Well, as the story goes further, it becomes more boring, in my opinion.

Yep, just about right. Mockingjay was effing terrible. The series started out good, and took a hard left turn into crap at about the time of the first plot-relevant death. After that, it seemed like Katniss was either absent or unconscious any time something important happened. So many scenes were "... and then I blacked out. I woke up later and [Person] filled me in on what happened." This is not good storytelling. Katniss stopped being relevant to the plot about halfway through Catching Fire, where everything got out of her control or influence. She wasn't a particularly interesting character either. She's about as charismatic as the potato she's named after.

But of course, the fangirls don't care about plot or character development. They just want contrived love triangles that don't fit into the setting.

We do have choices.

I've read the first two books and enjoyed them, though the second one didn't quite keep my interest as much as the first one. The whole Games in the second book didn't seem as threatening or as real as they did in the first volume, and they ended in a blink. I seriously had to reread the end to the Games because it was over so abruptly.

I was hoping the third book would catch me up again, but from what I understand just from the last couple of posts in this thread, it doesn't sound too promising. :/

But yeah, major love for that first book!
