, however, on night's of a full moon, you can see a woman with a pure white gown standing at the top of the tower.

About special skills
No mind reading or being able to control someone's character without the other player's consent! Just in case I didn't make myself clear before, only purebloods can erase memories. Please, please, PLEASE make your abilities or skills different from one another; try to be unique. The possibilities are limitless.

Well, there are extra steps than just sending a profile to me. You'll have to send me some samples of you roleplaying ability(Title it Samples for Kaede). Once that's approved, you can send me your profile, and title that "Pureblood @ Kaede!!"
Remember, being a pureblood means you'll have the responsibility of keeping the other vampires in line (If it suits your character wink ). Also don't take advantage of your power! (Remember rule 4!!). Before wiping someone's memory, be sure to get my permission as well as the person's you're rping with!

Wailer's Bell - The wailer's bell is heard throughout the school usually on a schedule. It indicates that something is happening for both Day & Night Classes, but it doesn't mean that they will be doing the same things depending on the time. For example, when the wailer's bell sounds a 6 P.M. it means dinner for the Sun Dorm, but for the Moon Dorm it means it's time for Class.
However, when the wailer's bell sounds at 2:30, both dorms will be having free time to either spend studying, attending clubs, doing sports, or hanging out with friends.
When the wailer's bell is off schedule, it means both dorm should report to the auditorium for an assembly.

Classroom Clean up Duties - Classes usually rotate daily to different groups(5) of students to clean up the classroom after classes have ended. Whoever isn't in that group for that day, they are dismissed from class.

Curriculum(Do not mind the weekly hours) - Homeroom will take place twice a week (Monday & Friday) for thirty minutes taking time out from classroom clean up duties. The curriculum for the night class is roughly the same aside from a few differences. Gym for the Night class will be learning how to annihilate one's enemy, being able to control your powers, and things of the like.
