I think there's definitely a lot of negativity surrounding twilight, and not all of it is unwarranted. It's not a perfect book by anyone's standards, but hey, neither are a lot of other books. Generally, I find that the criticism is mostly caused by the excessive fangirl-ism surrounding it. It's seen as the "cool" thing to do to be against it now, even if one hasn't read it.

Personally, I'd recommend people to actually read the book, and to state reasons why they dislike it, if they still do. Just saying TWILIGHT SUCKS in big red font does nothing for the conversation, and makes you look like an idiot. And hey, you might actually like it. If its this popular, don't you think it became this way for a reason?

Though the movie does suck. And this comes from a person who likes the book. The acting was horrible, and the plots were choppy.

I agree completely, except that i really loved the movie.
and im definately getting the dvd.

I'm not one of those epic Twilight haters, but the fangirls and random increase of vampire fans and/or vampire posers has certainly irked me.

I've heard HORRIBLE reviews on the movie, as well as quite a few bad reviews on the books series (mostly complaints of Mary-Sueism), though I can't really comment as I've neither seen nor read any part of the series. I do plan on reading the books when I have a great amount of time to waste (summertime perhaps?) on a book that might possibly make me cringe, though from what I've been told, I might actually enjoy the characters of Alice and Jasper, ^^

Anyway, I'm sure the rapid fangirls thank you for this, Gaia, ^^ I'm neutral, :3

I am superbly appalled at the lack of intelligence being shown in this thread. It was simply made for you to share your moments about the movie and okay, if you liked it that's awesome and if you didn't then that's fine too. What I don't get is why, people are here constantly complaining and bitching a MOVIE/BOOK over the INTERNET. What is it that you hope to accomplish by doing this? Do you feel some sense of Superiority by doing this? Okay, some people don't like and some people do, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to those who think that Stephenie Meyer or however the hell you spell her name has no imagination then my question to you is. Do you really think she cares? She's making millions and what you as one insignificant person thinks doesn't matter and won't affect her in any way whatsoever!!

And to clarify this, by changing what the so 'cliched' thinking of a vampire (yes that whole sparkle sparkle bullshit) does show that she thinks outside of the box. It would be an awfully dull thing if the Cullens turned to ash and frankly, I'm tired of the whole, buffy/blade/van helsing, dracula s**t where the vampire's can't come out daylight, Further more, Vampires are ******** myths, who cares what anyone writes about them. . all I can say is THANK YOU stephanie for breaking the bonds of normality!! The movie was horrible, no, horribible in my opion, disastrous even, but i like the books. It's a good read and if you don't like then hey, don't read it, read some gaudy, bloody, nonsense if that's how you feel. DOn't ruin it for others.
