Damien shrugged and took another bite, savoring the sweet candy. "I love chocolate.." he muttered mostly talking to himself. He turned and started walking backwards. "I'm gonna tell you something right now Ian, I'm very good at telling when someone isn't feeling good..no matter how good they are at hiding it.." He took another bite from his chocolate bar while he walked backwards slowly.

He sighed a little, so far he hadn't been having as much fun as he thought he would. But he was always willing to help someone, and he felt Ian was a little depressed. "I can definitely tell that your not normally this much of a downer are you?..What's got you down my cute friend?.."

I feel my world shake

"I don't know how to explain it," Ian mumbled, jamming his hands into his jean pockets, "Just a few thing on my mind today. You're right. I'm not usually this bad. I try to be really optimistic. It's just been hard lately."

His face twisted once more. He reached up and tugged on a piece of his bangs, twirling a part of it around his finger. Things hadn't been amazing lately. Tolerable, yes. Amazing, no. He couldn't explain why he had been thinking so much. Especially about those two previous loves. He had been doing a lot of self-reflecting lately, and they seemed to come up a lot. However, he knew he had to stop thinking about them if he wanted to keep his sanity.

koido nodded. he dully noted the way that the boy seemed to flirt with him a bit. at least, that was the impression koido had gleaned from the short conversation thus far. it was possible he was wrong, but that wasn't too likely. koido grinned slightly himself.

"yeah. it's damn near ecstasy at times."

he got the feeling that this boy was a fellow musician, so he stopped walking for a moment and took his bass off his back. squatting, he opened the case and lifted out the magnificent instrument. it was all black, except for a patch of white that shaped itself into a sharply-pointed teardrop that began in the lower corner. he closed the case and put it back on his back. hodling his bass now, he grinned.

"you a musician too?"

he dully played out a few notes on his bass, adjusting the tune as needed.

"Music is my life. Six instruments, and I'm a vocalist," he added, grinning due to the feeling of accomplishment that suddent rushed over him. It felt nice to meet somebody as interested in music as he was. The only other new person he had met was Kumori, and he was still peeved at Kumori for slamming the door on him. Of course, there were the returning regulars, but Zander liked mixing it up. He needed new faces.

ayame smiled. this boy, demetri he'd just said his name was, grew more and more intriguing with every question she asked him.

"psychology sounds fun, anthropology not so much. i started college right after i graduated; i'm 19 now."

she smiled at him, sideways still. one would think her position would be uncomfortable, especially with her knees jammed up as high as they were. this was because of her shoes; they had four inch heels. normal people would probably cringe, but ayame was completely used to her style.

Damien gave a small sigh, his appetite mysteriously vanishing on him. He decided to wrap up the chocolate and put it away for now. For some reason he was taking quite an interest in Ian. Damien could tell that the other wasn't going to go into detail about his problems. And he had every right not to tell Damien, they had just met. "Well Ian you seem you to be the kind of person who when they get into a certain shall we say funk, you tend to start thinking about the past..But I'm gonna tell you right now, the past is past..it's best to leave it alone and focus on whats going on around you now, in the present.."

He turned and started walking normally. He was done giving his philosophies for now, he hated when he had to be serious like this for long periods of time. "I'm not a therapist so don't expect me to be giving you pep talks like that all the time.."

He didn't realize it, but he was subconciously observing Ayame, making mental notes about her. It was a habit he developed long ago and was one of the reasons he was planning on becoming a psychologist. He enjoyed observing people and their behaviors. The human mind was a terribly fascinating thing.

Ian listened to what Damien had to say and felt the strong urge to reply with his own logic. He wanted to mention how the past was in the past, but it directly affected what happened in the present. For example, had he not left Lithium, he would have probably still been dating Kyoshi. Had he not left Single Digit, he may have still been with Sam, although he and Sam were never official. All these if he had not done this, then this would have happens were what Ian thought about the most, even though he knew it was a bad idea. But he couldn't but these thoughts into words that Damien would understand, so he decided once more to change the subject. He absentmindly pointed at a random couple, who were making out next to a fountain.

"Somebody's getting laid tonight," said the blond with a mischievious grin,

kumori smiled at being addressed as mori-san. he smiled wider when he saw the shirt. so hayate had designed it? sweetness.

"wow, that's a great shirt. oh me? i'm majoring in business management, only because my parents wouldn't let me go to beauty school to become a stylist. i want to run a hair salon. i designed my own hair."

he laughed at his own folly, and patted the ends of his hair. it was rather flouncy today, curled out at the ends. the blonde was rather sparkly under domestic lighting conditions.

"As for myself, I'm going to make clothes and sell them! But I also plan on being a graphic designer on the side, you know for like magazines and stuff!"

Damien raised an eyebrow at the boy's random change of subject. He looked over at the couple, the uncontrollable urge to shout at them taking over. "Hey! We have dorms for a reason!" He yelled in their direction. A laugh escaped his lips as he turned and started walking. Pissing off random people was a hobby of his. One that he love oh so much.

He turned to look at Ian, "You see, we were meant to have fun in life..even if it is at others expense every once in awhile.." He laughed a little as he walked slowly backward. He took a deep breath as he looked around, "Laughter is the spice of life little one.." Back when he was with his friends he often made subtle short jokes. And what he just said would have been considered one to them. This brought another small laugh from Damien's lips.

it took ayame a second to register what he'd said. then her face flushed, and she looked away and down, between her knees, at the steps. he was hitting on her, completely and totally. the strange part, to ayame that is, was that she liked him. even knowing him for just a few minutes, she felt an attraction to him. that was why she'd flushed.

"yeah.. i know what you mean."

to make it clearer that she was flirting back at him, she lifted her head for a moment and smiled flirtatiously at him before looking back down at the ground, fresh colour washing into her face. gathering some of her courage, she lifted her head back into its original position, the colour still on her cheeks. she didn't really believe in holding crushes, so she wasn't afraid to let him see.

kumori grinned.

"that's an excellent idea. i think i'll do that."

he stood up, taking about half of his hello kitty collection with him. he walked over to one of the dressers, and claimed it as his by setting his collection on top of hit. it took him two or three trips to get all of the small items over, and three or so more to get the rest of them. he spent a few minutes arranging them, then began unpacking his clothes into the drawers. he kept up some smalltalk while he did so.

"i think college'll be fun, especially with roommates. i looked into a lot of colleges that don't offer dorms. that's why i applied at this one."

Ian raised an eyebrow. For some reason, the dark-looking guy seemed like the last person that should be giving Ian advice about laughing and beinh happy. However, the other meant well, and Ian decided it best not to say anything he was thinking about. Instead, he walked past the couple that was connected by the lips. For a moment, he thought about what Damien had said.

"Wait a second, did you just call me 'little?'" he questioned turning and staring at Damien.

Demetri rose from his spot on the steps, turning and facing Ayame. His same flirtatious smirk remained on his face. He looked around once, observing everything before looking back at Ayame. There was something unique about this girl, besides the obvious. He liked it. He wanted to find out more about her.

"Say, I don't have much to do around here. I mean, I'm already unpacked and all," he began, reaching behind his head and scratching lightly, before letting his arm fall back to his side, "So I was think if you weren't busy or anything, maybe we could go get a drink or something?"
