Hayate scurried to his own bed, falling into it and grabbing for Haynji, the bear with the pink sweater. He held the bear close, reminiscing on his time back in Tokyo. He wondered for a moment how Renji was doing now that he was gone. The two had grown up together. Friends since diaper days.

His chocolate eyes watched as Kumori placed his own belongings on the other dresser.

"I needed the dorms," he replied, "I don't have anywhere else to go! My entire life is in Japan! Except of course for Haynji!"

He held up the bear for a moment, before placing it back on the bed. His behavior certainly did not suit an eighteen year old college student.

"But still, it's nice to meet new faces. I mean, I met you, and you're pretty awesome!" The boy giggled once more.

ayame sat back up when demetri stood up and faced her. he was still wearing that amazing-to-see smile. she smiled sheepishly back at him, the blush from before slowly leaving her face. that didn't last long, however, because the next few words out of the boy's mouth made her blush further. nonetheless, she lifted her head further and smiled.

"i'd like that.."

she herself stood up, and brushed off the back of her skirt. you never knew who had what on their shoes when they walked on the steps.

"but uhm.. where to?"

sure, she's been at the college for a good year or so, but that didn't mean she knew every local place that there was. she figured she'd see what kinds of places he liked going before suggesting one herself. picking up her small messenger bag that was really her purse, she placed the bubble bottle and the bubble wand back inside, and just left the boombox where it was. it belonged to the school anyway; and if someone took her cd's, she'd burn new ones.

Damien turned to face away from Ian, a small chuckle escaping his lips. "Well to be completely honest you are shorter than me.." He shrugged a bit before looking back at Ian. The grin that appeared on his lips was quite the contrast from his dark appearance. "I mean by almost a foot from what I've seen.." With that he spun around to see what the expression on the boy's face would be.

He always had a knack for making people angry with his jokes. But he usually made up for it if he actually hurt someones feelings. He just brushed some hair out of his good eye as they fell upon his blond friend.

The dark-haired male finished putting the last shirt into his dresser and brushed off his pants, standing up. Elijah stretched, reaching up his arms to the ceiling, and glanced around at his room. Everything was neat and orderly, his now-empty suitcase placed under his bed, all of his clothes and such stored in their proper places. Elijah pursed his lips, and glanced at his book bag, begore crouching in front of it and reaching into a pocket, withdrawing a pack of cigarettes. The male smirked, withdrawing one stick before returning the box to his bag. He then, once again, straightened up and turned, opening the door to his dorm. "Ahh... I need my lighter..." Elijah turned, grabbed the lighter out of his bag and once again exited the dorm, pulling the door closed behind him.

"Now... Outside." The black-haired male muttered to himself, setting off at a half-brisk pace, his feet scuffing the floors. One hand was in his pocket, the lighter as well, and the other hand was bent upwards a little bit, the thin stick that was his cigarette clasped between his index and middle finger. As he exited the school, Elijah's brown eyes narrowed in the glare from the sun, and a few strands of his hair blew haphazordously. The male scanned the grounds, looking for a place relatively secluded for him to enjoy his cigarette in peace. He decided the wall of the school, a short distance away from where he was, woudl be a good place. Elijah made his way over, putting the cigarette in his mouth and withdrawing the lighter as he walked. He ducked his head and brought the lighter to the tip of the cigarette, flicking the switch once, twice, until it caught. Elijah smiled contentedly, as the smoke encircled his head. He exhaled, blowing it out one side of his mouth, as he reached the wall. He didn't see anyone in particular that he wanted to talk to... hopefully there would be some people though.

Eli leaned against the wall casually, his gaze moving from person to person. It lingered on the pair he had seen on the steps for a moment, before coming to rest on someone who was withdrawing a bass guitar form a case. Elijah scowled. He didn't really have any musical abilities... none whatsoever, actually. He was tone-deaf, and couldn't keep a rhythm to save his life. People who were music onsessed and bragged about it just pissed him off to no ends. Mostly 'cause he was jealous. He looked away, his eyes settling on a pair of... boys? A boy and a girl? Elijah couldn't really tell... one was short and blonde, the other taller with pink in his hair. Well... that's quite an odd pairing, isn't it? Maybe they've got no other friends... Pah. The male continued, passing over a couple that were making out. It was then that he saw a girl with a camera, taking a picture of another guy who looked vaguely familiar. He felt a tiny smile come across his face at the thought of her camera... one of his secret loves was of photography. He had a few good pictures, but not enough to be able to put together something worth showing other people. Elijah sighed, wishing he had his camera here, as to take a few shots. But it was back in his room, and he was in no mood to return and get it. The dark-haired male sighed, exhaling once more, the smoke curling towards the sky before getting caught and blown away by a breeze.

Demetri thought about the question for a moment. He didn't know much about the city. After all, it was nowhere near his hometown. He assumed it had the normal restaraunt and places. Perhaps it had a Starbucks. If not, it had a fast food joint. Every small town did. His face twisted in thought.

"Are you a coffee person?" questioned the brunette, "I'll pay. After all, I invited you right?"

"Well, mister giant, I'm full blooded Japanese!" exclaimed the blond, "Do you know how rare it is to see a TALL full-blooded Japanese guy?"

He thought about it for a moment. He had only seen a few tall Japanese guys in his life. He was five six himself. Kyo had been five four. Both of them were fairly short. His dad was a bit taller than most Asians. Ian assumed he inherited his height from his mother. He was a few inches taller than his mom though.

"It's not my fault I'm short!" he added, folding his arms across his chest in a pouty fashion. Ian had always been good at pouting. It got him what he wanted many times. Although at this moment, he didn't want anything particular. At least nothing he figured he could have.

The blond proceeded to walk around the campus. His eyes fell upon a girl and another Asian man. Ian examined the male closely. Something about him seemed familiar. It made Ian's heart stop, freezing him in his tracks. He knew that face. He knew it perfectly.

"K-K-Kyo," he said, mouth gaping. He brought his hand up to his face to cover his mouth. It simply couldn't be. Could it?

"If tomorrow never comes, I would want just one thing.

ayame smiled.

"coffee sounds great. i think i know where a starbucks is. do you have a car, or should i drive?"

she smiled again. she was going to go on a date with some guy she just met, but that didn't matter to her. he was cute, he was sweet, and she wanted to get to know him. why did she keep thinking 'him" or "some guy"? his name was demetri. she nodded to herself and decided to refer to demetri as demetri, even in her head.

kyoshi looked up when he heard a familiar voice speak his name. it sounded like - no. it couldn't be. but then kyoshi looked closer and saw the familiar blonde hair and adorable face.

"i-ian... ian!?"

he walked over to the boy, his eyes wide. no way was ian going to the same college that he was. no way. there was just no possible way that they'd meet again. kyo had established that when he left the band. but yet, here was ian. in the flesh. real.

"ian i- what- what are you doing here?"

Ian stared at Kyoshi in awe. His hand finally falling from his mouth and back to his side, only to reveal an expreassion that near unreadable.

"I-I go here now," he replied, surprised his vocal cords weren't frozen like the rest of him, "B-business major. What are YOU doing here?"

A nervous smile came over his face. Kyoshi seemed so different now, but somehow it was though he had never changed at all. Ian resisted the urge to hug the boy. He figured Kyoshi most likely hated his guts now. He didn't blame him. He hated his own guts sometimes. He couldn't explain why, but he felt tears pricking at his eyes and an odd tightness in his throat.

Demetri thought about it for a moment. He didn't have his own car. He had rode up here with Sam, his older brother. It had seemed stupid to take two cars when everything fit in the bed of the truck. After all, somebody had to buy the gas and other car trip necessities. Sam certainly didn't do so well on his own when it came to that kind of stuff. Of course, that seemed almost stupid to try to explain to Ayame. He decided he'd try to anyway.

"The thing is," he said, jamming his hands into his jean pockets, "I rode up here with my older brother, Sammy. He kind of needs somebody when he goes on the long trips. It's a long story. Too hard to explain really."

He felt weird even trying to explain it. He himself had never quite understood why Sam had been so shy. Demetri was the opposite of Sam. He was loud and had no troubles talking up strangers. This is was obvious by the fact alone he was going on a date with a girl his first day there.

kyoshi stared at ian. business major? how did that work? he didn't see how the ian he once knew would want to major in something like that.

"i uh.. i go here too.. i'm uh.. m-majoring in musical theory and computer programming.."

he stared at ian. how could ian be going to the same school as him? it still didn't make sense in his mind. he noticed ian was smiling, and smiled back. if the boy didn't hate him, things might be different. they could be friends.

Music theory suited Kyo. Ian could imagine the boy spending the rest of his life involved in music. Kyo had always been a good drummer, better than Ian had ever considered himself to be. Of course, Ian had picked up bass too. Even bass didn't work out so well. It was after his second band's fall out, Ian decided to spend his life doing something else. He could run a store the rest of his life. Heartbreaks couldn't mess with that.

Ian couldn't explain what he did next. He reached out, pulling Kyo towards him and threw his arms around the other male, hugging him tightly.

"I'm so happy to see you," he managed to choke, as he held onto the other boy.

ayame laughed as demetri tried to explain the circumstances under which he'd gotten to the school. it was a bit confusing, but ayame got the gist of it.

"haha, that's okay. i have a car. starbucks then?"

she smiled and reached out to take his hand, walking down the path toward the parking lot where her little ford taurus was waiting. she loved her little blue car. the license plate read 'bubblegirl'. it was childish, really, but ayame loved it.

kyoshi was taken entirely by surprise when ian hugged him suddenly, and his heart melted at what ian said. gently, he put his own arms around his friend, closing his eyes to stop the tears.

"i'm so happy to see you too, ian."

he leaned his head on ian's shoulder, letting the tears come. oh god how it had hurt thinking he'd never see the boy again. it was wonderful to be in ian's arms again, even if it was just as friends now.

Demetri immediately recognized her car by the liscence plate. The girl certainly liked bubbles. A smile came across the boy's face, although felt weird being in that car. Somehow, bubble girl liscence plate and soccer star Demetri seemed to contradict one another.

"Starbucks sounds good to me," he said, smiling, "I'm new around here, so I don't really know many places."
