I believe that people shouldn't waste their money for things that are not worth.
Like, if you're buying a toy or something don't buy an imitation or a cheap but ugly one. You know what I mean?! |

Yes and no. People should spend money on things they feel are a good investment. There are people out there that like fake/low quality items (some people like fixing things up, you see).

To clarify what I meant, collecting something, regardless of your reasons, is an investment. Not necessary an investment you intent to eventually cash in on, but an investment none the less. You have to realize, collecting ANYTHING costs money and unless you are a millionaire, you're going to want to be very careful about what you choose to blow money on.
The concept of a collection is that you'll amass a large amount of something for your own enjoyment and, possibly, a return of some kind. |

Not to mention, sometimes the knockoffs become rare, thus they ultimately become collectibles as well. Star Wars bootleg items are an example of that.

Another good example: Fake Pokemon cards. There ended up being so many of them, collectors started to seek them out. |

Ugly fake toys are fun. Purely because of how hideouse they are when compared to the real thing xd Some of the fake pokemon toys are a scream, blobby legged Nurse Joy figs are really funny. The mislabling on packaging, in all it engrishy glory only adds to the charm. Fake Transformers have really random names, and its fun identifying the "real" transformer the all-one-colour lump of poseable plastic is supposed to be. mrgreen

I used to collect bags. Like, from shopping. I had Torrid, Victoria's Secret, Target, etc.
