Nope, worse. Objectively it could be said that Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward, has some (if very few) attractive aspects. He's more attractive than the books, although I suppose that's really not saying much.

But that I'm jealous of that piece of s**t? I'm insulted. stare

Because her sister said she should. That makes sense.

The stuff for my college's Writing Bachelor's criteria is 90% writing based. Was Writing just the dump major at her college?

I've listened to the interview a couple of times. It's hard to pay attention to body language when you want to yell about the Rob effect being completely fake.

@PandorasJackinthebox
I think that's a troll, just a warning.
Probably. I heard the Utah College is mainly a real world EHarmony. Figures, since Utah is the Mormon capital and serious Mormons try to get married as fast as physically possible. Well, serious, slightly tipped Mormons, which I'm pretty sure flock to the school.

I'm also sorry for the quality. Why is everyone filming off TVs now?? I'm pretty sure that video maker filmed off her computer, though I'm sure she could have just copypasta'd the videos to her computer then reuploaded them.

Well, keep in mind that she was from a college for Mormons and the real reason to go was to find herself a husband, that's what that college was about.

Of course she went to the eHarmony of colleges.

As for filming off TV, I think that's laziness.

Brigham Young University, besides being shitty, isn't Christian--it's LDS (aka Mormon), which is RELATED to Christianity, but Catholics and Protestants want nothing to do with them.

Well, I have to say in respect for my girlfriend that LDS is different than Mormon. Less crazy. Similar beliefs, but better still. After studying different religions it actually makes a lot more sense than general Christians.

I'll be honest, this sort of thinking intrigues. It really is such a pity that the novels are so hated (haven't read them myself). The idea that vampires represent a sort of racist or elitist mindset is not new, but it has never been so stark. This is actually grounds for an excellent novel or story idea. I have never viewed Vampires as a direct link to such arguments. Most times, Vampires represent a sort of monster that melds itself within society and the age old "humanity losing its spot at the top" storyline.

To think that Vampires might be used to criticize or represent the separation of classes is a new thought to me and might make for an interesting idea.

I really think that the books Meyer wrote were supposed to be harmless. She wanted to express sensuality and perfection. Her books seem little better than fanfiction and I think that's why most get upset: appreciation and worship of mediocre work. Whatever offensive writing I'm sure was merely a by-product to her ignorance. I don't think she viewed whites better than blacks or really had thought the idea of how those of lower class might perceive the stories. I think she was just writing in her "la-la land" and just let her story take her where she felt was a good story.

I'm not defending her, I'm just saying that while her work isn't malicious in intent, I think pointing out what type of ideals the book promotes accidentally is important.

Excellent article.

Hey, hey, hey.

Let's not go slinging mud on religions now. I know a few Mormons and their nice guys. Do missionary work and all that and I only ever had to tell them I wasn't interested in their religion once and they never asked again. Not speaking for them as a group, but no reason to insult them as a group either.

Live and let live, am I right?

I'm just saying. Their beliefs are fragged up. Don't get me wrong, I've studied plenty of religions to be able to say how I feel about them and back those feelings up. JW/LDS seems to be the most understandable of the Christian groups, which makes me wonder how the heck Mormons spun off into this weird as hell story told by a young man who said god talked to him while he looked into a hat in a dark basement.

JW/LDS follow the Christian bible and update it constantly so there's no question on jumbled translation every few decades. They're almost modern day puritans in the way that they don't celebrate holidays, even birthdays, but they do acknowledge certain dates (like the day of the last supper) and they attend church accordingly. The only thing I don't like is that the Watchtower could easily be corrupted by anyone, seeing as they follow that word along with the bible.

Mormonism, considering their religious story, is a religion that takes full-on faith to follow unless you're just worshipping to follow the good code. That confuses me, though. If you're looking for a religion to follow just because it gives you good life rules to live by then why follow the one that until 1978 thought that black people were less than whites, and who only changed their views because of social and political pressure from the rest of the world, almost 20 years after segregation ended in our country? I'm over the whole multiple wives/husbands thing, it's just the rest of it that throws me into the wind.

Criticism like that is well deserved, I just hate to see people throw mud at other religions. I'm even a bit hesitant to admonish scientology only because it is positive on the most bottom rung. Not going to get into the alien bit though.

Anyway, as long as the criticism is for the religion itself and not at the choice people make for going that route. You get what I mean? You were fine, I was just worried it was getting into hater territory, but this is fine. xD I'ma shut my mouth now.
