"Double majoring actually," replied Zander, bending down to pick up some of the papers, "Business administration and music theory."

The raven haired boy had always wanted to own a record company and have his own clothing line, and if he still had time, he wanted to have a music store as well. He had decided early on in life that he would not have a life like his mother. The small apartment, single parent, crappy job life was not the one for him.

"Going to own my own record company, you know?"

His eyes fell once more upon other male. He noticed how tall he was, compared to the usual Asian. He also noticed how attractive he was. Zander always had a thing for the J-rockesque boys. However, those were rare in Atlanta.

"By the way, you got a name or do you want me to just keep calling you kid?"

"i wanted a hair salon. heh."

he tried to make himself blush, really he did.. but he couldn't manage it. it was the truth; what reason had he to blush about the truth? it was only fact, not opinion. while he was collecting papers he could almost feel the other male's gaze sliding over him. then he heard the voice again.

"e to? oh my name? kumori. uzumahi kumori. my friends at home call me ku."

he straightened up completely and held his hand out to the other male to shake it.

"what's yours?"

Zander Nixon

Zander extended his own hand, shaking Kumori's hand lightly. The boy was different in a good way. His dialect seemed to jump languages, reverting from English to what Zander guessed was Japanese.

"Name's Zander Nix," he said, self-shortening his own last name. Nixon didn't flow as nicely as Zander Nix. "Just call me Zander."

He looked around, spotting no more papers, and jammed his hands into his pockets. He flashed the boy a flirtatious smile, one he had given so many times before.

And just as the brunet was getting to the flying boy and the so-called codfish's fight, a sudden voice apologized. Samson wrenched himself from the book and turned his face upwards to meet the eyes of his disruptor. It was someone that he didn't know, and because of this a crimson blush spread over his nose. The twenty-year old glanced down at his book, and bent the top right hand corner. Shutting it, his light blue eyes again wondered up to see the other's face. He opened his mouth to say it was nothing, but nothing came out.

He licked his lips, and tried again ending with the same result. Seeing that this was going no where anytime soon, Sam offered a sheepish grin to the dishwater blonde. He tugged his duffel closer, using it as somewhat of a security blanket.

His sienna eyes glanced to the other, appearing like a fish out of water as he opened and closed his mouth. No words came out and he therefore assumed that he had scared the other, which made him feel quite terrible. His face almost crumpled, quite literally, and he stared shamefully at his feet with his hands clasped behind his back. He didn't dare say anything, afraid he'd make the other feel even more uncomfortable or afraid of the short Emmunal.

He glanced up from beneath his lashes, trying to catch a glimpse of what book the other had been reading. His orbs skated the word 'Peter' before it was cut off by the moving of the other's duffel bag. He looked to his feet once more, as if they were the most interesting thing in the world, and went to take a step back so that he didn't intrude the other's personal bubble when he just fell. Again. Backwards, straight on his read end.

He caught himself with the same wrist again - his left, he was left handed so therefore it was reflex - and his breath drew in quickly at the suddenly shock of new pain from the wrist that had only been throbbing a few seconds ago. Bitter thoughts flooded his mind, and he wished for Phodius to talk to, who was currently fast asleep in his cage upstairs, which he had stowed in the darkness that resided beneath his bed.

Now he looked like even more of an idiot. He drew his knees up, feeling awkward, but he was close enough to the tree to not appear as if he was sitting in the middle of nowhere... This conversation would go nowhere with one extremely shy guy and another one experiencing extreme guilt.. All he could manage to mumble in that lilting voice once more... was a simple introduction.

"I.. I'm Emmunal... Emmy."

kumori smiled up at the caucasian boy and stacked his papers properly. he paperclipped them and put them back into one of his three bags. yes, he had three bags. one was a large duffel, clearly full of clothes. a second was a laptop bag which clearly held a nice laptop as well as a number of papers. but the third bag was what was interesting. it was simply a black bag, but it was extremely lumpy in spots, and if you hit it just right you heard a high-pitched mechanical voice spout something in japanese. looking up again, kumori noticed, for the first time, zander's necklace.

"oh. my. god. is that hello kitty?"

Zander's chocolate colored eyes gazed downward, falling upon his own Hello Kitty necklace. He recalled his friend giving it to him as a cheering up present when he and Zane had broken up. Ever since then, he found himself wearing the necklace quite often. It was almost a reminder of 'I don't need somebody to be happy.' A smile crept across his face.

"Why, yes," he said, grinning like the chesire cat, "Yes, it is."

The boy watched the other appeared almost as uncomfortable as he felt.This tiny of realization made him feel slightly better, but still conversing with a complete stranger was proving to be a difficult task. He cleared his throat and flipped the book in his hands to the other side. Biting the inside of his mouth, he focused on getting the words out."Samson." He replied in his hoarse voice. The brunet blushed deeper with the voicing of the single word.

Although Sam had cleared his throat, it had no effect. The boy's voice was naturally raspy, as if he was just recovering from laryngitis. To some, they found it adorable, to others it just made them wish he'd drink a glass of water.

His hands continued to twist and worm there way in front of his bent knees, and he bit his lip nervously as he watched the other react to his short, choppy sentence and what little he had done in order to press the conversation forward. Yet.. the other just replied with a simple, 'Samson'. He liked that name.. It was like Max or Maximous. Sammy-whammy and Maxi-Taxi... He smiled lightly before glancing up, realizing it was his turn to prod the conversation to life with a few more words of his endless wisdom.

"Uh... Nice to meet you.." That wouldn't be good! He had to ask a question that would need an answer and not just a yes or a no. "U..h.. what are you majoring in?" He wasn't at all bothered by Samson's voice. His own voice was slightly feminine, smooth as could be but very lilting as if he was constantly caught between speech and song. Not the best thing to be... Especially if he planned on being a doctor. No intimidation in a girly doctor, was there now?

kumori couldn't help but laugh. there was humor in tht saying, that was for sure.

"i collect hello kitty."

he said this without blushing, pausing, looking around to see if anyone else was listening, or any other thing that suggested that this embarrassed him. why? because it didn't embarrass him. anything kumori did voluntarily didn't embarrass him, and neither did things he could not help.

"do you want to see my collection? i have it with me."

Zander tilted his head to the side, his eyes widening behind his dark strands of hair. He had never met anybody, boy or girl, that collected Hello Kitty. It threw him off guard to say the least, and it took something major to throw Zander off guard.

"I think I'm going to have to pass on that," he said, laughing slightly, "Seems inappropriate for you to be whipping out belongings out here in the open. Maybe you should take your stuff to your dorm room. Do you know where it is?"

The boy glanced around once more, observing the new students arriving. He had been at Emerlie for two years now. It was nothing new to him, and all of his belongings were in their room where they belonged. He had time to kill.

kumori nodded his head and picked up his duffel from the ground, beginning to make his way up the steps into the dorm building. he paused after he entered. he knew which dorm he had, but he didn't know where it was or whether he was even remotely close to it.

"i uh... know which one it is.. but i don't know where it is. it's dorm eight."

Zander Nixon

Zander thought about it for a moment. He knew exactly where dorm eight was. He just couldn't figure out if he cared enough to show the boy around. Normally, he would have told the person to find the room on their own. This boy--there was something about him. He was different, and Zander found it hard to be his usually mean, sarcastic self towards the boy. 'This isn't like you, Zander. Tell him to find it himself. You know you want to,' his sarcastic subconscious picked at his brain. 'He's pretty cute, you know?' the other side picked.

"I'll help you," said Zander, shrugging casually, "I have nothing better to do."

He walked towards the step and scooped up his sketch book, hugging it close to his body.

"Let's go."

I hit the lights on these dark sets.

A yawn escaped Damien's pale lips as he made his way towards the dorms at his new school. He had been taking a look around the campus for quite some time. He stopped just outside and drew his zippo lighter and a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. Drawing one out of the box he sighed, "I gotta stop doing this.." he spoke absentmindedly as he placed the cigarette between his lips. A spark shot from his lighter as he flicked it on. He raised the flame to the end of his cigarette and lit it, taking a quick drag before flipping the lighter closed. He allowed a small puff of smoke out of the side of his mouth as he looked around, 'Hmm..this place seems pretty mellow..' the thought passed through his mind before he began noticing the string of cute boys that walked by.

The devilish grin his friends back home knew him for began to form on his lips. Taking one last drag of his cigarette he dropped it from his mouth and stepped on it. "To the dorm then.." he chuckled a little before turning to face the building. With one quick glance over it he made his way in. He'd need to place his things in his dorm before finishing his look around.

It only took a minute before he was unpacking and placing his things accordingly. Being sure to hide the things that would be taken away. Such as swords, lighters, cigarettes, and his flask of vodka. As soon as he had everything placed where he wanted it he checked his hair in the mirror before walking back outside. He was in the mood for some flirting. Part one, finding the right target. This was his favorite part, but sadly the most difficult if there a few cute ones around.

I feel my world shake
