I think the main reason hasblow canceled the first was...It was too complex for the kids. I mean c'mon, I handled the ROTF and DOTM line, they're twice as hard as from what I've seen in the reviews...

I question their motives. They released the figures in Asia and Canada, but screwed the US over (as well as Europe, but that seems rather typical of them). Just comes across as a complete screw up in the marketing department. They released a statement a few days ago (and emailed everyone who send them a complaint) saying they never intended to sell them in the US anyway and stores only got the pre-orders because of a glitch in their systems.

I sometimes wonder if there are monkey's running the place -__- Who makes a toy and doesn't release it in their native country? Especially when there is a high demand for them.

Oh right, forgot. its the retailers and any other stores that sell their product are the ones man handling the power.

they can't order them if Hasbro doesn't offer them up for sale. So who knows who the true screw up is in this case, but someone I doubt it was Toys R Us, though they are known for being morons themselves.

The 3 figures they did release in the state though sold pretty well... with the exception of Bumblebee because they ordered 5 billion of them. You'd think they'd eventually take the hint that they need to order fewer of him after he sits on their shelves, never leaving, even when on sale, after 3 movie lines :/ Starscream and Arcee sold out really very quickly, both in store and on their website.

more news on that actually, the big and important Toy Fair is going on in NYC this weekend and Hasbro admited to having been the one who screwed up the 1st edition line. It wasn't the retailers.

So my thoughts were right. lmao. They claim they're going to see about releasing them later, but... it's Hasbro. I won't believe 'em until I see the actual products

So the whole, too complicated for kids, was a farce... ******** Hasbro, why would you lose your profit making new molds for shitty figures when the first line was a decent success. I hate the RID figures with a passion mad

Dear Hasblow.

******** you. I just wanted those first edition prime figures.

lmao. I know the feeling. I sent a rather scathing email to them, not that it mattered I'm sure.

Ended up giving Takara-Tomy my money so I could get Cliffjumper and Bulkhead.

Their loss. Because I had to spend a crud load more money to get the Japanese versions I have far less money to give Hasbro.

Wait so Takara, continues with the first edition? or are they gonna end up shafting them for the RiD figures designs?

Oh and did you pay with the minicon offer?

Yep. Me too. After I said SO MUCH I wanted Optimus,Bulkhead, and probably the whole lot Hasbro goes and CANCELS THE DAMN LINE. And RiD Optimus isn't as good as first edition. I don't think I'll go for the Takra Tomy versions mostly because Hasbro might repackage the line or first edition may start appearing in discount stores. So y'know I'll sit in my corner and be hopeful.

Hasblow here, We decided to ******** over the people who wanted to complete their DOTM wreckers, and a few deluxes some movie fans wanted. Cheer up, were making shittier figures to replace our old good figures. So please throw us your money.

Sure! I'll throw you my money for a PS3... wait, you don't make that. Oh well. Sucks for you razz

I'm more than a little burnt out with the movie figures but I did really want deluxe Leadfoot so I could have a complete Wrecker crew crying I know I can get the Human Alliance one but I hate that design :/ So hallow and it's way too big in comparison to the deluxe Wreckers I have.

Lame-sauce!

And most of the figures in the Prime line aren't interesting me. I think this will be the first line I go small. I usually dislike the tiny figures but they are impressing me far more than the big guys this time around.

Oh well. Guess I should be thanking Hasbro for saving me money. I'll actually be able to buy things that would normally be put on hold because of my passion for Transformers.

I can only hope that they release the First Edition toys again at a later date. I really want Starscream, he looked absolutely amazing. It was just my luck that those figures were never at Toys R Us in my area. Always sold out on their website, too. DX I don't live in a city, and I also don't have the funds to shell out like 40 dollars just to get Starscream on Ebay/Amazon.

In all honestly I don't exactly hate the Robots in Disguise figures as much as the next guy.... Soundwave, Ratchet, Wheeljack, and the Vehicon all look pretty great in my opinion. Though to be fair I think I'm not as sour towards the RID figures because my case is a little along the lines of "Beggers can't be choosers." I still think I'm lucky that I got a few the RID toys in early in February. Though I'd have to wait until like March to even see any of them in stores.
I used to have a huge shelf full of them, but then I had to pack them all in a box in preparation for a move that never happened...I still miss them. I'll have to dig them out sometime.

Dunno if you follow the Siebertron forums, but in case you don't:

There's a theory Hasbro will re-release the First Editions in the Generations line because they promised 40 toys in the line before the end of 2013. But Hasbro's promises are about as trust worthy a pack of hungry hyena's. 40 figures is a lot though and there are a good handful of figures in the 1st Editions, so putting them in there would make life easier for them.

There's also speculation the final wave of DOTM (Que, Leadfoot, Human Alliance Soundwave, etc), which were canceled in the US and are slated only for release in Asia, might find their way into the Generations line as well.

There's a lot of heat on the RID line because they're sub-par to the 1st editions (in most cases - Arcee is kind of a mixed bag). It was a mistake for Hasbro to release them before the mainline. Terrible marketing! It doesn't take genius to know you have to be tactful in the marketplace, which makes me think the company is run by a group of monkey's. If you know you have a series of kick-butt toys, you wait. Put the crummier ones out first because people will want to get a figure for their favorite characters, then put the better ones out after. Many people, especially parents, don't want to buy duplicate characters, but if you produce a figure that is absolutely superior to the ones already out, people will be willing to buy them. There will be grumbling about having purchased the lesser toys but that's the life of a parent and toy collector. You never know what the future holds (for better or worse). Doing the reverse of this only pisses people off and wards them away from making the purchases.

XD Hyenas.... Any reason why those DOTM figures were cancelled here in the U.S?

And no, I don't really follow the forums there at all, ^^; Thanks for the info. But really I do hope they get released some time in the future. And doing a bit of picure comparison I can see the difference between a lot of the toys in FE and RID. RID Bulkhead looks just awful compared to FE. Poor guy got demoted... RID Cliffjumper looks awkward, too. You're right about Arcee, some stuff on one figure looks better than the other and vice versa. RID Optimus got the boot, too.... thirty dollar figure and the rest of his chest isn't even completely painted red. >> Though that could be remedied with some paint or a red sharpie, I still shouldn't have to do my own custom touch-up work on a figure that expensive. ><

Hasbro claims it's due to lack of interest from the retail stores here. Even if that is true, Hasbro should have released them before Christmas, not attempted to do so after New Years when a new line is due out. There really wasn't any excuse to hold them off considering they had been showing them off from October.

I wish I had jumped on the Takara Prime sooner, but I missed that boat sad Oh well. Here's to hoping he shows up later. I saw the PRID version in Toys R Us last week but I thought the cost was akin to highway robbery. I'm waiting for Target or Walmart to get the figures before I decide whether I want to buy him or not.

I'm mostly waiting on news about the playsets. The energon drill looks so cool <3 ((Seibertron's little entry on it, in case you haven't seen it )). I just don't want to buy the tiny guys if Hasbro is going to pull the same p***k move they have been and cancel it in the US :/ Most of my collection is deluxe and voyager size and as much as a I like the mini figures in the RID line, if I can't have the playsets I don't want to spend the money on them.

I too wish Hasbro would give more love to their products :/ I'd be willing to pay a few extra dollars if they'd paint them up nicely and didn't get all cheap-a** about paint/dye colors. Honestly, how much would is cost per figure to make them look nicer? I think it comes down to the same thing as the soda companies. They save 1 cent per can of soda when they use corn syrup over real sugar -__- Yes, they make millions of cans a year but seriously, I'll pay a little more to have real sugar over corn syrup. The soda companies have caught onto this though (unlike toy companies) and are cashing in on using real sugar. Yes, that has to do with the food industry and the move to be more natural, but I think most people would be willing to pay an extra few bucks to have really good paint apps on their toys. Instead we're kinda getting the opposite. Hasbro is working to keep the figures at their current prices, but the paint jobs are getting sucky and the toys are getting smaller (oh shirking RID figures, what doth be wrong with thou)
