Government controlling internet is bad stop SOPA & ProtectIP

Oh my god D= the government is trying to blocked internet sites that they find to be unwise to have. Truth is i wouldn't put it past them, but i don't want gaia to be affected by this because its like a second home (I know, sad to alot of people.) What i really wanna know is is this for real or not?

I inclouded links below, including the ThatGuyWithTheGlasses site where i first heard about this, don't let the government control the internet, its already bad enough isn't it? There is also a video below that explains alot about this.

Government wants to control Internet Traffic

Government has bin threatening to take over control of the internet sense 04 but they really can't because it's nation wide. They also were trying to put a limit to usage of it back in 08-09. It all will most likely drop out of the electoral college and never happen. So I wouldn't stress about it really all that much.
But I say let the government do it and watch how many geeks completley shut down the government or destroy the governments data base with a smiley face like this oDo saying "You shouldn't of done it!"

To be fair, I will give the government partial credit. They are trying to implement tools that allow companies and the government to redirect local users from foreign sites that comply with piracy. HOWEVER, there is no such tool that can not have a high potential of misuse. Thus, I say: Anon save us....

Government is trying to restrict internet freedoms.
In a nutshell:

1. They want to have all websites be liable for what their users contribute and have the ability to sue the website so it is the websites responsibility of what the users do.
ie: I sing a popular song, post it on youtube, youtube gets sued because of copyright infringement.

2. The entertainment industry feels like the internet is cheating them out of money because of downloads so they want to catch people to get their money back, this is putting pressure on the WHOLE of the internet. The reality of the situation is the internet makes way more money than the entertainment industry and the entertainment industry thinks the internet is stealing their money. So everyone who tries to do anything on the internet is under surveillance.

I would love if the internet ban went down and hackers deleted all of congresses savings accounts.

As adamant as they are is as adamant as we have to be to keep shooting them down.
If you had fought against government infringing on our rights before then you would know that they are relentless and will do anything, even wait for the public to be lazy and inactive against this policy to get the upper hand and milk money out of anyone.
