Pretty much. Look at it ths way, nothing is private anymore these days. Public profiles can be accessed from anywhere, people know people that know people, and even from an email, someone can find your address, phone number and even how much money you make. Believe me, I used to work for a cable company and found out all those nifty tricks.
As for the Jealousy part, it is quite possible he may be Jealous. He might try to find what the "Other" guy has that he doesn't, ultimatly, making him a fake person if he changes for you. The way I see it people should be liked for whom they really are in real life, not a copycat of someone else. Good luck though! =D
