In the West, it is very true.

It's just that, I found a playthrough for the game version and that made me interested in the show. Then again, playthrough > show > Twiseries
I live in the States, it's true here.

I don't know, to my mind good books>video games>TV>bad books, you know?

Here in the East, it's somewhat different.

Ah yes, I agree with you on that. Sadly, many TV shows and even some books are becoming mediocre. D:
Well, that explains the difference of views I suppose.

That one's because people are willing to settle for mediocre rather than demanding good or excellent.

Indeed, it does.

I am wondering why that's the case? If they wanted good books or TV shows, why then would they settle for mediocrity?
They settle because mediocrity is what is offered. For every Stephen King or J.K. Rowling there's dozens of midliners who aren't as popular but who write most of what's out there. They may not even be mediocre writers themselves, but they don't get the advertising so if they don't stand out in sales they get dropped by there publishers and replaced by someone new. The constant flow of new writers leads to more and more writers playing it safe and submitting stuff that's going to sell no matter how good it really is.

It's the same thing with TV and movies.

It has even spread here to the Far East and it saddens me greatly. D:

Bad economy and capitalism tend to mean that profit is more important than quality. Not that I dislike capitalism, but I do wish producers would worry more about quality and not just repeating a bunch of other shows.

Distributism? What is?

Distributism is a third-way economic system where the means of production are not in the hands of the state (socialism) nor under the hands of the few large corporations and certain private individuals (capitalism).

If not a corporation or private individuals or the gov, then who produces things? Someone has to own the factories and the delivery trucks and all the materials used.
I like twilight because it's a breath of fresh air. It's not your typical vampire-human love story. You dont offten come acrossed a glitering vampire. And Edward really isn't abusive, he's just overprotective, Bella IS a magnet for trouble. As Haunting said, it's ok to read a FICTION book and not analyse every singe thing. It's ok to read a 'silly' story for pure entertainment, not for facts. No one ever said the books were realistic, and theyr obviously not ment to be. I;m sorry you don;t like them, purly due to the fact that you'r over analysing everything, but thats your lost.

lol yes, really, and the book IS full of twist, for example, in Breaking Dawn, Bella has a kid with Edward, and Jacob falls inlove with Renesmee. I love the books personally, and im sorry you don;t like them, perhaps you prefer Vampire kisses? or the Fallen series?

Actually, I prefer nothing dealing with vampires anymore. My love of vampires vanished due to the fact every time I think of Lestat from Interview with the Vampire, I imagine him sparkling in the sunlight *shudders* The way vampires used to be just died with Twilight. I don't like how vampires are portrayed in Twilight. To me, I think Twilight is a waste of paper and time. There are many things so illogically wrong, I don't have the time to "analyze" every bit of it :/

Those aren't twists, those are a**-pulls. :I

Twilight will ALWAYS BE TERRIBLE
Actually, the concept is good, but has become overdone. As it stands, vampire/ supernatural romance has been a stronghold genre for a while. Christine Feehan, anyone? Thing is, Twilight had timing because of the rush to find "the next big young adult series."

Besides, I blame it on the execution and lack of research... and that she created two of the most selfish characters that I've seen and tried to read. Naturally, this is merely my opinion, though.
