Bashful Guildswoman

Anyone got any tips? I'm on week 2 now of not smoking and a lot of people who I've spoken to said that after the first week, it's easy to quit. It reeeeaaaaally hasn't been the case for me xD It's been a bit of a pain, and was just wondering if anyone has any tips ^^

- I don't use patches because they give me nightmares for some reason o-o
- I try to use gum but it's not really working how I'd like
- E-cigarettes are a little too expensive in terms of refills for me

I know that list makes it sound like I'm being a little stubborn ^^;;

Just keep going and believe in yourself. Or if that doesn't work. You can try a scared tactic to put you on the right path. Look up tracheotomy and smoking. I work in a nursing home. I see people with tubes through their necks all the damn time. It's not a pretty sight.

Thank for the advice man! I know how horrible they are, my Granda was a pretty heavy smoker and he ended up having to have a tube fitted. I never thought about using that sort of thing as means of motivation... Thanks man ^-^

Try putting something in your mouth when you have to pull a trigger in between your smoking times.

not to sound weird.

try buying lollipops or find something else you can do, maybe some type of candy?

Yeah it's been a while since I smoked actually ^^ I put on a little weight doing it actually, though it meant I stopped smoking so I'm happy ^^

I've been an on and off smoker since I was sixteen.
I just quit again recently. (I'm twenty two by the way)

The first week is the hardest cause your body is craving the nicotine.
I always do it cold turkey, if you just cut it out all together the cravings don't last as long.

It take will power though.

What helps me is picturing myself in a hospital bed, dying painfully of lung cancer like my grandma.
Thankfully she pulled through and didn't die but still smoking gave her cancer.
Do you want to die like that?
Do you want your lungs to look like swiss cheese?
Do you want to constantly stink and have yellow teeth?
Do you want to have to blow money constantly for a stupid habit?

Just start thinking like that when you get a craving.

ah yeah, e-cigs can be expencive to refill.
actually they are here too.
but i have a friend in SC that can get them for like 5$
instead of like 8 or 10 here.
What about ordering the juices online?

I was on the e-cig for like 3 months and didnt pick up a single cig.
but then my battery died one day and i was nikking so i picked up a ciggerette and went back.

Actually, i dont believe that after a week of no smoking all cravings go away.
I believe i stopped for a week before and even though it made ciggerettes taste bad when i tried it again. the nicotine is what my body really wanted.
also when getting mad & listening to music i always had the craving.

I hear that even after a year of smoking that from time to time youll have a craving.
Just have to stay strong.
