If he likes soda so much, then try some flavored sparkling water, like Sparkling ICE or Clear American. Both are pretty good, and the flavor may make him forget he's drinking water.

I'd be careful with stuff like Crystal Light and Mio. Sure they make water taste better, but I'm not all that sure on how healthy they are chemically. Too much aspertame is really bad for you.
