What doesn't belong in TVA?

exclaim "What's your favorite anime?" Covered in this sticky.

exclaim "Who is your favorite character?" Covered in this sticky.

exclaim "Who is your favorite character in [show]?" These are essentially popularity contests and belong in the chatterbox.

exclaim "Has anyone seen [show]?" Yes. Most likely anything that's been aired on basic stations has been seen by at least one other person. Come up with a better topic.

exclaim "Do you like/hate [show]?" Again, essentially a poll, also known as spam and belongs in the chatterbox.

exclaim Anything about a show that is only on movie, DVD or aired on some special cable channel. (Exception - movies about shows that air on basic TV stations. Inuyasha Movies, Naruto Movie, FMA Movie, etc.)

It has come to our attention that there have been several cases where people are flaming threads due to it being a repeat thread and also trying to enforce others to use these so called "Official" threads.

In the Anime/Manga/Comics Guideline, it clearly states that:

Regarding "Official" Threads: We'd like to stress the fact that outside of the stickies, and the threads highlighted within the stickies (should there be any) there are no "Official" threads in Anime/Manga/Comics. All threads that bare the title "Official" and are not mentioned in said stickies, or a sticky themselves, are nothing more then user created threads, ones which are equally redundant as the topics without the "official" indicator.

Why do we feel the need to make this clear? Because it has come to our attention that there is an inordinate amount of abuse and harassment occurring in which "Official" thread supporters will attack their fellow users simply because they decided to create their own thread and not post in a pre-existing one.

Yes, it is fact that we encourage users to look before they post, to try and post in an existing thread instead of making their own, but we do not restrict them that right. Everybody and anybody is welcome to create their own thread, and everybody is equally likely to find that thread moved, binned, boxed, or deleted if it's found to be redundant, unwanted, or pointless.

Simply because your topic has existed for longer does not mean it is any more valid then a new topic. Simply because your topic is bigger does not make it official. Simply because you have more users posting in your thread willing to spam and muscle around does not mean you are right.

Should you decide to ignore this and go about attacking your fellow users because they decided that they did not like your endorsed thread for whatever reasons then you will find yourself facing a warning, maybe a ban, and maybe even finding the "official" thread you plug binned.

This rule also applies to TV Anime. Yes, there are certain topics where it is completely redundant. HOWEVER, it does NOT give any person the right to simply flame others, simply because they made a repeat topic. It's not spam per se, as they are talking about an anime related topic. Telling them it's spam, is spam itself, and will not be tolerated. This also includes picto-flaming. One of the more popular techniques in telling other users that their thread is spam, is posting a picture, from posting a picture where it says spam to calling the thread creator a n00b to pointing out a specific thread/forum. These are NOT allowed. They are flamebait, spam, and will get you warned and banned. If you see picto-flaming, you may report it via the "Report Post" button.

If a thread is misplaced, a repeat thread, etc, PLEASE report them. There are a few ways to report threads. You can use the Report System or you can PM an online moderator.

We ask that when reporting repeat threads, to only report threads that are very redundant (such as threads that have been made 5-10 times each day). We do allow repeat threads to stay in TV Anime as some topics are not as redundant as others.
