Does 4Kids screw every anime up on purpose?

I used to hate their dubs when I was younger, but now I more or less understand why they edit series they air on television. It's to meet FCC guidelines for children's programming. However, they do have some of their anime uncut for streaming on Hulu (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's for instance, which is a fairly decent sub). Unfortunately the original Yu-Gi-Oh! is left out, because of some legal issues dealing with Yugi's Japanese voice actor. :/

I have a soft spot for their Shaman King dub. It seems that even with the edits and changes they made to it they still kept a lot of things intact and it's a pretty fun dub. Given the theme of the show they could not actually remove death without well making it a completely different show. They also kept in quite a bit of bood since Shaman King often used "black blood" even in the original.

Plus I love how they altered the setting of the world so it takes place in what seems like a post Apocalyptic world. I'm not joking, they never call the country the characters are living by name, though Yoh and others exist on what was ONCE Japan in flashback episodes thanks to 4kids editing it's never called Japan in the present. Also thanks to 4kids Editing America was turned into a "great desert" so yeah they changed Shaman King's setting to post Apocalyptic probably with out meaning to.

Speaking of 4kids edits making things worse in the show. For Ren and Jun, 4kids turned Yúan (called En) into their uncle rather then being their father. Yet 4kids did not change that he was abusive to Ren, physicality abusive, and since he was "like a father" was still an abusive parent. Also there was a throwaway line where he says he killed Ren's father. Yeah the same 4kids who goes out of the way to avoid death created a new character for a show (That is never seen) simply to kill him.

Pokemon: it was great untill the other season came and it went downhill ( oh yes! Those are defintely doughnuts!XD)
Yu-Gi-Oh!: some if the voices were okay, but dou you really have give some of the characters accents? ಠ_ಠ

I can see why they censor stuff but apparently they are to stupid to see that it ruins the entire show because when they change or remove stuff it makes no freaking sense anymore
