Randomness, the internets, and you.

It seems to me that "random" humor is the most popular means of entertainment these days.

One especially promminent example comes to my mind, and it can be found here.

Anyhow. Random humor is everywhere now. In commercials on television, on the internets, and the chanes are you have an attention-whore best friend who's every second spoken word is cheese or llamas.

Any Idea of how this phenonomon started? Were you a random person before it was "Cool" to be random?

My personal thoery is that marketing executives realised that so many kids are on the drugs these days, the random humor approach is the quickest and easiest way to develope brand identity.
