I guess, between Gale and Peeta, I liked Peeta better. Peeta was never anything but nice to Katniss, whereas Gale started off not liking Katniss and became friends out of necessity/mutual benefit.

Gale would not have died for Katniss; he proved that when he didn't volunteer for Peeta's spot so he could protect Katniss. Peeta was happy to die for her.

To be honest, though, I was disappointed that Peeta didn't turn out to be a very cunning b*****d. I read it in the hopes he was going to to wind up having been evil all along (his sudden lashing out at Haymitch on the train certainly alluded to it).

I thought that Cato and... his girlfriend, the one with knives, was interesting. I would have liked to see more of their relationship; gave Cato a side to him that made him slightly more dynamic than the standard-fare villain.

Peeta, I mean if it wasn't for what happened with Prim and all, Gale.
I feel Peeta and Katniss were forced together in a way. Haymitch, the Games, but over all Peeta does love Katniss truly and Katniss grew to love Peeta. Katniss already sorta liked Gale a bit already. But overall... Peeta. Gale hardly develops throughout the whole entire book.

I agree with the "no teams" thing. Sick of seeing people turn The Hunger Games into the next Twilight .

As for the question... I love Peeta and all but I'm more of a Gale person. Always had a soft spot for him throughout the series since Katniss gradually learned to love Peeta.
