The new cast will not be announced until December so i highly doubt the rumors are true. I also think is very unlikely.

If Robert Pattinson wants to prove himself as a serious actor he is going to stay away from the Finnick role as much as possible. I don't see him doing any teen movies for a while and definitely not a series of movies.

People have to remember that even though the Finnick role is important its to small for an expensive actor, in other words Finnick will not be played by an A list or popular actor, more likely it will be an upcoming or unknown actor.

Just to put it in perspective:

Robert Pattinson got paid 25 million for Breaking Dawn
Jennifer Lawrence got paid 500.000 for Hunger Games (although this will increase depending on her percent of the theatrical gross)
