Due to the wonderful world of printed media piracy (which there actually isn't any protection for, and in this case I really don't care enough about Meyer to worry about taking money away from her) I've read both series. A week of Christopher Lee, Bela Lugosi, and Buffy The Vampire slayer later (because a part of me wants sexy AND defined characters) I actually realized something! Fifty Shades of Gray, despite being the same two-dimensional brain-vomit most fan-fictions are, is still better (to me) than the source material. Why?

Because holy s**t, I find this easy to fap to. It's like they took everything that made the original Twilight books good (I still can't find what that was) and then made it into something I can actually enjoy. I don't even care about the fact it's a blatant rip-off of a blatant rip-off of every vampire fanfiction out there (no, really. Vampire romance was cliche before it became all sparkly), because holy crap, BOOBS.

So... yeah! Figured I'd share that with every one.

"So... yeah! Just thought I would share that with everyone!

So... um... you just basically shared, "HI EVERYONE. I MASTURBATE!"

That's something to keep to yourself unless if everyone was talking about it in a mature fashion. It's like you just ran around Wal-Mart saying, "I LOVE PORN!"

You're ridiculous. Also, you smell like a troll who doesn't know we all hate Twilight. Most of the regs do, and I am one of them.

But, Twilight is better than 50 Shades simply because the author put more effort into it and bothered to re-write parts of it and actually did some editing, unlike E.L James.

But, both of the authors are stupid because they glorify abuse. Showing this to an abuse victim would be like, "See? What you went through was a sign of TRUE LOVE!" and that is disgusting.

I figured I'd at least try trolling the few people who did like the series... if they even exist anymore and haven't moved on to the hunger games... yeah, I should've thought this through.

And also, the only effort I saw with Twilight was coming up with a way to reiterate just what was happening long enough to make it into a really thick book. It's like that entire chapter Tolkien wasted describing Aragorn, only made into an entire book, and I actually regret reading the story.

Besides, the movies have porno-quality acting anyway.
So based on you ignoring Bel's comment about the abuse, you have no qualms masturbating to a rich guy tricking someone with the sexual maturity of a twelve-year old into a relationship.

And Bel, your comment made it sound like you think Wal-Mart is classy.

xD I don't shop at Wal Mart. I just said the first thing that popped into my head that was a place that everyone would recognize, and a place that is usually full of people.

I never said Twilight had enough effort behind it. It doesn't. I'm just saying, all E.L James did was replace the names in her wank fanfic fantasy that had no character development or plot and called it a book.

At least Stephanie Meyer tried to create something original, not that it was original or good at all. I hate those books, but I hate 50 Shades of Grey more because that author is an even bigger idiot. There are so many more Unfortunate Implications behind it than Twilight has. UIs are a sign that the author does not pay attention to social problems or even doesn't acknowledge them at all and they're racist, sexist and/or homophobic, which, in my view, makes them awful people, or they're not paying attention to what they're writing.

Just like every other kind of porn. Same quality of work, same unfortunate implications, same unrealistic characters.

No, there actually is well-written erotica out there. :/ Most of it is written by women. And any book can have such implications anyway.

For me, it really depends on the theme and again, character development. I still loathe both series; I'm just quick to point out that 50 Shades is just like most conventional porn, which, this being the internet, I'm pretty sure a lot of people enjoy anyway. Yet these same people get agitated by the series.

As far as being okay with it, in fiction, I'm fine with it. If it's consensual and healthy, in real life I'm fine with it. If it's a total disaster, and I'm speaking from experience now, I get the girl out of it.

But it's not consensual or healthy! D: I wouldn't want a boyfriend like Christian because he is abusive! Ana doesn't want to be hit. He does it anyway. He does things without her consent, which makes him a bad Dominant.

"I get the girl out of it." So you would love a submissive, naive woman who lacks any kind of education about sex?

Well, in the context of my sentence, I meant I, as the friend, step in and try to get the girl to stop dating the aforementioned douchebag. As far as loving someone like you described... again, not as okay with it irl. Although I'm sure there's a student/teacher role-play joke in there somewhere.

So you have this fantasy about saving Ana or something? Somehow, that makes you less of a douchebag. :/ You're still a little disturbing.

I suggest that you read this to grasp the more unsettling concepts in 50 Shades to understand why many of us hate it.

Are you talking about the antis or the fans here?

Everyone has a right to be here as long as they behave themselves. Currently, there is some 50 Shades idiocy here. Sorry about that.
