For no apparent reason, I've become interested in tamagotchis again. However I'm a bit behind on what features are included in the latest versions (I've only owned the first version of the connection series). I've been debating about buying either a 4.5, 6, or the tamago. Since I haven't had a newer version, I'm a bit unaware about their capabilities.

So here are my main questions:

Can v4.5 connect to the current online site?
Can you raise a tamagotchi normally in v6? (Can you find it a mate and start a new generation or is it strictly just raising a band?)
Which version would you recommend?
