Novels were way better, no question. But aren't they always? And you have to give credit to the movie, they stll fit most of the main details into it with it already being a 2 and a half hour movie.

ugh. isn't it obvious? Books or novels are always better than the movies. Probably because the movie cannot really contain everything that was written in the book unless you want it to be 3-day-movie. IF YOU GET WHAT I MEAN mrgreen

Books are always better than movies, rarely is it the other way around.
I do think that they could have added some backstory prior to Katiniss' entrance on the arena, her family and everyday life.
The movie in itself isn't too bad, though everything seemed watered down.
