I tear like mad when cutting onions, and I couldn't wipe my tears because then I would hav onion juice in my eyes.

Chewing mint gum while cutting the onion, and then some more afterwards, help cut down on the nose-burning, stops your eyes watering and cuts down on the smelly breath :D
