I read the whole series; I was only paying attention to the sex scenes. Aside from that it was just... trite, cliche, and boring as all hell. It was clearly a Twilight fanfiction.

I'm just going to post my goodreads review on Fifty Shades here. I'm way too lazy at the moment to type out my feelings out about this book right now. But, I did like this book more than I did the Twilight books.

Okay, here it goes... It's very likely I'll get tons of s**t from my friends and other readers for it, but ******** it. I'm speaking my mind on this. I'm going to be one of the few three-star-reviewers. Now, before I get this puppy going, I'm going to put right out there that I do not like "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. I went in reading this book, full well knowing that it was supposed to have been at once a Twi fanfic. I am 100% aware of the similiarities in the book. What I didn't like about Twilight was the vampires sparkling, and the book having the makings of a crazy, stalker relationship. Why do I like 50 Shades? Well, at least it's honest about the stalker part. It doesn't try doting on the character about all of it all: from the get-go it makes clear that Christian Grey is a manipulative, over bearing, "control freak" with a sadistic streak.

That's cool. I can totally deal with that as long as its honest. I walk my own road down the BDSM path, so I knew totally what to look for. I'm not going to give anything away, but its kind of bdsm with its own twist. It's not what I've been used to knowing, but its enough to keep me intrigued. All of Christian's bad traits that have turned so many away? I don't even flinch at them. (Is it sad that I even kind of like it?) There's three books to this series so its got plenty of room to fix problems presenting itself in this first book. I thought I would hate this book and I was embarassed to be seen reading it, honestly. However, any book that I manage to read in just two sittings deserve credit where credit was do. It was no great literary masterpiece. I guess you could say it was "junk food". One hundred percent a pleasure read and a guilty one at that.

So, Ren, why three stars? The writing. I can never look at the word "flush" again. Absolutely hate it now. That word was used so many times that it was grinding on my nerves. Poor editting. There were a couple typos, only one that I really had to go back and look at. Basically, words got a little repetitive. And, and, and, Ren! Its just Twilight with the names changed. Yes and no. There are no sparkly vampires at this point. Leave the vampires out of it (I'm an Anne Rice fan...). It has similiarities, I saw. But this novel is based around two perfectly consenting adults and "normal society". As I said, Fifty Shades of Grey is just more honest in my opinion. 50 Shades of Grey knows its ******** it up, and like me, it doesn't really care. This is the point where I ask everyone and anyone to respect my opinion; I get why you hate it, I do. I understand everything that bothers you--it just so happens that I don't agree with either majority.

All in all (my english teacher hated that phase), my conclusion is this--It was an interesting read. A very guilty pleasure. I'll probably read the next two books. I didn't love or hate it. I liked it
