I think the paintings were just foreshadowing and nothing more. Doubt there is any connection unless Mary was part of the family in that house with the paintings. That's unlikely, though.

yah thats what i thought too when my friend first showed me. that the sweaters look a lot different.

the girl in that painting was like an exact portrait of mary though. same hairstyle same facial features.
