Sooo, I need to qq a little. lol I was with my dad and cousin all this week at the camper and can I say my back is killing me? I just got back home and I have to say that I missed my room so very much and my desktop. I wanted to throw my laptop out the window since it's soooo weak compared to my other machine.
Rinnie and Malaren couldn't come with me since we didn't take my truck and my dad's truck is a single cab. I had to carry two bird cages with me already so adding more would've probably drove me up a wall. sweatdrop
On the upside I got to write a lot and Malaren's character kind of...evolved? All I have to say is "I have even more of a crush on my bf". whee I ended up modeling the two personalities after portions of his and once he becomes one they'll mix perfectly. That probably made no sense, but it did in my head!
Anyways, I'm so super glad to be back home. 3nodding

so guys, lemme tell you a little story.
i was chatting with a friend of mine who i introduced into BJDs yesterday, and she informed me that she had purchased another doll (was waiting on it in the mail). she went on to tell me that she would have prefered to get another boy like Lixel (her first, Volks Dollfie EB-C), but since they were sold out, she got a girl she's naming Hashu.
as soon as i heard the words "sold out" i was like 'WUT.'
so i ran (well, net surfed) off to check, and sadly she was correct, they are now sold out of 2/3 of the EB male dolls, including the mini, which was going to be my next purchase for dolls.
after the initial period of "NOOOOOOOOOOO" i began scouring the internet, and after half an hour, i re-found The Junky Spot (i get the feeling people here know of it), where i found the exact height and gender of doll i was looking for, only Obitsu (which idc since they're basically the same thing anyway). only difference is that this one doesn't come with a head.
i'll ask this thread three things: one, are there any Obitsu owners out there? another friend of mine had one but i haven't talked to her in a couple months; two, if so, do you know the difference between the white and flesh skintones; three, is buying the one with magnets in the feet really worth it? what's the difference, really?
for reference, this is the one i was planning on getting (Male Obitsu 23cm, Fleshtone, No Magnets)

how is everyone, btw? well, i hope. dunno what's been going on with you guys recently, but today i'm planning on making some more furniture for my dolls. if i can find the cord to my camera, i'll try to remember to upload some pics. :3

also, sorry for being so patchy in this thread. it moves so fast, and lately life has been anything but peaceful. (thankfully it's slowing down a bit.)

@ Bishie - Yes he is, they are huge. She said it was like lugging around a 2 year old which I dont doubt which is why Lu my 65cm is the biggest I have.

@Tora and Finlet - I'm not saying that I approve of it, but if you read some of the photostories on DoA isn't not far off of basically softcore porn. I'm sure there's people who do worse out there. What is it, Rule 34 or something? If you can think it up, there's a website already dedicated to the fetish somewhere.

Personally, I find porn boring more than anything else. Sure I'd dress a doll up in a sexy outfit, but I'm not gonna do anything horrible like that. I just didn't wanna get all defensive about the hobby when I know it would kind of be lying.

@Ciel - You're talking to the person who's considering buying the Dragon Doll Uncle body, which comes with detachable bits anyway. Considering all three parts will probably end up tucked safely in a drawer... it's not like I give a hoot about it. I'd rather try to convince them to keep them and give me a discount on a pair of jointed hands but somehow I don't think that's gonna happen.

I do recall seeing someone on DeviantArt that had a photo collage of a customized doll they did to look like Jack Sparrow, and they had the bits all blushed up realistically and said "I'm glad I remembered my anatomy classes from high school!" Which seemed like an odd comment to me, since it was a guy anyway o_O;;

So anyway, off that discussion... I finally did it. I'm moving into a new tool box. I... I believe I shall still have room to spare. But I'm a little scared that I may have still underestimated my needs.

I can understand going from full artistic and all, and if I ever do photostories (I'm not sure that angle appeals to me) they probably won't contain much more than what you're saying, if at all (I can see snuggling if she's dressed like Amalthea and he's dressed like Prince Lear, but if they're doing a Keats and Ellen Folklore cosplay there'd be NONE of that nonsense.)
