It happened its cool, he obviously likes you, and when that happens people make questionable choices.
But it sounds like you took/ and take everything he (Possibly everyone) say really seriously,

and no im not him and his friend were mean and it wasnt only 8th grade it was high school and also recently in college they are the ones who need to let go all of them need to stop harassing me i dont talk to them im not friends with them you dont joke like that with people you dont know well
