I can't imagine Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. She looks nothing like what I imagined while reading the books, but I honestly didn't have anyone else in mind.

Same here. I think she's a bit too cute, but then again I haven't seen any of her movies, so I just hope she's a good actor.

Also, I wonder if the movie will be rated PG-13 or rated R. Its supposed to be for teens, but theirs lot of violence so I wonder what they'll do.

Jennifer Lawrence was excellent in Winter's Bone and did a lot with sparse dialogue. Fans should be grateful someone that good has signed on.

Well, Jennifer Lawrence wasn't exactly everyone's first choice as Katniss, but I'm sure they'll warm up to it sooner or later. wink

People were whining when Heath Ledger was first announced as the Joker. I'm rooting for Jennifer to blow us away.

I don't think I quite gotten over Cirque Du Freak, through. His acting in that was god-awful and annoying.

I'm perfectly fine with Jennifer Lawrence. At least, she can act.

Ugh. I'm so upset with the AGES. I think Josh is a fine actor. He's just going to look like a little kid next to Jennifer and Liam, who are both in their twenties. He doesn't look the part at all either. Now, I'm aware of hair dye, contacts, the like, but his face just does NOT fit my description for Peeta. I picture Peeta with a cuter face, less of a square jaw...more of what Hunter Parrish has. Blah. I'm just bitching. I'm not sure if I care about all this anymore.

I refuse to believe wooden as a tree stump Liam Hemsworth was the best Gale they could find in of all young Hollywood. Did his brother Chris, star of Thor which is also produced by Lionsgate, bribe the execs?

It's Hunter Parrish who was the overwhelming fan favorite for Peeta. People were also ok with Lucas Till(dude from the Taylor Swift video).
They would have looked appropriate next to Jennifer. Josh is gonna look like Jennifer's son.

There were so many better choices for Peeta. Josh Hutcherson is nothing like him. I don't even know if he could encompass the character with his acting skills. Not saying he's a bad actor, it's just that his personality doesn't seem like that of Peeta. I saw the link you posted about the actors who auditioned for Peeta, and any of them, except Josh, seems like they would have been fine for the role.

I don't know anything about Liam, but he doesn't look like Gale at all. It seems like they're having a problem choosing people who actually look like the character they're supposed to be playing. I can't say much else about him though, since I've never seen him act.

They'll probably cover that up with dye and some make up so they could at least stay true to some of the physical details in the book. But It probably won't look good on Josh's part, cuz y'know, he's looks terrible as a blonde if you can picture him.

Even through, I also despise these casting choices for Gale and Peeta, I have to at least save my full opinion til I see the movie. AT LEAST.
So Gary Ross, I hope you know what you're doing, man.
