Does 4Kids screw every anime up on purpose?

I found that almost every anime that is aired on 4Kids is either lame or just totally screwed from its original form. But when people see it in Japanese, its version is way better (as in real-life situations, a little more violence, etc). So I was thinking does 4Kids do this on purpose to screw the anime up? I mean, yeah there might be a few cuss words, but that doesn't mean it is unsuitable for kids to watch. Most anime is geared toward the teenage age group, so there will obviously be some things that are taboo for little kids. That's my train of though I just want to know what other people think and their opinions

They do make those changes on purpose but their goal is nor to "screw up the show" it's just to make it ok for kids. 4kids just does not know what they are doing and they go over board.

Oh and I wish people would shut up about 4kids, they don't even dub any *important* anime anymore.

Most hates 4kids. They censor everything like guns, bad words, and fanservice. But dubbed anime and subbed is pretty good. And no, they didn't put anime on Purpose. They put it up so kids could see it in a kittish form.

4Kids takes anime that is aimed at preteens to young teens in Japan and then alters them so that according to US TV standards they're suited for the same audience in America. they're not the devil, they even tried releasing uncut DVDs in the past (but the sales were sub-par so that stopped), and they have listened to the fans in the past (that's why their dub of Tokyo Mew Mew was called Mew Mew Power, because they initially announced it would be called Hollywood Mew Mew and the fans let them know they were PISSED at that). the thing is, they're more a kids media company than an anime company, so they're more concerned with making a product kids would watch and love and their parents wouldn't mind them watching than pleasing all the die hard anime fans who would rather boycott anything with their name attached to it than support them when they do try to appease them.

4kids keeps trying to release their anime uncut but every time they do they do it the wrong way. First those uncut DVDs had a horrible dub script, which sounded unnatural spoken in English. The voice acting was some how worse then the edited dub. Also the DVDs sold poorly and died quickly.

Then they decided to release uncut versions of their anime online on You tube, the problem here was that 4kids "idea" of uncut was japanese raw with NO English subtitles. 4kids response "Arn't subtitles edits?"

And now 4kids is planning to make a new Website that airs the uncut versions of their dubbed anime. How will they blow it here? How will they troll people with uncut anime this time?

4kids are the second biggest trolls in the anime industry. they would be the biggest but Tite Kubo exists.

I just think 4Kids has no talent editing and dubbing anime. If you suck at something you only have two options.
1. Get better

2. Quit

i personally thought pokemon was ok(then again, i never saw the orighinal), until the present shows now. it seems that they cencor it for the little guys. i'd be fine with this if they also aired the originals somewhere else.

crying . What they did to Yugioh was just plain sad.

Originally the "Shadow Realm" did exist but not in the same way. In the original there were only a few condemed to the Shadow Realm. Most of the time they just died.

Bakura, Yami Yugi, and Marik were all much scarier. Bakura and Marik were not treated as generic bad guys in the original like in the English version aired on 4kids.

Marik's back story was completely cut to shreds saying he just wanted to go outside...wah wah. In the original he was a scared little boy who didn't want a very large tatoo to be carved into his back with a knife in a tombkeeper's ritual. This is what caused Marik to go crazy and have a second personality.

Then you have Bakura. Poor Bakura. His entire family was killed to make the Millenium items. D: He heard that it was the Pharaoh who ordered the massacre of his entire family. That is why Bakura hates Yami Yugi so much. In the English version I don't think they even went into it.

Yami kills people. Considering he possesses such a nice innocent boy, that is scary. Yami has no issue killing people. "Mind Crush" was not just the shadow realm... it was he made people go flippen mad for the rest of their lives.

Seto... kills his dad. His dad didn't commit suicide!!! He killed his adoptive dad because he was being abused. That is why Seto owns the company.

And the Millenium Rod, has a dagger inside it...

Do you know why Ryou came to Japan? He came to Japan because he noticed people he cared about starting to disappear whenever he blacked out. Yeah, Bakura was killing off all of poor little Ryou's friends. O.O;

I don't know why 4kids picked it up other than that their is a card game. Funny thing is, the original series was not even about the card game. u.u

The DVDs, I remember, did sell decently. They were canceled because 4Kids refused to share the profits with FUNimation, who distributed the DVDs for them.

I do not think they would screw them up. They were at least made it good for kids. I'll give them that.

4Kids was never good at dubbing OR subbing any anime for that matter. They always go overboard and they sell things that they know won't sell in the market. For all I know, sometimes 4kids doesn't even plot the storyline correctly, like Yu Gi Oh. (I share your pain, the card game plot line isn't even really part of the story TT^TT) Didn't 4Kids dub Pokemon too? Every single episode I ever watched revolved around the PokeBalls and the chaacters battling those wierdos that fly in the hot air balloon and stalking them =3= Sometimes I wish Americans can get out of their fantasies and live in the real world...

Yugioh! 4kids vison- tedious... They just talk about there moves and never really make them...

So yes 4Kids is like the death of anime. stare It's a bit sad what kids and young teens are being subjected to.

They tend to censor things that don't even need censoring. Like in Poke'mon Riceballs are donuts, and in One Piece black people are turned white.

Is Dragonball Kai dubbed by 4kids while I'm thinking about it?
