ภาษาไทย เป็นภาษาราชการของประเทศไทย และภาษาแม่ของชาวไทย และชนเชื้อสายอื่นในประเทศไทย ภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาในกลุ่มภาษาไท ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มย่อยของตระกูลภาษาไท-กะได สันนิษฐานว่า ภาษาในตระกูลนี้มีถิ่นกำเนิดจากทางตอนใต้ของประเทศจีน และนักภาษาศาสตร์บางท่านเสนอว่า ภาษาไทยน่าจะมีความเชื่อมโยงกับ ตระกูลภาษาออสโตร-เอเชียติก ตระกูลภาษาออสโตรนีเซียน ตระกูลภาษาซิโน-ทิเบตัน
Hopefully all of you can see that. It's an example of the Thai alphabet, which is used by tens of millions of people every day in writing and language. Now, I can see how katakana and all of that can be learned by those of us who use the Latin alphabet (with a bit of practice). Hell, Cryllic and Russian too, while we're at it.

How the hell can anyone even understand this, though? It's not like I disrespect or don't like Thailand or its people (I plan to visit the country one day, in fact), but I honestly don't understand how people can write like this. Arabic is even MORE confusing for me, but I'm going to have to learn THAT language for travel eventually so I should probably learn a bit of the alphabet as well.
