It's an honest tie between Balin, Thorin, and Bilbo. Thorin himself is brilliantly displayed in the movie, for all his kingly qualities and his weaknesses. Balin I love for being the voice of reason and a faithful, if cooky, companion. Bilbo I love for being himself heart

Bilbo, because he was quite likable and reminded me of my old room mate. xd Whenever you can see your friends in characters in movies it's interesting.
